  • I'm finding comfort in some of these posts that I wasn't the only one that had dreams about this cartoon. Mine were more sexual but I see the alien thing, too. Has anyone investigated this cartoon more fully? I was born in the early 50's and may have viewed this who knows how many times. But it may have had more dream impact when I was 9? Don't know but this is the weirdest cartoon ever and yes --- terrifying!

  • This is another one thats not one the Looney Tunes DVD Collection and I don't know why?

  • Is it weird that I really liked this cartoon as a kid, despite the fact that I found it terrifying? I kind of wanted the fish family to come after Porky when he escaped. Lol.

  • @Ilikequiche101 I totally agree!! I have no idea why it has always stuck in my head as being so so so weird yet I always hoped it was on.

  • I too used to get freaked the fuck out by this cartoon as a kid.But to be honest about it now that I'm an adult, and I know some shit or have experienced some really strange and messed up life changing shit that this cartoon most likely has something to do with ALIEN ABDUCTION and that's why it bothered me so much as a kid.You other folks out there who were affected in this way by it as kids if you don't already know so maybe look into this subject. You may find out something about your past,,,

  • I had nightmares of being thrown in the oven back when I was seven due to watching this.

  • The porky most scariest cartoon :S

  • Kinkiest Warner Brothers short ever!

  • this cartoon started what is now a fetish this is my fav one

  • to 143AC: I think this cartoon came out a year before Mel Blanc took over Porky's voice. You're right - this is Joe Daughtery's voice in this one - and he stuttered for real, and so badly, that they limited his script so they wouldn't run over budget!

  • This cartoon would probably never be seen on TV again as far as I know since for at least 2 minutes, Porky Pig is seen without any clothes on, even after his dream was over.

  • I don't know about this but, I swear there was this cartoon in color, or did I got wrong?

  • @Thekinggamelon It was Colorized In 1993 If I remember Correctly

  • @Thekinggamelon I used to see this cartoon in vivid color way back in the early 1970s, years before colorization. I've been wondering what ever happened to it in color, and I think you're the first person I've run into who remembers seeing it in color.

  • Oh wow, for all these years the memory of this cartoon always stuck with me, creeped the hell out of me when I saw it as a kid, brought back memories when I saw it here and it's still freaky, glad too see I am not alone on this one.

  • It's funny that when Porky woke up from that dream his shirt dissapeared.

  • OK?....

  • This cartoon scared the shit out of me when I was little...it still unnerves me now.

  • @ObjetTrouve24 You, sir, need to get your mind out of the gutter. Didn't you see that that fish had a wife and kids? You have a dirty mind.

  • Anyone else realize how sexual this cartoon is? It's like a big metaphor for fetish. Abduction fantasy (especially being victimized in his "dream" and waking to find his clothes gone), voraphilia, knife play, shirt cocking, 1950's household, asphyxiation, fire play, bondage, heck, the octopus even seems like a shout out to tentacle sex. And the fish with the snake in his mouth at about 6:00 sure looks suggestive to me.

  • @ObjetTrouve24

It is by far the weirdest sexually deviant cartoon I have ever seen in primetime. Freaked the hell out of my as a kid.

  • @ObjetTrouve24 I know what you're saying. Fetishs/sadomasochist sex were extremely taboo subjects to talk about in the 1930s, but of course they have always existed in history. I think perhaps one of the animators was into that and maybe was venting through a metephoric cartoon to write and draw to escape social taboos of the time.

  • @emily7103 Oh seriously! I really wonder how much of it was on purpose and how much of it was like a freudian slip. Either way, it's fascinating to see how we express ourselves when we feel like we can't express ourselves. One way or the other, it's gotta come out somehow. I looked around, and it seems a lot of absurdist cartoons have something kinky going on. I wonder if anyone has written a book or something about it.

  • As you all know, this cartoon inexplicitly used the 1937-38 Looney Tunes theme ("The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down") when it was either redrawn in 1968 or after it was computer colorized in 1990, 1992 or 1995.

  • I had reoccurring nightmares about this as a young child... with me in Porky's place.

  • Heh, Porky forgot to untie the boat. Common mistake with unexpected result...the boat almost takes off like an airplane! XD

  • I remember watching this as a kid...thought the kidde fish were cute!

  • I first watched this "Looney Tunes"movie cartoon on WOR TV Ch.9 NYC's"Looney Tunes Show"With Mr.Herb Sheldon in 1959. I enjoyed it then and it still entertains me to this day.

  • one of my favorites. ive missed it. thanks for putting it up!

  • maybe this is the first looney tune to have that merry go round broke down song before rover's rival go that music

  • No it isn't, sometimes TV packages replace music like this. I have seen this cartoon with correct music intact.

  • @BadBooking

Thanks for pointing that out [see my other comment.].

  • really can you give me the link to it please.

    thanks so much

  • How high do you have to get to make something like this? Gesundtheit!

  • Porky Pig was doing fine fishing, until the the fish started fishing for him.

  • This cartoon used to scare the bejesus out of me as a kid D:

  • Me too I haven't seen it in years I always felt so bad for poor Porky especially when he was in the roasting pan in the oven with the flames dancing around. At least it was all a dream.

  • Yup. The only one that made me cry as a kid. Porky was usually in control of the situation, except here.

  • me too!

  • why ?

  • because it is terrifying.

  • because Porky almost dies naked and terrorized in a fiery oven

  • @RobotHolocaust - Scared hell out of me as a kid as well!

  • omg it's the Swine Flew!

    When Pigs Fly!

  • does anyone know of any other cartoons like this where a character gets cooked, please reply.

  • And it';s the wrong theme music, too..a lot of that hapepned in the 1990s to these. But it is in black and white with original visual titles. NOT that pentagon for WB-Seven Arts or Korean colored.:)[ha ha]

  • Mel Blanc didn't do Porky's voice in these early

Looney Tunes Movie cartoons..Joe Dougherty did

    Porky's voice.

  • omg this is amazing, this is an awesome vore

  • Porky was fat in his early cartoons.

  • Well, he is a pig.

  • try putting 1936 in the movie title. i was looking for this cartoon by year, but there's too many other fish tale titles.

  • CBCD said:

"Yeah, his first appearance dipicts him insanely fat. "

    Well, he was a pig.

  • That'a not even the original theme!

  • @SteveCarras Nope. Back in the late 60s when WB/7Arts put it out as a hand-coloured toon, it had the "Beauty and the Beast" opening music and an opening theme similar to the music heard in the climactic scene. Given the opening titles, that was probably the correct music, but apparently there wasn't any way for Warners to preserve it.

  • @tramiel231

Wrong, I was talking about the topen title musuic. The Beauty and the Beast theme can be heard if you'll look at showings of Plane Dippy or others.

  • Does anyone know where to find the one called Pigs is Pigs?

  • So wonderful to find this one online.......THANKS!

  • I'm so gald to see this one posted it was my favorite one as a kid.

  • call homeland security! porky pig just committed an act of terrorism against the navy!

  • I remember this one! Thanks so much for posting this one! WE should have ALL of the Looney Tunes, etc., with Bugs, Porky, and the rest, including those with no star characters, in a mega collection, in chronological order. THAT would be a treasure! I hope they'll do it someday... SOON! Thanks again!

  • Well, the Looney Tunes are out on DVD and they're cancelling their Golden Collection after this year so they can think of a new way to release them on DVD next year. If you're lucky, they probably will do a chronological order DVD set (I doubt it, but hey, you never know).

  • I saw this cartoon on nickelodian as a kid

and man did it look frightening. i saw

    the colored version.

sometimes i ask myself what was Jack King

thinking?! all n all thanks for posting.

  • @JoedamovieGUY back when nickelodeon meant quality entertainment

  • Hey, does anyone out there have the colorized version of this cartoon?

  • That was the craziest cartoon I have ever seen. I think I will be having nightmares about it now.

  • It really freaked me out in color but this was some tale Porky never wants to talk about again! Neither do I. But thanks for posting it.

  • This cartoon always freaked me out as a kid, especially when the fish cuts Porky's clothes off and puts him in the oven.

  • i love this cartoon. i haven't seen it in probably 45 years but remembered it from when i was a kid. thanks for posting it.

  • Porky Pig was such a fat ass back then. I saw another Porky Pig short where he was twice this size.

  • Yeah, his first appearance dipicts him insanely fat.

  • How did Porky get naked upon waking up, even if he only lost his shirt in the dream he had? It kinda didn't make sense.

  • It must have been an animaton goof.

  • Or he ripped it off while having the nightmare.

  • Thanks for posting!
