I can't remember if it's this video or another one (been awhile since I watched it), but I totally agree when Greg says it's the "uncool" engineering kid who's busting his balls to make something of himself who is the real rebel (in a good sense). He's the one who deserves the most praise. I have a lot of respect for people from any background in school who do what they feel it takes to make a positive change or accomplish something (and I mean really make it, not just talk about it).
Damn right - the word libertarian comes from liberty, the same word as liberal. It's really been misused in the US for the past half-century though. Liberal was supposed to mean guaranteeing liberty for all, which may support some social reforms but was never intended to empower the state. Certain government interventions may help, but I'm definitely not for the idea of government doing it just because it can. Look up Ordoliberalism if you want what I identify with most closely

He's such a prick - liberal ideals are what separate us from societies where you don't have liberal freedoms. Freedom of speech is a liberal idea.
Conservatism is important as a stabilizing force, but pure conservatism, if you break it down, is suffocating. Conservatism is important for remembering our roots, but it fails us if we allow ourselves to be tethered to the ground.
You sir, have no idea what you're talking about. You're nlt describing today's social conservatism. And Greg os not a social conservative.
Also, freedom of speech is an idea akin to classical liberalism, not modern social liberalism (where things such a "hate speech" laws and political correctness stifle free speech).
He's one of my favorite neocons. Okay, I meant that he's one of the few neocons that I can listen to and not puke.

@funkbrother216 Greg Gutfeld is a libertarian and anti-war. A neocon is a pro-war big government conservative. In other words, he isn't a neocon.

@HerrSchenkel
Modern liberalism is not only about controlling speech, it's about controlling thought.
