  • Osborne survived fine. Mann was basically saying "Pay for these things. I don't care if you can't afford it as the result of my party's failed ideology, pay for it. Oh, you cant? Oh, oh, oh, you're the big Tory boogeyman!" Left wingers need a dose of reality and a lesson in basic arithmetic.

  • I don't know why we'd even argue about this - the policies are nothing to do with economics - that they're not working but are continuing shows that. The agenda is for it NOT to work, so that further cuts are made to wages, pensions and more services privatised. Who will then own these companies? You guessed it..

  • Has this been edited?

I remember John Mann asking Osborne why Germany were in a stronger position and Osborne replied because they had been fiscally prudent in the past.

This got laughs around the room but not from Mann.

This may have been from a different meeting but I thought it was this one.

  • Time will tell whether Osborne's policies are right for this country.

However John Mann does himself no favours in the way he addresses Obsorne in this and other Treasury Select Committee meetings.

His dismissive manner and refusal to even look at Osborne when he speaks to him are completely uncalled for.

I think Umunna is destined to become Leader of the Labour Party. I'm not saying that's right or wrong but I think it's inevitable.

  • fucking answer the fucking questions

  • I don't see anyone here offering an intelligent solution ...I guess its easier to slate a politician than to provide a workable answer ....that and leaving your children/grandchildren to become the SLAVES of tomorrows super-rich. An emotional response does absolutely nothing to change the empty coffers, roll up your sleeves and take it on the chin you whining maggots.

  • @temporaldisplacement How can you with a straight face defend this man?

I have been made redundant and lately I have to decide whether to a pay a bill or eat from the 60 odd pounds I receive after working without gaps since leaving school.

This man claims and tax dodges, tells you we are in together whilst sitting on 30 million pounds and drinking his Champaign and you defend him lol.

  • @WhiskyJacked You got made redundant because your job was never economically viable, thats how it goes; anecdotes on individuals isn't worth shit ....bills vs food on £60 living allowances? don't be stupid. Either you need to move into somewhere you can afford or start claiming housing benifit.

    - Chill the fuck out.

  • @temporaldisplacement

I have moved from a I bed flat to a bed-sit and I have claimed housing.

Housing shortfall alone is nearly 10 pounds a week I have to find from my giro so you can see that £60 turns into £50, then electric, water, internet, food, toiletries, clothing, phone, travel, see where this is going?

I had to quit drinking and smoking, I gave up my car, still I struggle. And he claims child benefit even though he is a millionaire, so yes I do get bitter, he is a crook

  • @WhiskyJacked No he shouldn't claim child benifit ....you've got better things to do than harp on about who's a crook on a comment section on youtube.

  • @temporaldisplacement

Leave EU = 68 billion a year we could save.

Bankers bonus should have gone to us…14 billion

Want me to continue? I could go onto the conflicts and how much they cost too if you like.

Yes I blame the politicians so should you.

  • @WhiskyJacked Finally the tone of this comment section has changed for the better; bravo.

  • A multi millionaire was claiming child benefit?!?! And he still feels the need to dodge tax?!?!

  • Is any one surprised?

  • lost little boy,hey how did he get on with the tax man and his missing 1.6 million..?

  • You're alright geogie with your £5m tax free trust fund given by your thieving parents and your collegues with their businesses registered in tax havens.

0 growth in the economy again, inflation running away. YOU HAVE NO CLUE.

  • Osborne just doesn't have a clue. It's laughable just like the Conservative policies which were written on the back of a stamp.

  • Why should Osborne claim child benefit? That's taking money away from someone who needs it! Osborne is sitting on 30 million, even though he didn't earn it and has never had a real job in his life. He is clearly out of his depth here.

  • @TheLiberalKnight He is worth £4.6m, including his £2m stake in his father's company. Where are you getting £30m from? bit[dot]ly/b5V3Dk

Before politics, he did data entry for the NHS and worked as a store assistant in Selfridges. bit[dot]ly/cNt2Wd

  • @stratman06 Right, Osborne's job experiences includes data entry and working in retail. His professional experiences does not qualify him for the Chancellor job. His non-qualifications makes you wonder how corrupt this government is. I would rather have Vince Cable for Chancellor.

  • @Pepper6464 So would I. But to say that he has never had a real job is inaccurate, and an argument doesn't stand without integrity.

  • @stratman06 I never said he never had a real job. Data entry and retail are good professions. It's just that these skills are not enough for him to take on the economy. I rather have a person with a doctorate degree in economics like Mr. Cable.

  • @Pepper6464 I was replying to TheLiberalKnight, who had said he "is sitting on 30 million, even though he didn't earn it and has never had a real job in his life."

  • @stratman06 With all of these corruption scandals in Britain in the last few years, I wouldn't be surprise if Osborne has 30 million from fraudulent practices with help from his connected family, friends, and acquaintances.

  • from a debating standpoint, george osborne holds his ground while Umunna doesn't really formulate a sustainable argument

  • It's embarrassing to watch. This guy has no idea. He came in with an ideology and that's it. With the help of the Lib Dems, of course. If it hadn't been for them, this would not be happening.

  • wot a bunch of cuts

  • Utterly brilliant. Fuck you Gideon, you absolute horror of an excuse of a human being. He gives being a c*nt a bad name.

  • @DrZiplock Couldn't have put it better myself.

  • Lying Tory Eton scum! Caught out overstating the need for cuts. But hey, "we're all in it together!" Some of us are deeper in than others though?

  • @crowhawk Osborne didn't go to Eton.

  • @stratman06 He was a member of the bullingdon club, and he used the old boys network to get into politics. So the fact he didn't go to Eton doesn't change the fact he's an upper class toff.
