  • hello Memphis slim,as a guitar builder myself, I know it's not so much high action that makes for "loud",but rather the "break angle" over the saddle (all other things being equal) that gives volume.talk to a luthier before doing anything drastic, and yes, galaghers are great guitars.

  • I have exactly the same guitar, and I"m a finger picker.. I found the action to be high, more for Bluegrass flat pick type players, and I'm considering lowering the strings a bit to more fit my style.. beautiful guitar and this baby is LOUD. Galagher says the higher action creates the extra strong volume (which I believe), so that's the tradeoff, less volume for more playability.

  • im thinking about buying one of these...how was the action from the factory? did it come set up for .13's? how is it for flatpicking?
