  • Thanks soooo much! That was my problem! I was in a panic as to what to do. I am ok now! Thanks again!

  • @cary61th

Yes i did get a sinking feeling when mine stopped responding. Glad it worked for you. Cheers

  • cheers m8 !!!!!!!!

  • Thanks that worked!

  • Thanks a lot! Going crazy figuring out why it's working! Thanks a lot! It really worked! :D

  • Great tip there Fred!

  • Very useful man!! I thought it was a major problem, thanks for the help!

  • This is simply superb, I was worried about my glowing touchpad on my Gateway ID49C07u. It was not working. Taking clue from your tip, I pressed FN F6(it is F6 in Gateway ID49C07u) and it just worked. Thanks you made my day.

  • @benegali

    No worries, glad to help.

Intersting it works on other laptops. You would think that a icon or something would appear in the task bar to let you know what you have done.

  • exactly what I did wrong! thanks for that video I'm surprised that hasnt happened to me before being right next to the mute key

  • Thanks fred, I've been worried about the touchpad for ages, thinking I would have to have it replaced. Well done, you've made my day

  • @jrm2u

Glad it worked for you. Cheers

  • you have to be poor as fuck to have a small laptop like that

  • @Kill3rDiv3r

LOL ;-). Ive got 3 laptops and a tablet and have 6 in the house in total. I mainly use the net book to drive my telescope. Cheers.

  • @Kill3rDiv3r your mums poor

  • You're a lifesaver! I was messing with the function keys yesterday because my screen was acting funky and after all that, I noticed the touchpad wasn't working and after rebooting a few times and disabling and enabling the touchpad software, I couldn't figure it out. My boyfriend found this video online while researching the problem. Such a simple solution too. xD

  • @purplestang98

Glad i was able to help out ;-).

The strange thing is that once you disable the touchpad by mistake it remembers the setting when you re-boot. Drove me mad for a while.

  • When i pressed the buttons, it stopped the video!

  • @AprilPink4

That sounds a bit wierd. By default the space bar pause's the video. What operating system you running ?

  • I plugged in my mouse and it never worked at all

  • hey brother, my touchpad always work but the scroller of it doesn't, it's not broken. everytime i must open the touchpad map somewhere in windows to let it work somehow. how can if fix this? ty

  • @TheCollapsing

I would go to the Acer support website and try downloading new drivers for the touchpad. Best wishes mate

  • thank you so much!!! I will try this the only problem is that something fell off the shelf onto the keyboard (i know pretty lucky right) and now all the keys (t/y down to the space bar and s all the way to the j) are pretty indented but still work except the touch pad.

We opened it up and there are no broken parts so hopefully this will work!!:)

thank you so much will give an update!

  • @dbarroga

Ouch that must have been something heavy to damage the keys! I guess its possible is caught the FN key and F7 ? Best of luck hope it works.

  • @fredintheshed1 also i am very glad that we did not take it to any professional electronics repair joint! We possibly would have been charged 300 for just a basic check up or possibly could have gotten scammed! thanks a bunch!

  • @dbarroga

I am glad all has worked out, well done. Yes its true some of these computer fix firms can end up charging you more than the laptop is worth.

  • @fredintheshed1

Thank you soo much! It worked! We took it apart to see if we can reversed the indent....I then found this video and fortunately it worked!

We are fortunate that it was only a huge dent and nothing was destroyed! ..no one's mad now since it is fixed!:)

However, I eventually popped up the (tin, I guess) and reversed the dent. popped up some keys and also used the fn&f7 for the touch pad and WALA! It worked thanks a bunch! Happy Holidays!

  • Thank you for saving me a lot of time and heartache

  • Very freaky is that this setting seems to be saved across power-off/reboot. Thanks for taking the time to post this!

  • Thank you!!! Acer Aspire 722

  • what is the name of the computer i know its acer but dont they usually have a number to go along with it like for example acer 722

  • thxx brotherr : D

  • @123456790justin

    No probs mate.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

    +1 for u bruva

  • Haha lol that is exactly what I did. I freaked out and plugged the external mouse. Thanks for the tip it worked perfectly : )

  • Holy crap, seriously, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I consider myself a pretty level-headed, computer-savvy person and yet this completely eluded me. If it hadn't been for this little video, I'd probably be on my way to the store to return my netbook right now!

  • @mrplutor

Cheers. Yeah it drove me mad when it first happened to me. Used a mouse for a couple of days until i sussed it out. ;-)

  • OMG THANK YOU!!!!!

  • @TheCyShow

My pleasure. Its a nice feeling when the thing starts working again after pressing just 2 buttons. ;-)

  • think you so much you help me

  • @305recardo

No worries buddy. Its such a simple thing to get the net book running again and has brought mine back from the dead twice already.
