if they did make a third season witch i hope they do. my theory is that sniezal breaks the geass a secretly plans to get back at every one with the flea that he secretly hid from everyone. then suzaku(zero now)starts to get suspicious that sniezal broke free and every one starts to see that suzaku is acting weird and they eventually find out that he is zero and they question him. then at that moment suzaku will drop a tape with the plan of lelouch's and suzaku's plans of how to end that war

some become really shocked and others become suspicious that the tape is fake but they ask him were is lelouch. of course suzku don't say were he is but inste4aed he says that snizel broke free of the geass. then they ask him what does he mean by that and then a big explosion happens miles away from the interrogation site. some look to see what the explosion was about while others was still guarding suzaku. but they do turn on the news. what they see is sniezal giving a speech.

The writer said that Lelouch is dead in an interview. IIRC, he said that even though some viewed Lelouch's death as a tragedy, he liked to think of it as a happy ending because Lelouch created a better tomorrow for those he'd left behind. I'm pretty sure he also said that he didn't intend to make an R3, but if he did, Lelouch wouldn't play a part.

Of course, they could always just retcon that statement and bring him back, but I think it would kind of defeat the purpose of the ending.

And something I think might hint that lelouch is alive is that C.C was talking freely about the Geass in the open air. It would be easy for the carriage rider to hear her about the geass. Unless she inteneded for him to hear her, I believe C.C gave her immortality to Lelouch. It could've been given to him after he died and it revived him.

But that's just pure speculation. he could be dead.

And by the way...... I really don't want to be idiot or something, but technically Lelouch is dead....... Suzaku put sword on him and he died Nunnaly-san by hes side in the end of the Second Season. Nunnally-san and Kallen-san forgived him after he was dead.

BUT!!!!! in the final scene of the season 2 C.C TALKED LELOUCH similar way when she was talking to Marianne.... So maeby Lelouch do the same as Marianne and moved his mind in World Of C!!!!! But in real world Lelouch is dead.

Another possibility would be that C.C. gave her immortality to Lelouch, just like V.V. did with Charles.

The fact that C.C. would still be alive is that she gave it away freely and is just mortal now.

V.V. was forced to do so and died as the result.

Just my 2 cents on the ending of CG R2, seeing the amount of twists in the series i wouldnt exclude any possible solution until i see the next season myself to be honest.
