The reason is that people go to church for different reasons one major reason is to look at other people to see how they dress, act and all that kind of stuff its sad cuz when you do that you lost the essence of worship thats the reason I love that part so much.. praise and worship is the essence of worship!

I really love this song. I got this album, it was about three songs i liked on the album, though. "The altar", "Before i die", and "Something about the name Jesus, pt. 2". The rest of the songs sounded too much like Christian pop songs. I was hoping Kirk go back to his "Kirk and the fam" days, on this album. But he did "The altar". That's about as close as he got.

I really hopes he goes all out on his next album, leave the Christian pop alone. Get back to GOSPEL!

@LogicLyfe A little history about "Church music" in it's original state it could only be sang by male monks and there were no words... Gregorian chant google it. Kirks type of music reached me when old gospel music couldn't when I was 16 I was jamming "stomp" not Mahalia Jackson. He is reaching people, he reached me. God wants to reach all people and it takes more than one genre.

I've been a fan of his music, except for his last two albums. They appear to be filler albums. Albums just to fulfill his contract. On his last two albums, it was three or four songs, out of the two, that i really liked. When he did God's property, that album was still within gospel lines, and had a little touch of hip hop, i loved it.

This is a very beautiful song. I am pentecostal and I have been out of church for awhile and I have recently given my life back to Jesus and my church is on FIRE for Jesus and this song relates to that so much. People are drawing nearer to Jesus every service. It's because the alter is a healing place and they depict this beautifully. I love the vocals. It's anointed.
