  • If Sidney's Candy is pointed to the Malibu later this year, I want to see him have a 4th showdown with Tiny Woods back in sprinting.

  • Caracortado is from SoCal, not GG. Skipshot is from GG. Caracortado could have gotten 2nd place (the mandatory place need to be in the Ky Derby) had he got an outside post like the 9. He got stuck in the rail. If he remained outside, would have got a clear path to grab 2nd. He would have outfinished Setsuko. A horse like American Lion who finishes behind Scarface twice ends up going to the Ky Derby with that win in IL. Scarface is better than him and Conveyance.

  • @sweetepnoy I obviously would tend to agree with these statements. I'm actually a big Caracortado fan, he had a lot of trouble in the SA Derby. Big chance he hits the board in the Preakness.

  • I got a 22-1 Derby Future on Sidney in Pool 3. He's been my Derby horse since I saw him break his maiden in Del Mar in track record time. I'm a big fan of Sid and Scarface. I was never sold on Lucky's talent. Look at all his raw times. 1:43's all over. Low BSFs. Both Scarface and Sid are faster. Lucky = HYPE. (thanks to Baffert). Lucky will be overbet again in the Ky Derby after all the excuses. The only CA 3YO I will be betting is the Candyman.

  • wow..David..looks like that strong early pace really hurt Sidney's Candy...hahahaha..i think u underestimated his ability...he would have beat LAL even without the assist from Victor..Carocatodo or Scarface needs to go back to GG even though i like his humble background...Sidney WILL win KY Derby 136!!!!!!!!!!

  • @smcracing1 Hindsight is always 20/20. Sidney's Candy ran a good race, but had absolutely everything break his way. He'll certainly be one of the top 5 betting choices on Derby day, and is clearly a talented individual. But, he will have to prove he can win without getting the dream set-up he's had in his last two starts.

  • Props, Dave. I know I try to bust your balls sometimes, but nice to hear you're a Scarface fan like myself. I keyed him and the Candyman. Made a nice profit. I did NOT like Lucky. That race did get messy with Victor and Gogo, Great depth alright, but the Candyman romped. Saw it in person and was smiling from ear to ear. Too bad for Atkinson. No Derby for Caracortado. Still a fan though. Cool you actually like some of our CA synthetic horses.

  • I hate it when we agree. L@L deserves favoritism, but 4/5 is WAY too short. Caracortado looks like a great price. Granted, I wouldn't take him over L@L at the same price, but at 5/1 or so, def. worth a shot.

  • i just hate that they are racing on that poly grap wish they get rid of that junk

sidney candy for me i guess...

  • YES!! I do think Lookin at Lucky does "tower over" the field but I dont expect him to win this race.. He doesnt need to win to get into the derby & winning the derby is Bafferts main objective.. I think a quicker pace will do nothing but help Caracortado win this race!

  • @Brburton17 Absolutely. I also don't really buy Eskendereya and Lucky as THAT much better than Caracortado or Awsome Act. Really, this could be a decent crop...
