Now I see where the inspiration for Cazadors come from in Fallout: New Vegas. I'd hate to imagine Nevada being a natural habitat for these little buggers though.
I used to watch this go down on the playground at my elementary school as a kid. I noticed that the wasps would attack the cane spiders and kill them! I always wondered why... btw i live in hawaii, so we have this kind of stuff
Sooner or later we'll get a chance to see the Giant Tarantula species take on Pepsis Atrata, the largest of all wasps. The Giant Tarantula can have up to a 10" leg span while Pepsis Atrata can be 4" long with an inch long stinger. They both occur in the Amazon Jungle of South America.
The wasp always win because they are a lot faster than their prey. And they are successful due to them being able to sting multiple times. Spiders (some not all) often pounce onto their prey when they attack.
ah the Wasp, the primal enemie of the spider , often seen in south america , with its superior mobility, overwhelms the spider easily, and forces the spider fake its own death, then take the spider 40cm to the left where the wasp is done playing with this spider, and now knows the spider is now the crack wasp bitch.
Why do people think that the spiders are scarier than the wasp? I would rather sleep with a tarantula in my pillow that get within 20 feet of a tarantula hawk.
"After the larva grows a bit, it plunges into the spider's body and feeds voraciously, avoiding vital organs for as long as possible to keep it fresh." mmm Yum, fresh, live meat
on the contrary the camera man was very brave as he got on his knees and brought the cam as close as possible but nothing could distract them away from their battle, just like mating cats
@JCartzy We know the cause of EARTH, the universe itself could have been "caused" by a god, but earth itself was brought about by luck. In answer to your point, how can there have been a god before there was time or physics, or even the nothingness that we now call the universe. You can't just assume that because we don't know something it has to have been god. The odds of the universe being created by chance are 1; if there was nothing originally, the only thing that could happen was something
@crazytosh1 "In answer to your point, how can there have been a god before there was time or physics, or even the nothingness that we now call the universe."
If God created time and all matter don't you think He could exist before those things? Also the odds that Earth is a fluke is astronomical.
"The odds of the universe being created by chance are 1; if there was nothing originally, the only thing that could happen was something"
@gamersxs It doesn't defy common sense, it's just a kinda "meta-sense" If there was apsolutely nothing, then the only thing that could have happened would be the creation of an environment in which things could exist. I know it sounds weird, but whatever. God retreats to wherever humans don't have knowledge, everything we learn pushes him further away. Again, just because we dont understand something doesnt mean it's god. We should strive to learn, not make up excuses not to learn.
@JCartzy And what are the chances of it being caused by an enormous invisible being. That surely must, if you are going to use science to justify religion, have had a cause itself.
Post script: interestingly enough, the stinger also acts as the insect's ovipositor. In other words, the egg-laying implement. No where else in the animal world as far as I know.
Y'all better hope you never get stung by one of those things. I have, and I was lying on the ground screaming like a little kid. The pain is indescribable.
@DreamingOfJeannie It's interesting that although the bullet ant is supposedly the most painful insect sting, YouTube is full of folks taking a bullet ant hit. Yet NO ONE is willing to take a sting from a tarantula hawk. Why is that?
I think there is a lot to support evolution-Much more than any other "story" we have come up with as humans-But to say it is fact is ignorant.Lol-I believe its true-But we are still working out the kinks Mr.Zardas11-I called you ignorant haha. And your whole point was to call other people ignorant but we are kinda still on the same team anyway.Hummm evolution makes me horny.
@zigzagg321321 No I just support the wasp and the education of ignorant American youth who really need to get a balanced education (which means learning that they arent the center of the world and that something exists outside the borders of their land).
obviously you dont realize what else exists beyond the borders of your country. Your education is flaud. Instead of learning your harassing people on youtube. That just proves that your education and/or religion is based on hatred than good itself.
@Jokuki9 -that is only honeybees- this wasp is injecting a paralyzing venom into the tarantula, not killing it, and then laying eggs inside to grow and feed on the living paralyzed tarantula-I have seen this happen in Arizona-
