  • @kamikaze1213

Hey mate, can you abuse the tremolo, doing dive bombs and stuff without breaking strings/untunning?

  • @AKAJACE1337 Indeed. I have had no trouble with the trem on this guitar.

  • i have one:) picked it up for 200 with a hardshell

  • That's from your band? I don't normally like metal but that sounds pretty good. Whats the band name?

  • @WildWe5 Thanks much for the kind words, they are very appreciated, Blood Legacy, and Divine Nightmare the bands that I am in :)

  • HA, i love how it still hasnt faded out of style

  • What is the thing on the headstock, ythat you can open?

  • hay is it hard to tune it into drop C tunning?

  • btw, does it have the glossy maple fretboard, or is it kinda rough/unfinished? thanks for the review

  • @jasonism123 It's not a glossy fretboard. Just a good piece of maple, sounds really good :)

  • how is the bridge/trem working out? do you tend to abuse it? I'm worried the trem/bridge might not last that long.

  • @jasonism123 Trem is fine, never had an issue with the edge 3 :)

  • Katatonia t-shirt! YES!

  • @RockSchooled Indeed, one of my favorites :)

  • Damn, that guitar sounded nothing like i expected!

Am currently thinking of buying it online, although i`m very skeptical with buying expensive and costly things online :/

How far can you de-tune this guitar?

Do the strings buzz at the high or low frets?

I hope that your amp isn`t worth 1000000 and that you didn`t jinx the whole guitar, though, all in all, the strings sounded slightly loose if you ask me..am seriously thinking about buying this slick looking and hardcore guitar :)

  • This is neck-thru construction, right?

  • @leny2321 Bolt On. My new Dean V is a neck thru though :)

  • Dude, I got the RG350MYE a few months ago, and then I saw this guitar, and nearly pissed myself. I like it just as much if not more than the MYE, but I can't believe this one's only $360 when the MYE was $400.

  • Just got mine today. Awesome guitar!!! The neck is incredibly flat and fast compared to my ESP/LTD MH103 which has more round back of the neck but I also like very much the way it feels. I guess as they say no single guitar can give you everything. But this guitar surpasses all expectations in terms of ease of play, looks, and sound. Also very nice price. Check out ebayer guitar_shack_416 item 120649392537. For only $330 bucks!!! Love this store and their inventory.

  • Nice review maan!!! I was thinking of buying thism ur video really helpd THANX!! \m/

  • Are you running the stock pickups in that guitar during this video? Because in my humble opinion I think that they are not suited to that heavy tone that you have, and more suited to a smoother tone like Steve Vai's. If that guitar was mine and I was going for that heavy tone I would replace them with, maybe not Actives, but chunky pickups suited to that style, maybe a Duncan 59' or something. Anyway man, kickass review; keep that shit going. Later

    -J

  • dude haha awesome review man iwant one know haha dude you look like dave mustain but balled and with scot ians beard. haha but your you haha.

  • I have had three of these and they all had quality issues. One had a stripped mounting screw on the locker on the head stock. One was shipped to me with the wrong neck . One had two bad frets at 19 and 20. All three were bought new online form Guitar Center. However, it does play and sound OK. Just below average quality control at Ibanez.

  • Great review. I was thinking about getting this but I'm torn between this one (or rather, a similar model) and the Jackson DXMG or an Ibanez ART2EX1. I wanted something that is versatile but has a bit more of a heavier metal edge to it similar to bands like SYL.

Can you (or anyone) help me out here?

  • Nice review man! I had a cheap RG model years ago and it honestly wasn't very good. It seems that Ibanez has done a good touch up job on its RG line. They can be awesome guitars. I own an old ST 300 Ibanez and I wouldn't trade it for the world. By the way, Jacksons rock!!!

  • i would have bought this guitar today if it wasnt excluded from the guitar center black friday deal. i also like the rg350dx because it comes in white and i already have a black les paul-is this guitar the same as the rg350dx?

  • I have it and the bridge you gotta adjust with different gauges/really different tunings

  • I'm diggin this guitar, the problem now is finding the right dealer from local stores.

  • I've got the exact same guitar, and I must say it is the best bang for your buck, not too expensive, my only issue I had was a bad buzz from the pickups when the selector was in the middle position. got it fixed and have had no problems since.

  • Thank you a lot for your review, it seems very unbiased and honest. I was looking for a general review like this, thanks :)

  • @GibsonSGKing You're welcome! I'm glad I could do it :)

  • it's scott ian from anthrax!!!!

  • any chance i could get the settings you use for your clean tone

  • @robodingding At the time I was using a Boss GT6 and don't remember too well the settings, I know I was using a Roland JC amp model, I generally use a decent helping of bass , mids around 12:00, and treble to flavor. Hope that helps.

  • Firstly wicked goatie m8 (just thought I would mention it) :). That was a useful and honest review. I especially enjoyed the clean licks. I detected a classical-flamenco flavour and amazingly, there was a distinct acoustic feel to the tone. Brilliant stuff! Cheers

  • @BornNonconformist Thanks much for the kind words! I really appreciate them, Thanks Bro :) I am actually a little more classically trained than I am blues trained and I did study flamenco for about 3 months from a guy that was a brilliant classical musician :) He didn't want to teach me because I had already been playing for 8 years and he didn't feel there much left for me to learn, But I assured him we all have more to learn, so it was a good experience :)

  • @kamikaze1213

You're welcome m8, I truly enjoyed and appreciated the review. I am partial to practically anything played skilfully on a guitar and although I prefer blues, I am a huge fan of classical and flamenco. I was simply astounded that a hard core rock/metal-oriented guitar such as an Ibanez RG350 can be tamed to produce such a serene classical tone. Its testimony to your skills I reckon :). Once again top job. Cheers :).

  • Nice man :D Just wondering what strings you have on this?

  • @DimeIsGod456 I think these ones were 10-42 Ernie Balls, Maybe GHS I don't really remember which. I now have a Dean Black Gold V and I'm using 11-48's on that. I will probably do a video soon with the Ibanez to show how to properly detune the guitar and make the proper tension adjustments on the guitar.

  • @kamikaze1213 Ah okay (: And yeah that would be useful , had a few problems with the tension adjustments :)

  • Very nice review. Awesome playing...love the scales. I just got my RG350MDX yesterday from ZZounds and I am extremely happy. I too chose it because of the maple fingerboard. Found one for sale blemished (although I haven't found a single scratch on it yet) for a steal @ $299.00.

  • hey dude you know where to get the tremolo bar? cause i buy one in guitar center with two whtie stripes down but dont fit in the guitar

  • @markilloz...if it's an edge system maybe try ibanez.com. The edge tremolo I believe is their version of the floyd rose.

  • you talk real well man :D and play it too .

Would you suggest the new blue coloured one they launched at NAMM this year , what street price can one get the yellow one for ?

ehh too many questions , but I really need to know pal .

  • @itreanor I think Ibanez makes a fine Instrument for sure :) Were you referring to the Ibanez RG350M? They make that in a blue and yellow and it goes for around $400 I think :)

  • Comment removed

  • @kamikaze1213 Thanks , Really appreciate :D

  • @itreanor well there was a Yellow one at a guitar store around here and it was going for about $300. really a great price for such a versatile (and not to mention beautiful) guitar. This one is great, but before I buy one or the other I'm gonna try this and a RG470AH at a guitar center before i choose. Always gotta try them with your own preferred amp and effects first to see how it works with them. Never buy it unless you try it!

  • Like ur stuff alot. esp the cleaner things...

  • @mantrinbago Thanks tons, really appreciate your kind words :)

  • Would seymour duncan blackouts go good with this guitar?

  • What is the price of that guitar?

  • This is actually a realy good review, nice work. And some nice guitar playing at that! Thanks. And yes choosing the "right" guitar is down to what is right for you.

  • I was like WHAT THE FUCK, SCOTT IAN!?

  • most people with problems with the bridge are probably resting their hand on it, or bumping it while plucking sometimes. thats what i was doing at first, i thought there was a prob but its easily avoided. great vid great songs

  • i have the same ibanez but with a full maple neck, the mdx. i want to swap the pickups out for emgs what do recommend? 81/single/60 or 81/single/85? i dont know which one will sound better with that single in the center. what do you think?

  • yer clean stuff reminds me of kirk hammet, i like it. but i gotta question, is it a good guitar for shredding? i mean i have a kramer guitar with a maple fretboard and idk i cant shred on it but i blame its action, would u recomend this guitar for someone who shreds n sweep picks often?

  • @musicForYourFace I think Ibanez makes great guitars for shredding! Get ya one for sure and thanks much for the comment, greatly appreciated :)

  • Thanks for the review. Just yesterday I spotted one on eBay that I was thinking about buying. Nice playing too. You seem like a cool dude. Thumbs UP!

  • that first riff you played was kick ass.

  • @motleysixx666 Thanks much, New song I have been working on for awhile :)

  • if i bought this guitar would the brige be good for drop c and what strings would go with that

  • @129jasaxos The Bridge is fine, Drop C is fine too, I tune to C# and have no issues, You want to go with a heavier gauge string, like 11's or so.

  • question, how good is the edgeIII in tuning stability. i read on a forum that eventually it craps out after a few months to the point where it doesn't reset to zero. good review by the way, planning on getting myself a RG350QM in red burst soon because of the review.

  • @XAlphaZEROX I honestly have had no such experience personally. I've had it for more than 2 years and I play it ALL THE TIME, so I don't know why someone would say that unless they don't know how to properly set up a guitar. Hope that helps, Thanks for watching!

  • im about to buy a 350dx, people say the tremolo (edge III) sucks and it cant play in d tuning. is it like that? i was going to look into getting a fixed bridge but they dont have a middle pickup

  • @thojyout23 I have had it tuned to D and C# and had no problems whatsoever. Of course I also properly adjust string and neck tension as well.

  • ok thanx. im going to try to set it up properly as i just bought it.........

  • i know somebody already asked a similar questions but after you set it up did it buzz AT ALL, also i wanted to know if when you stand up with the guitar if the neck dives, one more thing what size strings do you use.

    thanks

  • @joeperry47 Once any guitar is set up properly it shouldn't buzz.. Neck does not dive, it's not that heavy really. String size is dependent on what I'm tuned to. If I go to C# I'm using 11's, If' I'm in standard tuning I use 9's or 10's.

  • does it buzz in the lower frets

  • @MRUGOTTABEKIDDING No, I will do a new video soon with some new Digitech stuff that I just got :)

  • should i buy this for 250 dolla? ur awsome btw. what amp? the peavy?

  • @maggotman94 I would definitely get it for that amount :) I used a Boss GT6 for this video, Just ordered a Digitech RP500 though, will be here later in the week :)

  • i think that guitar is just amazing !

the only thing i dont like too much are the pick ups inf...but for the price they are OK

    anyway great vid

  • u sound like the guy from jackson guitar reviews

  • I´ve heard ibanez that are under 500 dolars tend to be a bit bad, is it true? Can someone confirm this? please reply, I thank in advance

  • @MegaDarth666 I have found no issues with this guitar at all, it's a great guitar for the money.

  • Thanks for replying and your video looks awesome. The guitar looks way cool aswell sounds pretty neat but I dont think Ibanez fits my style of playing.

  • how does it handle squeals, chirps and divebombs?

  • @xGUITARZEROx I think it handles them very well :) I'll be uploading a new video when I test my new FX unit with the Ibanez :)

  • your voice reminds me of kermit...

    nice guitar

    im more in to sevenstrings

  • Thats a great sound on that cheap little thing. I've been wanting an RG for awhile now and the RG350 is right in my price range (I want a prestiege but damn expensive)

My dad gave me his old (broken) original 72 deluxe tele that had some 20 yr old Dimarzio DP100/DP150's on it and my plans were to later replace the RG350's pickups with the dimarzios to try and bring 'er up to the prestieges level.

I need to upgrade my amp too, got any recommendations?

  • @KewlCrayon Would love to get a prestige for sure, but you're right, they are costly. I use a Peavey Valveking 100 watt head and Kustom 4X12 with Celestions, and I love it! Highly recommend the Valveking :)

  • can u make a video on how to down tune it

  • @kevinflores32 Yeah I think I could do that :)

  • That sounds great man I want it in white :) love the original stuff man any chance on a tutorial on that first rift ;D I'm beginner to guitar :D

  • @nizalbiz Yeah for sure, I'm actually laying it out in the studio, I'll post a vid of the song when it is finished, Thanks much for the kind words! :)

  • Thanks man can you message me a link when its up

  • just wondering.. how do you go changing the strings with the locking tuners?

I've heard that its really hard to.

    Its a very nice guitar!

  • @nosmoking099 It's not hard, you just clip the ends off and set it up the way you would any other guitar :)

  • awsome thanks for the feed back so quickly, im gonna go try out some ibanez guitars tomorrow and see what they're like :)

  • Does this guitar stay in tune for long when using the whammy bar ?

  • @Kamilk12l Yeah for sure, it's just as good as any other guitar out there, at least I have had no troubles with this beast :)

  • @kamikaze1213 Thanks man

  • hey man im really thinking of getting this guitar. looks good from your review, question tho does the edge 3 bridge give problem? i.e tuning stability?

  • @WoWpallyOWN I have had zero problems with this guitar :) If you get it, you'll love it :)

  • @kamikaze1213 woot thanks for reply mate, getting it next week :D

  • Your original material is hella good :)

  • @imsuperdupercereal1 Thanks so much for your kind words, really appreciate them :)

  • Nice beard

  • @IntegratedDerivative It's twice as long now lol

  • your playing sounds great =) just one question though, i think that i'm going to get the 350ex, are the pickups the same on both? like is the color/finish the only think that's difference? thanks

  • As far as I know the pickups are the same, The only difference is the fretboard which is maple on this model, bound rosewood on the 350ex. Hope you love it! :)

  • alright, cool, thanks for the help, and hell yes =P it'll make an awesome second guitar!

  • well then thts amazin stuff u and ur band write rock on!

  • Thanks so much for the kind words, I really appreciate them :)

  • whats the song at 4:32?

  • All original material

  • Great Review! I've been looking at this guitar and similar models for a while now and I think I might get it.

  • would you recommend this? I play all genres of music, from beatles to system of a down to classical. thanks

  • Absolutely recommended. Very versatile guitar :)

  • SOunds AMAZING, going to sell my old rp250 and join my saving up to buy this guitar in white.

  • do u like tht it will still be out by christmas

  • theres alot of fret buzz

  • Ppl say the edge III bridge sux becuz they dnt kno how to adjust it and i own an ibanez rg 350 mdx i've played it live i've played it in the studio and it's an awesome guitar to own it sounds great the only thing i've changed it is the pick ups i've installed an EMG 81 on the bridge EMG SA in the middle and an EMG 60 on the neck And it's the best guitar i've ever played and i've played everything from fenders to gibson's

  • u say um yeah! alot :P

  • I just ordered this guitar in yellow. I didn't notice in your review, but are your pickups stock? If so, they sound surprisingly awesome.

  • im saving up for a ibanez rg tremblo, that guitar looks good. 3 single coil pick ups?

  • Hum Single Hum :)

  • Has your edge 3 trem crapped out yet?

  • Can you explain why you prefer Jackson to ibanez? I love jackson design and stuff but i think maby ibanez may be just as good... any major diffrence which factor to you.. I'd be englightened to see your opinions.

  • I have just always had Jacksons and so I always used them. I don't think they are superior to any other guitar I just think that they fit me well :) They do sound different but that's a good thing, we don't need every guitar sounding the same now do we? lol

  • great review man and great playing...whats ur band name?

  • Thanks for the kind words :) Blood Legacy, Divine Nightmare and Throes Of Ire :) Those are my bands.

  • cool man imma have to check em out

  • can this guitar play from blues to metal? i know for certain it can handle metal, but hw abt blues?

  • This guitar can handle anything you can throw at it :) Would handle Blues very nicely!

  • alright sweet. thx man. gonan get myself the rg350m ye

  • nice review. I can tell you know a something guitars and are'nt just some dumbass who puts up reviews.

    5/5

  • What is a good Ibanez similar to this one with a fixed bridge. I want one but with a fixed bridge, I already have a Schecter Hellraiser with a floyd and would like the fixed bridge for simplicity of drop tuning. Kind of want to give an Ibanez a try.

  • dude uve got urself a new subscriber. dude u think the sound is better when it wasnt on utube or is it better now.

and what are the pickups, are they ifn3 and 4?

  • I'm getting more used to it these days :) I do appreciate the subscription and the kind words! Thank you :)

  • Ibanez INF3 (H) neck pick-up

    Ibanez INFS3 (H) mid pick-up

    Ibanez INF4 (H) bridge pick-up

  • Awesome review mate. Very informative.

  • You play flawlessly. Really well, even though i dont like hard rock/ metal, the rythmes you played were ALL wonderful. Thanks for posting this video, do you think i could play songs like Stairway to Heaven, Babe im gonna leave you and some other Led Zepp soft stuff on this guitar?

  • I really appreciate your kind words, thank you so much! Yes I think this guitar and it's tonal range would be wonderful for Led Zepplin, you would really like it I think

  • Ok awesome, ill try it out. I was considering a Les Paul, but its heavy, doesnt have a Floating trem, and most importanly has a Rosewood neck that i really dont like.

Anyway thanks for the answer, whats your bands name? do you have a myspace account to check out your stuff?

  • Les Pauls are fantastic guitars, but yes, heavy! I have these bands on myspace

    divinenightmare,

    throesofire,

    bloodlegacy

  • very cool review. the song from the begining is pretty cool, very old school thrash sounding. good job man

  • Thanks for the review! Do you know if this guitar is still available in stores (since it's a limiited edition)? I'll only be able to get one in September... Also, do you think it's good for Paul Gilbert-ish licks?

  • I've been playing guitar for 9 months now, and even feeling like a beginner, I want to get a new guitar better than my Fender Squier strat beginner version.

The thing is, and I see by your vid that it depends on the person and such, but would this guitar sound good playing something like Muse?

It's the kind of "route" I want to follow, the Muse'ish rock :D, and I have fell "in love" with a white version of the Ibanez RG 350, and my budget is just about the same. Need an opinion plz : D

  • This guitar is very versatile :) I'm sure you will find it to work very well for multiple needs :)

  • Lol im thiing of geting this guitar after 2 yearsof playing my squir strat ;)

  • I might have missed it in there somewhere, but what kind of amp is this running through?

  • Boss GT6 through my studio monitors :)

  • awsome shit bro, I just got myself the rg4ex1 and love it.

  • hey dude!! nice playing =D just ogt one question:are the pickups ok?? or do they really suck ^^ =D i mean your personal opinion..is it the money worth??

    greetings, keep on rockin =)

  • You advertised the guitar really well, man. The thing sounds a lot better played than people have told me.

  • It's Scott Ian!!!!

  • Thanks man!! Though mine is way longer now, his is still much longer lol

  • hows the tremolo on these guitars?

  • great work

  • Thanks much for the kind words :) Greatly appreciated!

  • wow this better then i thought my guitar teacher is getting this guitar soon lol

  • Getting the rg370dx on saturday

  • i tried that guitar at a shop and i loved it so much, it feels amazing the neck is very thin and the body is really confortable, it's definately my next guitar after i sell my actual one

  • dude ur awesome, thanks for the review...

  • Thanks so much for the kind words, greatly appreciated!

  • can u send me the tab for the non destorted stuff

    ?

  • Unfortunately my time constraints at the moment won't allow me to tab out my material, I'm in the studio for two projects at the moment and working on a documentary, Film is my other passion, But I will let you know when I can asap :)

  • I REALLY want to get that after my birthday in a few days. I play an Ibanez RG2EX1

so i think this guitar will be a nice upgrade. Very nice playing man, and i loved that first clean riff you played, it reminded me of Metallica

  • Really appreciate your kind words, I hope you get the guitar, you're going to love it!

  • Your very welcome man =]

quick question (cause I'm a noob haha) if i don't use the whammy bar will it stay in tune as long as a fixed bridge?

  • nice sound but is it just me or is there a lot of fret buzzing

  • well there is a little but it could be many things, his camera, how close to his camera he is, how hard hes picking, and stuff like that, but its a nice guitar

  • fret buzz is easy to fix! don't worry

  • sweet exotic phrasing man, and nice guitar indeed... I'm more a Jackson guy myself too, but Ibanez's do hands down have a sharper tonal variety... I recently bought a 7 String MIJ RG7420 and it's just incredibly versatile, not to mention that low B which opens up an entire new world...

    Nice review, 5 stars! \m/

  • Thanks so much for the very kind words, I truly appreciate them! I definitely know what you mean about the 7 string :)

  • do you have anything negative to say about this guitar?

  • Not really, I have been pretty darn satisfied with it and it's performance :)

  • your a realy good guitar player.how would this guitar sound with my line 6 spider 3 120 watt???

  • do u think the Rg 350 MDX,DX.&EX differences are only appearence since all 3 are the same price?

    MDX=all black

    DX=all white

    EX=black+white

  • the main difference you're gonna notice between the MDX and the other two is the fact that the MDX has a maple fretboard, it's sound should be a bit brighter than the other two... after that, they're pretty much the same... color has no effect on the sound =P

  • oh ok,thnx^^

  • no problem, hope it helps ^_^
