it pisses me off to read offensive comments towards the bands that are making the covers, from fans of the original versions, often saying"don't try to copy" or "that's ridivulous" etc

If you, self-proclamed "fans" don't know the meaning of a cover then don't spread bullshits in the covers done by REAL FANS of the songs/bands that you think you are fans, while you can't evenrespect and understand a cover,DIO wouldn't like u to be his fan

@CaioJesusSoneca I agree with you, but Dio loved all fans, even the bad ones. :-) To underscore the other things you say: A cover is done by a band as a tribute to the original artist. They (the ones doing the cover) are the real fans. The people who don't appreciate the cover are not. I even appreciate Pat Boone for doing covers of metal songs, even though I don't like his music.

I wonder if it would have been better with Tarja doing the vocals? Could have been hilarious with her grasp of English. Marco has no chance on the softer parts, but he does ok during the aggressive section. There are very few singers who could do that transition well. I agree that Blind Guardian's version is much better.

these bands are not disrespecting Dio, they grew up listening to him and its a real blow to the heart. They are showing their love in their own way. This is their goodbye. Appreciate that and quit being critical. No, they can't match Dio, no one can. But they can share with their fans what "they" loved and what influenced them.

No, no, no. I do like NW, but this song needs a 1) a good singer and 2) a good guitar. NW has the singer but not the guitar I am afraid. Therefor I think the Blind Guardian version is better.

Best cover I've heard of this. If you account for the crappy audio this kicks Blind Guardian's version in the face (and I like BG). This is on par with Rob Rock's cover of Last in Line. Great great job by Marco
