This series was based on the popular radio show that lasted from 1939 through 1951. The initial TV version (1951-'52) was staged as a live bi-weekly series, Frederic W. Ziv acquired the rights, and filmed 39 episodes for syndication in the 1954-'55 season. The opening announcer is veteran radio/TV announcer Jimmy Wallington.
@elcamino1478 A classy actor verry good looking he played the first non - italian gangster in the UNTOUCHABLES after much protesting from frank sinatra in the st. louis story [ that episode is in here] and a testimony of evil [ that is in here] in the DAKOTAS episode fargo he played a lawman they named a city after [ they took that out ] in the HIGH and the MIghty he played a rich collector of other mens wives [ you can get a litle of that in here]
I remember this show alright. Lots of officious police radio commands. Lots of street traffic noise in the background. And funky black and whites--- maybe Nash Ambassadors? Possibly older episodes from '51-'52 in reruns on a non-network channel. The cops all called Brian "Chief." Many thanks. I would never have put this together on my own.

Loved this show.
I grew up with it, first on radio and then on TV.
