The downside is other people could access your network, but what is your network doing for you in the first place if you cant even use it lmao. At anytime you can reactivate the KEY from the same menu, you wont have to hard reset your router to factory settings and erase information and put it all back in on separate computer devices. SO do what he does, or try what I suggest, my ps3 was online in under 5 minutes once I disabled the KEY at 92% signal strength! =) msg if you need help bye!

I have a netgear router, but like this guy I go to my netgear router website which is 192.168.0.1 you also need to know the name and password to log into the routers site, which I thought would be a bitch to find if you forget it or changed it from original. NetGears name=admin and pass=password, find wi fi settings on the left side, then it brings up security options, mid-page, choose DISABLE, this allows you to get on your wi-fi, without knowing the KEY or changing anything.

If you dont know your wep key, its normaly on a sticker on the side of your router. if not then you will have to phone your ISP. There is no other way to get it back.
