Can anyone tell me if this game works for WINDOWS 7 cause I want buy it and play it on my LAPTOP on holiday.
I ddint buy it for Xbox 360 cause it got bad reviews when it first came out but I just got my old DMC 3 out and was hooked again so hope this works for WINDOWS 7 cause I cant take my xbox 360 on holiday.
If anyone knows pls tell me(if this works on WINDOWS 7) I use DIRECT X 11 and dont want to use direct x 10 at all.

@IanRoughGuide: Your game will work, but either on DirectX10 or DirectX9. DMC4 was released way before Windows 7 was released, therefore it only uses what was then thought to be the latest thing which was Vista and DX10. You can force it to run under DX9, but that's about it. This is something the devs have hardwired into the game, and unless you're a serious nerd and work for the dev team, the DirectX11 engine for THIS GAME SPECIFICALLY does not exist. The same applies to Assassin's Creed.

DirectX10 games will always run on DirectX10. But it will work fine on Win7 as long as you got proper hardware.
DirectX9 games will always run on DirectX9. But it will also work fine on Win7.
Keep in mind that most games are backwards-compatible, so in any case you should be good.
Lost Planet 2 uses DirectX11, so it will work fine, though chances are that it will run really choppy on your laptop since DX11 makes your GPU work very hard unless you have a strong graphics chip.

Your laptop seems fine, but that HD5650 isn't necessarily the fastest thing out right now unfortunately. Just make sure to adjust your graphical settings to your taste and your games of choice should work fine on your laptop.

Well guys even though Ninja Theory is makign DMC the new one it's only helping Capcom make it so Capcom, is still making it. I think Capcom should consider creating a DMC in which it's protagonist will be Sparda the father of Dante.I think It will be great to play the story of Sparda.

@johny5mpellos i thought of that 2 but if you recall that some of the bosses from DMC 3 and DMC 2 were also enemies of Sparda (with the exception of Beowolf i think they were friends first shortly before Sparda's betrayal.) then u would have to put together certain elements from the anime series. it would be a very painstaking assignment to just give to another developer. but i do believe that it will come to pass. just be patient. besides the new one coming out is gonna Rock.
You play both of them, correct. But the emphasis on this game's story was much more on Nero than Dante. Dante sadly acts more as a "supportive character" at best near the end of the game.
Why CAPCOM decided to go on this route I have no idea, but whatever. I don't really follow the DMC series that much.
@xXxa7xHxC half way throught the game, u play as nero. the other half u play as Dante. there both good, u just have to get far enough to understand there purposes.
@soma1509 Sorry man, but Bayonetta automatically loses to the DMC series simply because she looks ridiculous. Though, I'll agree that DMC4 was pretty easy, I haven't played 2 in a long time, but I know 1 and 3 were much harder than 4. I think of 4 as more of a Nero introduction to the storyline rather than a full out DMC game anyway. If they only had Dante and focused purely on him, he'd have been a lot more evolved and I think the game would have been better overall.

@soma1509 Nero is the only whiny one though. Dante is the main char of the series, and never has been whiny. He's always "too cool for school" or sarcastic/comedic. You should get the DMC 5th anniversary collection if you can play ps2 games. It had the first 3 games in it and if you play at least 1 and 3 you'd understand what I'm talking about with wishing Dante was in all of 4 lol.

En verdad no se por que añadieron otro personaje en este DMC4. Lo único que se es que Nero es un nuevo personaje en la serie, tal vez con la misma táctica de la serie de Final Fantasy, siempre con nuevos personajes con cada serie.
Los dos tienen abilidades similares, pero vas a ver que Nero va a ser más facil de controlar que Dante a menos que estés familiarizado con otras verciones como DMC3.
Yo dudo que esto sea el fin para Dante porque él es la mayor parte de la serie.

I'll take any kickass beat-em-up characters any day instead of whining characters here. This is what pissed me off most about this game. Of course I am referring to Nero. Dante's ok for the most part.
game looks super hawt, can't believe I never bought it, just put together a beast computer, so i'm looking forward to it. only prob with windows 7 (and every new windows that comes) is the compatibility with older games (not talking about DMC since it's not that old)

I only bought Laptop for travel and play games so far I just got Assasins Creed and that works fine 100%.
I'm gonna be getting Lost planet 2 tomorow.
So even if a Game says Direct 10 or 9 it might still run on Direct 11.

I just downloaded LP2 works fine.
Even asks b4 loading if you want to use Direct x11 or direct x 9.
It also has a Benchmark test on game which shows it running fine on High level.
I just played 20 mins first level and game is pretty good and runs well.
I know thiers better Graphics cards out thier but this came with Machine,but to be honest I really Like it considering the price of machine.
I know LP1 is Direct 10 or 9 I was just wondering if I can play it on Windows 7.

You play both of them, correct. But the emphasis on this game's story was much more on Nero than Dante. Dante sadly acts more as a "supportive character" at best near the end of the game.
Why CAPCOM decided to go on this route I have no idea, but whatever. I don't really follow the DMC series that much.

@soma1509 Sorry man, but Bayonetta automatically loses to the DMC series simply because she looks ridiculous. Though, I'll agree that DMC4 was pretty easy, I haven't played 2 in a long time, but I know 1 and 3 were much harder than 4. I think of 4 as more of a Nero introduction to the storyline rather than a full out DMC game anyway. If they only had Dante and focused purely on him, he'd have been a lot more evolved and I think the game would have been better overall.

@Nidhogg151 : Despite the fact that Bayonetta [or Cereza...however you want to go about it], kind of looked like a badly chiseled sex toy, the game still has potential. I wouldn't be surprised if either there was a sequel or a PC version coming out with some extra content.
I've only played DMC4 and a little bit of 3, though it kept crashing on my system so I couldn't do much.
I'd still prefer a Bitch [read: Witch] to do all of the kickassery instead of a whiny main character.

@soma1509 Nero is the only whiny one though. Dante is the main char of the series, and never has been whiny. He's always "too cool for school" or sarcastic/comedic. You should get the DMC 5th anniversary collection if you can play ps2 games. It had the first 3 games in it and if you play at least 1 and 3 you'd understand what I'm talking about with wishing Dante was in all of 4 lol.

Dante está ahí como siempre, pero nada mas añadieron un nuevo personaje: Nero.
Puedes jugar usando los dos durante el medio del juego, pero primero usas Nero cuando empiezas.

Bueno, en esta versión Nero es el protagonista, pero Dante viene al medio del juego.
Los dos se hacen enemigos primeramente, pero despues se dan confianza y trabajan juntos al final.

En verdad no se por que añadieron otro personaje en este DMC4. Lo único que se es que Nero es un nuevo personaje en la serie, tal vez con la misma táctica de la serie de Final Fantasy, siempre con nuevos personajes con cada serie.
Los dos tienen abilidades similares, pero vas a ver que Nero va a ser más facil de controlar que Dante a menos que estés familiarizado con otras verciones como DMC3.
Yo dudo que esto sea el fin para Dante porque él es la mayor parte de la serie.

I've honestly never played the series, but I've already seen some trailer for GoW 3...looks pretty sweet.
I'll take any kickass beat-em-up characters any day instead of whining characters here. This is what pissed me off most about this game. Of course I am referring to Nero. Dante's ok for the most part.
But of course, there's always Bayonetta.

game looks super hawt, can't believe I never bought it, just put together a beast computer, so i'm looking forward to it. only prob with windows 7 (and every new windows that comes) is the compatibility with older games (not talking about DMC since it's not that old)
