I've been using a Dell 22" monitor for my HD gaming for about 5 years now. A few months ago I got a vertical bright purple line going down just a little to the left of the middle of the screen. At first it pissed me off, but now I'm used to it. It's changed colors several times. Right now it's a dark, but vivid, cyan.
Nice job Luke, No big shock that you were able to get it going lol.. How bis is that monitor? 30"? it doesn't go much bigger for monitors right. Reminds me of this 26" TV/Monitor that I'm on now..couple years ago I thought it had died..I was gonna chuck it or sell it for a couple bucks..But after I long time ..I finally discovered it's just the VGA cable that came loose.Yeah kinda embarrassing...and it's still chugging along after all these years.
@descendedgod I guess the best way is to open it up and see what caps are bad and write down all the values, microfarads, volts & temp (probably 105 degrees).
