Most other hosts ib other contries let their guests do the answers, and that made it more entertaining.

Thanx for posting this example of why WML still entertains. Gil Fates wrote WML worked at 75% straight game playing (DK, AF, BC) and 25% comedy (Allen). When AF and BC or EVEN DKilgallen came up with funny things, it was a bonanza. Kilgallen seriously played to win: when she said something funny, her seriousness made it doubly funny. In 1958, she questioned a horse owner thinking the transport in question was a CAR. Boffo laughs and howls from the audience. She eventually laughed, too.

Do you touch the people externally? LOL Even in his late stage, Fred Allen is funny funny man. If you get a chance to listen to his radio programs on streaming audio, do. His radio programs are still funny stuff.
