You should upgrade POW time to time. Because most of the selections are useless such as Stache, speed. The only thing I recommend doing if you know how to play this game right is follow my build. Mario -> POW only. Luigi -> DEF only (add Bros point every 5 levels because of Knockback bros if you wish). The only trouble you ever recieve is when you fight the Piranha plant by Luigi.
@tracer203 you should have one of your characters with high enough speed so you can heal with max nuts before fighting cackletta. after all, you begin at 1 hp.

well, i find speed useful because if you can get a turn before cackletta, you can use max nuts before fighting her.
