  • he is a little bit skinny...

  • hi! daeron is gret dog i love it! and you're nice teacher :)

how old is he? how do you learn hi things ? i see he is good dog but if situation is that he should be bad in a way of defending master or hause.... can he?

i would like to have malinous so im curious, greetings from croatia and sorry for my bad english(grammar kills me) :)

  • Beautiful Mal - he's not underweight, he's an athlete... That's how a healthy mal look! Too bad about the Evanescence song though!! ;)

  • From a working malinois breeder, owner and competitor of sport dogs. To all the people saying the dog is thin. The dog is thin. The dog is not unhealthy or undercared for. So put down the animal planet rescue dog mentality for one minute and realize that thin for a dog, is better than fat. And that atheletic dogs tend to be lean. Because they are strong, little furnaces that do not sit on thier assess all day long.

  • @MalinoisDaKine Well said, most people don't realize that a dog is at its ideal weight when you can just see the outline of the ribs. Her Mal looks great!

  • Funny how all the people who actually own Mals are saying he's not underweight. I own one too (albeit a very stocky one) and I don't see anything wrong with the dog in the video. No freaking way my guy could put all 4 feet on a frisbee like that!

  • The music killed the whole video

  • top dog

  • you can find this dog in Philppines . many ..!

  • I live on long island and i cannot find a breeder or any litters near me or even in my state please help !!!!!!!

  • @weebig @weebig youll have to go far to find a mal breeder... i live in canada and i was lucky ..took me 4 months to find a breeder but i found one about a 6hour drive away which was lucky .. i had to fly her home... look farther away and youll find one youll just have to fly it home just research the breeder if you wanna msg me feel free and maybe i can find a breeder around here for you

  • i really dont get the sitting IN the bowl thing

  • Comment removed

  • Few too many ribs showing on that dog. Lovely animal tho`.

  • @chanctonbury63 he's really not that skinny. l have a malinois and have been raising them for years, their metabolisms are just really fast, especially if they're used for working, so it's hard for them to put on a lot of weight. He looks like a healthy weight, so no worries. Great looking dog @dalma91

  • @chanctonbury63 He's not underweight. I have a Mal of my own and she's not under-weight at all. Their picky eaters and will eat when they're hungry. Every Mal I've met have been able to see their ribs. It's a genetic trait in Belgians.

  • 1. das lied passt gar nicht du hättest real sound nehmen sollen und

    2. der kann nur scheiß tricks

  • would have been so much better without the song.

  • he is smart~

  • Also einige sollten mal zuerst die Deutsche Sprache erlernen bevor Sie vollmundig einen Kommentar abgeben, ist ja peinlich so etwas zu lesen.

  • please YOUTUBE! no more Evanescence background song...

  • ce chien est malade ou koi? on voit les cotes.... nourris le avant de vouloir en faire un chien de cirque

  • The dog has a spezial neckband it looks like one with electric!!! This is not funny! Look at the right Hand of the Woman and the reaction of the dog...!

  • @Lebisan

    I think it's just a clicker,you're over reacting!:)))

  • @Lebisan You have not clue what you are saying. If it were an e-color, it would be on tighter and higher up the dog's neck. How would the dog feel the shock if there is nothing there to make contact. Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

  • @Lebisan Yeah? and your point would be? Stim collars are one of the best ways to train Mals. The ones I use I can put on my hand or wrist and turn all the way up to 2 or 2 1/2 and barely feel anything. It's not cruel, it's just used to get their attention. I take it from your reaction you don't train many dogs.

  • I'm in training to be a vet nurse, and I have experiance with Malinois and Tervurens... He is slim, not skinny or underweight, just as many Malinois are. There is nothing wrong with him at all.

Love the tricks! Such an intelegent breed. I adore his colour, don't see many with a lot of overlay here. :) They're all so light!

  • @Wizbash you're illiterate

  • @5380513 Congratulations for noticing! ;) Thankfully, I was literate enough to scrape an A in my GCSEs and was not judged on my random Youtube comments.

  • nicee

  • nice work on the tricks

  • There is nothing wrong with this mal's weight. great looking smart dog!

  • hi i just have 1 question do malinois cast there hairs?

  • @MrHiphopattack yess , I have a malinois now, I had an german shepard before , in comparison the malinois casts way less greats from Belgium

  • he isnt happy your dog and he is smart too :/

  • what is the diferent from German..!!!

i want a dog for protection and for the house..

    the rotwailer..??

    can you help..??

    thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • @bronzesel thank you very much..!!!!

i see your video many times..!!!

i cant beleave how clever that dog is..!!

    gridings from Greece..

  • smart dog..!!! nice training,,!!!1

  • My malinois eats as much as he wants and he never looked as awfully skinny as this one. Mine is very strong, agile, fast and happy. And he looks absolutely beautiful and healthy. I don't care about breed standards. It's just not right to make a dog strave because of the standard.

  • @scat07 OMG I AGREE! If you want your dog to be breed standard then let him eat then do what Belgian Malinois do best... play!

  • @scat07 Another idiot. Why would you let your dog eat as much as he wants? You think he's thinking, Oh, I shouldn't eat another bite, I'm getting a belly? And what exactly is "strave"?

  • @RayPaganJr You are the idiot. Of course I meant "starve", but I don't expect you to find out. It's much easier to be cynical and call others 'idiots' if you don't agree with them. My dog has no big belly. I let him eat as much as he wants as long as he has no weight issues. My previous dog lived for 16 years, which is great for a big dog. He also ate as much as he wanted all his life, and he was never fat. Some dogs are simply more intelligent than men.

  • @scat07 I do agree with you about breed standards. I limit what my dog eats twice a day. He's a retired French Ring competitor. Perfect health. Thank God he's never been to the vet for any reason other than the typical shots. I have seen too many dog owners that just fill up their dog's bowl and let them eat freely all day and they are obese. My calling you an idiot was you calling this person's dog "awfully skinny". The "strave" comment was me being obnoxious and I apologize for that.

  • I can't put weight on my Mal either. He's that skinny too...and perfectly happy at that!

  • malinois should not be fat dog they are slim kind of dogs, and that's how they should look

  • yay!

  • unbelievable, he does EVERYTHING!!!

  • I love the dog, Hate the music, this music makes me sick.

  • you should feed him only food that starts with meat in the ingredients list...he is a bit skinny, but not MAL-nourished.. ahahha

  • Seeing Mals all the time, And MWDs at that, I do not think this guy is MAL-nourished (corny I know).. hahah He is fine probably high energy, something to be careful about but she clearly feeds him treats which appears to work well for him! Most mals word for toys!! If there were ribs showing more, or he was acting lathargic, then i wouls be concerned..

  • Don't let these people get you down. I am CONSTANTLY being told my dogs are too skinny. But 1)Dogs in america are OBESE and thats what people are used to seeing 2)my dogs are much more active than the typical housedog (long hikes, large yard, etc) One of my dogs simply doesnt eat that much, and the other is a very high energy/metabolism mix and she simply burns fat quickly It's very frustrating, but I know my dogs are healthy and happy and thats all that matters.

    Great training, beautiful dog

  • No that Mainois is perfect..weight should be between 70-75 pounds..That dog is fit!

  • I too have a mali... she is a free feeder of high quality dogfood and is equally thin. She is on top health. They are a very powerful breed. She radiates heat because her metabolism is so high.. This dog is fine and within standard weight.

  • ทำไมผอมจังอ่ะ?

  • My Malinois (Cas) is starting agility training and already knows obedience he is scary smart and learns it fast! I LOVE THIS BREED SOOOO MUCH!

Thanks for the trick ideas LOVE your mali as well!

  • Yo is this Brittany that used to go to campion that got booked for running brains?!

  • might I ask, what treats do you find are best for training?

  • wow ! ..

  • how do i teach these tricks on my human brothers...

  • Malinois are similar to greyhound they are a ghost breed and very lean. No body fat. When undergoing surgery caution and mal qualified vet is a must because anesthesia can kill them easily. I know I have 2 malinois. They are lean.

  • I had a female mal long time ago and she never gain weight, the more food I gave her the more she ate, she climb my 10' wall fence easy very strong female but she was skinny.

  • very cool video - cool dog

Maybe you could build on the trick and have him fold the laundry and put it away.

  • your backround music is an overkill

  • You have a smart and beautiful dog! I think he looks normal for a malinois, my puppy looks like the same, and the other (working line) malinois dogs what i saw looks like this too. :)

  • Mal's are naturally hard keepers, they burn off calories literally as fast as they consume them. My boss, a highly experienced dog trainer for security, is a huge mal buff and his is ribby as well... Some will keep well while others not so much. I think her dog looks perfectly healthy and is obviously well kept. Seeing a dogs ribs when it turns at certain angles HARDLY classifies it as emaciated.

    Get over yourselves folks.

  • I like this dog, very pretty, but I disliked this video anyway because of this music.

  • thanx Nezumi! The thing is that a lot of dogs are coping with overweight problems. But you never hear people talking about it, as if it is "normal" If people care about the health of their dogs they should stop fatting their dogs. But I guess this will never end...

  • Great dog!!!!!

  • Awesome dog, very smart, i was kinda disappointed by the music tho, everyone uses this track

  • Very nice :) I like your dog!

But I agree that the music is unnecessary

@kowaxkowax: Malinois never get fat when they have the chance to run and play as they need to. My malinois can join me when I go for a ride in the woods with my horse... she will always stay slim.

  • when did you star training your mal advanced stuff??

  • Man nice Mal I just got one he is 13 weeks old I LOVE him I hope I can do cool tricks with him like this when he is older!!

  • @BelgianMalinoisfreak train right away they learn super quick mine new to sit and wait for the food shake paw and sit and lay down at like 12-16 weeks when i trained him they love to learn new tricks but will always give you a paw after you teach them hahaha

  • Awesome video and a beautiful dog! He has about the same coloring and conformation as mine (skinny) :) Mine has weighed the same since he was about 10 months old and I still have him on his puppy diet. But he goes and goes and goes all day long so it's nearly impossible to get him to gain weight. Fantastic, high drive animals!

  • seems very inteligent, i don't think mine can do it ^^

  • Wow the malinois its a cool dog

  • I just want to point out that most Mals are actually very slim, mine included. They aren't made to be heavy, thick dogs.

Anyhow, your Mal is gorgeous :) They are such amazing, entergetic, intelligent animals.

  • this dog is NOT to slim! Its a Malinois and its nearly impossible to make them fatter...

  • Toll, das nenn ich mal Kopfbeschäftigung... Wie bringt man einem Hund so was bei?

  • My dog Clutch gets loads of chow, same thing, ribs showing. On the other hand, clearing a six foot fence is not a problem for him.

  • He doesn't look skinny to me- just many other dogs are overweight!

  • its not only ur one opinion that dog its skinny its really skinny... for normal dog u cant see scelet bones... so girl dont show ur dog trick but better feed ur dog... for me would be shame to show like this dog in public....

  • @kirute it's obviously, you don't have any experience with the breed Malinois what so ever. This breed has a slim body and should stay slim. Officially you should see the ribs slightly. This is one of the lightest shepherds breed with a very fast metabolism which is normal. So girl keep up the good work, I think your Mailinois is great! By the way, I have a Malinois of my own and also a very good muscled slim body!!!!

  • @JIR74 I agree... this is a great looking dog. My Malinois is a very slim and trim dog, and everyone is continually telling me to fatten up my dog. Drives me nuts. Don't give me weight advice when your lab is 20# overweight and has hip problems! Anyways, it's nice to see someone educated about the breed!

  • he looks so deprived, poor doggie... :( music is not appropriate....BOO..

  • very nice dog and good trick I should try it.

  • those dogs are like machine, i always dream of owning one but i cant afford the price in Canada, great video

  • He might be a little thin but If he's anything like my dog he burns so much energy that I am not sure he can eat enough to put on weight. The only time my dog is not moving is when he is sleeping and that is not always given. Don't fret it, these dogs are extremely high energy and as bronzesel below said they are not for your average dog owner. Cool Dog!!!!

  • Amazing!

I have a Malinois and I know they are fantastic!

  • The standard FCI say the male malinois have, ideal, 37 kg-81 lbs.

Due to the energy level of the breed it is hard to put weight on a mal.

    Beautiful dog,and good training.

  • My Mal mix is built the same way and gets plenty of good quality food, and he is very strong as well.

  • The dog is too skinny!

  • Your dog is beautiful and wonderfully trained...and to those who think he is too skinny...Malinois have a very low body fat to muscle ratio...they are sensitive to anesthesia due to this. Some mals are just harder to keep weight on then others and he is not unhealthy. I have a dog that is just naturally skinny...he has now, at 7 , finally put a bit of fat on over his ribs and hips.

  • as long as the dog is healthy and taken care of, nice training.

  • beautiful dog

  • Comment removed

  • i have a shepherd malinois mix, he's amazing...

  • imho you should feed your dog better. look at around 1:30 , you can see the dogs ribs.

  • @kowaxkowax Some of these dog of this breed are that skinny

  • it's none of my business how you (or anyone) raise your dog(s), i just think that this dog is a little bit skinny. just my opinion. and you could be right cpd659, i am no malinois expert. it's just that my mal and others that i saw were not that skinny. and i still think that she should feed the dog better :)

  • Hello everybody :)

I know My dog is slim.

He is fed double dose food every day. But he's very powerful, so he doesn't put on fat :)

I love him like this :)

  • @dalma91 your dog looks just fine for his breed , mals are suppose to be skinny if you had a fat mal i might be concerned

  • @dalma91 Don't worry he looks good, perfect weight if you ask me. Very beautiful mal.

  • @dalma91 Hello, great tricks, I am very impressed! I thought I would let you know what food I fed my dog. My dog was eating 6 cups a day and could not put on any weight (it was quality food) so we changed her to Acana Sport and Agility. She gained weight at last and we were able to slowly move her down to 3 cups a day. Its an excellent quality dog food recommended for high energy dogs with a fast metabolism.

Dogs are like people--we each metabolize food at different rates.

  • @dalma91 People who are saying our dog is skinny need to learn a bit more about te breed. This is a naturally skinny and athletic breed. They are super fast when you see them in action as police dogs.

They have a speed build, not power build. So I don't know if they'd be any strong though.

  • Comment removed

  • @bronzesel Thats because of the speed lol. They are extremely fast and athletic dogs. But their strength is overrated.

Because of their speed build, they are physically weak.

  • Comment removed

  • @bronzesel I agree 100% on what you said. They are not very strong, but they are still better at taking down opponents than bigger dogs, this is because they run up, get a lot of momentum then jump up and grab them then their body flicks in the air.

The speed of this dog is amazing. They may not be as fast as a sight hound, but they also have alot more strength than a sight hound.

  • @dalma91

You're doing just fine. Lean dogs live longer and have fewer health issues. Mals are almost impossible to fatten up. My 14-month female is just a slight bit heavier looking than yours. She's fast as lightning, strong as a sled dog, smart as a whip, great with kids, and sticks to me like Velcro. Best dog I've ever had. Fat dogs are the ones being abused. I feed mine Bil-Jac frozen dog food and use it as a training reward. Mine will make coffee nervous, and it seems that yours will too.

  • @dalma91 Looks just like mine... He is very slim and very, very hyper. Great dog you have there!

  • @dalma91 Your dog is just fine. I'm on my third Malinois and they tend to be on the slim side, but that's what makes them great dogs for the kind of work they do. My oldest is 13 and her ribs stick out like your dog's ribs. My old girl is still jumping into the water to retrieve water dummies. Swimming is one of the best exercises for these dogs as it's easier on their joints.

  • @kowaxkowax They are real close to the dutch shepherd blood lines and they are often this skinny. Most Mali's work and play so hard they burn calories fast. Both are great breeds. The only choice for my line of work. They have out of this world drive.

  • i guess you are right, some malinois are just slim.

dalma91, i never thought you didn't love your dog :) , just that you didn't feed him enough. i guess i was wrong ,sorry :)

  • Comment removed

  • @kowax You probably don't know a lot of working dogs. Many look like this and I think he looks fine. I have a Dutch Shepherd that I had to be happy with when he was growing up on the days that I couldn't see each rib clearly. As a young pup (3-4 months) he was eating 4-6 cups a day

Depending what activity he gets the owner may not WANT that extra weight on. Needs a pound or two at most. Looks happy and healthy; I wouldn't worry about it considering how hard a breed it can be to keep weight on.

  • @kowaxkowax My Malinois is skinny too, has nothing to do with how much food it gets, the breed is muscular and slim, some more than others. perfectly normal.

  • @kowaxkowax I have a 2 year Black Malinois. He eats alot but has very demanding exercise needs. Because he is so naturally skinny, I hae to cut back his exercise every day.

  • @kowaxkowax malinois are supposed to be sleek, thin, and all muscle!her dog is a perfect example!

  • @kowaxkowax I own a Malanios and that dog looks to be healthy to me. They are a slender bread and its normal to be able to see the rib cage. They are more slender and agile than the German, hence why they are becoming more and more popular with law enforcement and defence. Active beautiful dogs with character

  • @kowaxkowax he's not skinny at all. He's healthy and your dog is probably fat. You should be able to see ribs but not hips. The real issue is why is a malinois doing tricks and not doing real work?

  • Comment removed

  • @padachuggiTKD that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard lol

    idk why im even replying

  • Smart dog, but the music is sort of unnecessary.

  • unloving

  • fantastico

  • best dogs in the world.

  • Great job! Looks like fun tricks! My mal would rather have the toys than the food though :-)

  • too small space for any animal.

  • I think :)

    He's never complained yet :)
