  • Beautiful tone, and a real romantic. This is awesome.

  • awfully amazing vibrato....I wish I had the same....!!!

  • A dream piece. So exquisite!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes I agree with you, judycfs! And I do love Shlomo Mintz's performance. However, my teacher wants me to play this piece much slower, which is rather difficult to do without ruining the melody. Do you know about another, slower version? ;)

  • The best of art and technique combined!

  • the double stops part is difficult to play so well but he does it effortlessly.

  • Beautiful! Haven't heard anything like this in a while

  • Nicely played, like it should be heard. Thanks very much.

  • shlomo mintz is one of the best violinists ive heard in a while. Hes very expressive.

  • @012hanigl In a while? Where have you been? He's almost 60 years old!

  • ¡Caray! Cada vez estoy más convencido de que la música es el portento más real y verdadero en todo el planeta.

  • yeah guys, he's just amazing

  • I have a lot of ShlomoMintz recordings-CDs and I have also Mendelssohn-BruchViolin Concertos/SHLOMO MINTZ ChicagoSymphony Orchestra Claudio Abbado,so I can listen to& enjoy those concertos, but sometime it's very nice to watch his play.I like this concert with Israel Philharmonic Orchestra Zubin Mehta too.I also adore his recording- Lalo:Symphonie Espagnole..withIsrael Philharmonic Orchestra&Zubin Mehta-Live recordings,it's my favourite..There is the same orchestra and the same conductor! Thanks!

  • He just had that special quality!

  • his playing is very comfortable.. and sweet

    i love his interpretation.

  • His focus is total. I've heard this piece thousands of times but this interpretation still manages to bring tears to my eyes!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Wow! His tone is... phenomenal! And his virbrato up 'in the stratosphere'... wow!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is very beautiful. Now I see why he became very famous at a young age. His tone and expression are incredible.

  • La interpretacion es indiscutiblemente MAGNIFICA!! Como toca Mintz.. Todo encima del puente

  • His expressive use of vibrato is incredible!

  • es bueno musico.

  • nejkrasnejsi co znam!

  • La obra es lo más cercano a la idea de la belleza pero la versión no me gustó nada, al menos de este movimiento.

  • Wow. Is it just me or is this some incredibly sexy stuff here?

  • hahahaha says the red Priest of Venice!

  • I've definitely got a thing for brilliant red haired violinists.

  • They are pretty awesome, starting with none other than Vivaldi! But does Shlomo have red hair? I had a masterclass with him and it only seemed blonde

  • His hair is indisputably red on my screen as well as his CD covers. But these pictures and this footage are a few years old so perhaps his hair has gotten more pale. When was your class with him? Guessing from his style of playing, I'll bet he is a very effective communicator, and a very genuine, nice person. Yes??

  • It was around 2002 when I had the first masterclass with him. He was very direct with his comments, much like his playing, and gave willingly of his time for the masterclasses.

  • I also like brilliant strawberry blonde violinists. (!!!)

  • we'll never be able to thank Mendelssohn for having wrote this beautyful music...

  • 1st pleaaaaaaaaseeeeee!!!!!!

  • please please 1st movement!))

  • PLEASE,could you post 1 st m't?

  • Now I'm pissed, you don't have the first movement for this either? lol

  • hahaha! same problem! :(

  • I admire how he uses bowings and fingerings other than the tired ones outlined by Galamian, which are typically used by all the female Asian violinists from Juilliard.

  • I meant to rate this five stars - sorry. Shlomo Mintz is really the finest violinist in my eyes. If I could emulate ANYONE on that instrument, it would be Shlomo (well, Isaac Stern, too). He is pure, unaffected, classy and classic.
