I'm trying to download an actual swf video, and this worked up until the point where you have to find the dot swf in the page source.. I did put it as .swf BUT, it couldn't find an actual link with that in it. Since the video I want is not a game, will it work or no? And if not, is there a way to get it?

@kiki23241 okay so youtube isn't letting me post the link in this comment so i'm gonna tell you what to google and you'll find it. just search on google "csmile422 mysterious ticking noise" and it should be the first one from a website called shareswf.com. I do not have the original copy anymore which is why i'm trying to download it and upload it to youtube... but there is no option to download it back from the website Thank you! :)

@CynicalRhino Ok so I went and tried to download it too and for some reason the file does not play like it does on the website, so no luck there. But, I recommend that you try using a screen recorder to record it if you'd like to. I'm sorry that I couldn't help you the way you wanted. :(

@reincarnation313 Yeah, just open it with the a browser. It does play offline though. It just needs a place to launch the game.

@7Nexus21 Honestly, I can't get the game to load either. Maybe the website creators made it to where you can't download that game I don't know. But if I find a way to get the full game I'll how. Sorry I don't know how to help.

Tried this on britishpathe com but no link to correct swf file, so couldn't go any further (wanted to get Madeleine Carroll footage). Any ideas/tips?

@stronghorse22 Unfortunately I have no idea of how to get an swf file from the website you are referring to because this video is actually for downloading games from websites and stuff like that. Sorry I'm afraid I can't help you.

@smokeydude3 yes you can download the .swf file click 2 times and a open with window will pop up just click your browser and the will start running!!! hope it helped
