  • Dowwnload the audio from this vid at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • Electronics knowledge really pays dividends. The fact that you didn't even take the time to change really speaks volumes for your excitement in bringing electronics back to life. Love your passion.

  • Nice work Luke, Can you tell me what model it is?

  • Luke you should totally add me on XBL.

  • WOW! amazing, Luke! Im glad its working again! Enjoy!!! (I dont want it back, dont worry! ) :)

  • Looks like a 40" monitor. You're the magic man, you can make anything work again. :)

  • As always, Luke, my hat is off to you. Not if I had an entire year would I be able to fix something like that!

  • quickies.......yeah i have no comment lol

  • I've been using a Dell 22" monitor for my HD gaming for about 5 years now. A few months ago I got a vertical bright purple line going down just a little to the left of the middle of the screen. At first it pissed me off, but now I'm used to it. It's changed colors several times. Right now it's a dark, but vivid, cyan.

  • Holy crap, better hope your friend doesn't see this video and start wanting his monitor back :)

  • so what makes this a monitor and not a tv? this is a tv to me that has a vga plug on it.

  • @james42519 a monitor doesnt have a tv tuner in it

  • @TheDVDGamer well does this have one or not? i know there are dell tv's too.

  • @TheDVDGamer if lukes calling it a monitor, then I would say thats all it is..

  • great job on fixing the monitor!! you should have an on call repair service LOL , hey do you have xbox live?

  • Omg O.o You are amazing!

  • I wish I had the repair skills you have... I even took electronics repair classes and still don't have a clue how to fix anything.

  • ugh I dont get youtube anymore.... I turn off autoplay and shuffle, and it STILL goes to some random video after another ends

  • @dragonsword777 Go to the URL and get rid of the 1&

  • i love quickies <3

  • Nice!

  • Damn Luke, thats a BIG monitor! :D Now you´ll never have space problems on the desktop ever again! ;)

I´m just imagining Photoshop on this beast, arrrr......that would be sooo delicious! ^^

  • Damn that looks nice!

  • jeeeeeeeeez your a good mechanic

  • great job man

  • Nice job Luke, No big shock that you were able to get it going lol.. How bis is that monitor? 30"? it doesn't go much bigger for monitors right. Reminds me of this 26" TV/Monitor that I'm on now..couple years ago I thought it had died..I was gonna chuck it or sell it for a couple bucks..But after I long time ..I finally discovered it's just the VGA cable that came loose.Yeah kinda embarrassing...and it's still chugging along after all these years.

  • WOW Awesome colors and display!

  • that is a badass screen :D

  • I wish I would get like a dell monitor like your for free. Also the monitor would be good for a MAME arcade.

  • SWEEETT !!!

    Major SCORE !

always test before putting back together/

let us know in a couple days to a week show us that it still works.

    SCORE !!!

  • like i said before, that would make a nice tv

  • Very nice job Luke! awesome you got it working again :)

I just fixed my Samsung (bad caps), but nice you found the problem!

  • @thomas3120

If the caps are totalled, how do you find out what caps you should use?

  • @descendedgod I guess the best way is to open it up and see what caps are bad and write down all the values, microfarads, volts & temp (probably 105 degrees).

  • Awesome Luke! You can fix anything, I'm sure of that.

  • Lol, what most people would consider "broken", Luke just takes apart and after an hour it's all up and running again!

Must be pretty sweet to have that big of a monitor for free. What is it...like 30"?

  • Great job Luke! It looks really great :)

  • Wowee. When Luke was in the car, I thought it was a damn T.V.! Aaah. What a little reverse engineering can do.

  • So did it end up being the heat sink pads? Or something discovered later?

  • Luke is a genius. He can fix anything.

  • @roknamza I agree with you completely xD

  • that looks great does it have a hdmi port also whats it's resolution also lol is it 1080p??

  • wow, for free that's awesome man.
