I just buried one of my favorite pets, a sheep, who thought it was a dog, I cried so hard it made one of my dogs wail along with me, and the donkeys came and stood by for comfort. I would cry again, I think, when this Psudocreobroter wahlbergii died...even though its a insect type creature.

They eat aphids when they are young. In fact, you can probably pick up Mantid egg sacks from your nursery/garden shop, just toss them in your garden... aphid problem will reduce once they hatch. As they mature, they tackle many other insect pests. Mantids are carnivorous. Your plants will not be harmed. They will prey upon the hobo, recluse spiders as well. I have not met a Mantid that refused to be picked up by a human. They are harmless to us.
