i didnt know that much about cables. i listened to my friend boast about monster cables and 20 mbps cables. and the bestbuy guy boast about my 3d wont work unless i have monster cables. i bought my 3d tv and 3d bluray player and hdmi cables at costco and i got 3d content on my tv. those people at bestbuy think they are better with electronics than everyone else. im not an audiophile but im not stupid either
My tv 55" led samsung 6300 series 6 ,connected direct to my pc through HDMI cable.PC window 7 intel i7, video card nvidia Gforce GTS 250 upgraded .There is the signal from realteck audio card from my PC ,i set to the defaul the hdmi port output, but i cannt hear the sound from my tv,i wounder what is the casue of not getting signal on my tv,if samsung led tv doesnt accetp sound signal through hdmi .Can you email me ; nmustafa@sympatico.ca
@koymale if your still having this problem then right click the speaker icon next to the clock then click playback devices and samsung tv should be in the list set that as default and unclick speakers. it will send the sound through the hdmi cable to your tv.
I have a home theater setup, its an old DVD player and actually the speakers says they can support 5.1 ch, but the back has 2.0 ch bypass. thats problem one. Would the 2.1 analogs be able to utilize 5.1 power capability of the speakers. And secondly, if i decide to go with the optical route, how many laptops or small HTPC's have optical outputs to be pluged into the receiver?
Still don't give a fuck im buying the expensive cables because the security that they will not break like cheap cables and for all you listening to this guy he is cheap as fuck
wait... i have a 120hz tv... and would this be a category 2 hdmi cable? 6ft 28AWG High Speed HDMI Cable w/Ferrite Cores - Black it;s on that site you gave us... plesase respond.
Yay, monoprice. Got the exact same HDMI cable to hook up my PS3. The cheap cable that came with my TV kept cutting out and for awhile I thought the PS3 might be defective. The monoprice cable has worked flawless for over 2 years for just over $5 with shipping.
HDMi also passes along the Dobly true hd/DTS MAster Audio hd signal. Only use Digital Coxial, or Digital optical if your receiver doesn't have HDMi ports. Digital coxial cable usually labeled orange passes a signal from Dolby digital 5.a and 6.1, to DTS which is a higher frequency and has better sound,. DTS signal carry from 5.1 DTS-ES to regular DTS 5.a depending on the DVD u have and how it's Decoded
@obiwan544 in a way yes. if you are going to be using 7.1 surround sound go with hdmi. but if you are only using 5.1 surround sound then the optical cable will be just fine.
I don't care what people say, Monsters surges are better, their speaker wire sounds better and their hdmi cables look better and carry better sound. You guys are just cheap, most people who buy shitty cables also own vizio tv's with home theater in box sets
Your amp that creates the current that drives the speakers that move theairand make the noise. The cable just carries the current to them. The current is affected as much by the speaker and the amp connections as much as the quality of the ends of the speaker wire. At some point, more copper is not better, it's just plain stupid waste. Now if you're talking noise-immunity and high impedance, then granted, the cables might be worth it, but then you'd have to know what that means.
I have countless amount of research on this subject from CREDITABLE sources not internet sources he claims to be true. He DOES NOT know what he is talking about and and is ignorant about everything about cables and TVs them selfs. Doesn't understand different types of glass have different properties and plastic fails to glass in optical transfer which is empirically proven. He fails period!
PLEASE WHERE IS THE EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE FOR YOUR CLAIM. Another proud example of someone who has never studied digital signal transfer. Clear ignorance of knowledge, the cable end its either nickle gold or silver. Misunderstanding of 1.3 vs 1.4, doesn't understand what a 120hz TV function like. Pure and simple this guys does not know what he is talking about. listen to him and you WILL NOT get the best picture possible or sound.
monoprice has nothing but good reviews! just ordered a coax cable and hdmi cable from there. should be here in a few days. ill be buying a 32inch for my dorm room in a couple days.
Great video, just a month ago i was in the market for an hdmi cable and saw all these things about HDMI, I'm so glad I looked it up because instead of the cable costing me 30-60 bucks it cost me 3
I just want to say, in this context, there is no difference between a 1.3 and 1.4 cable. They're just electrical signals. The class 2 cable has the bandwidth necessary to support HDMI version 1.4 Also, 1000:1 odds this same cable will also support HDMI 1.5 when that is released. Just as you pay a 1000+% premium for Monster to stamp their name on (usually inferior) cables, you pay a premium for "1.4" vs "1.3" cables. It's all Class 1/Class II or regular or highspeed.
Great vid dude! I took your advice and used it for my old PS2. It provides BETTER output than the Audio plugs on a Component cable. Now I got the best video AND audio. DVD's are a BIG diff. thx again:)
you don't need any cable for a TV to produce 120Hz, source material doesnt matter at all on those PoS LCD's/LED's, 120Hz its produced on the TV itself no matter what, and btw Optoma is a piece of crap projector, go JVC if you want "best of the best"
Some sources can prohibit 120hz. First gen blu-ray players only did 24 fps and even some new only do 60. On Optoma...you are sadly misinformed. Optoma is a well based company with a near perfect record of projector excellence. ESPECIALLY the new line as I have. A FULL 1080p projector with deep blacks and blues. Optoma has won more awards for their product including the HD20 than any JVC projector....
While JVC has some good projectors on the market, Optoma can produce even and better products at a lower price. Optoma is also what powers a lot of the digital and digital 3d movies in theaters across the nation. DLP even favors Optoma which also led to Optoma getting their hands on the new DLP Darkchip technology which is very amazing. Watching blu-rays on this projector is just amazing and is by far more enjoyable than a 120hz tv.
I bought a $30 3ft cable once at best buy. Then a month later found out about monoprice and got 2 6ft cables for under $15, I felt like a dumb ass. Now I buy all my cables from monoprice.
Idk why lots of buy expensive HDMI cables, I buy my Sony and monster cable off the swatmi for a dollar each. I can 1080p and 3d just fine.

digital works in binary code 1 and 0's
it either works or it doesn't
if this was an analogue setup then gauge would retain signal.
