Al-asad didn't detonate the nuke, the first horseman did. Hence the XBOX360 achievement, 'the first horseman'. You get that if you complete shock and awe on veteran. And also, you can see the aftermath everywhere for unlimited time with noclip and Godmode enabled on PC
