there is a video by Pyramyd Air that shows how to use this pump. You're supposed to wait one second after the up-stroke, and also wait one second after the down-stroke. This gives you the best results with fewest pumps. This pump is a lot of hard work when you pump up to 3000 psi. But it's great backup if you don't have a scuba tank, etc.

@MyAnthony3 Yes, just get the correct 1/8 inch fittings to connect pump outlet to tank inlet. A 13ci 3000psi tank takes less than 25minutes to fill, with a compulsory10 minute rest at 2000psi, to prevent pump overheating.

For 48ci 3000psi, it takes about 1 hour, with about 3 rest intervals, to prevent overheating of the pump.

just a tip to make your pump last years! Pump slow, pulling ALL the way up and allowing 1 second to let the air in and pump all the way down because the last 1.5 inch is the most important becasue it is where all the air is compressed. bleed it fast so all the moisture escapes quick. When you bleed it, try to do this as far as you can from any source of dust or any contaminant to prevent the valves on your tanks get stuck.

I just adapted my air force hand pump to fill paintball tanks.I succesfully filled my 90ci nitro duck and 72ci pure energy and each tank took me 2 nights about 2,932 pumps...lol...my father thinks im nuts but i filled both to 3,000psi

I noticed that you are pumping a bit inneficiently. You should slow down a bit and be sure to bring it up all the way then go down all the way. The pump does most of the "pumping" in the last inch or 2, and you werent always getting it, so it kind of wastes that pump. It will also extend the life of it.

freeze your tank before you start pumping, when it warms up the pressure will raise even more. this is a really good idea, the whole hand pump thing, but they're like $140 bucks, just wait till the miniature hpa compressors come out for $300 and buy one of those.
