Check out a podcast review of Seaweed's album 'Four' on the Dig Me Out Podcast at digmeoutpodcast. com, a weekly podcast dedicated to reviewing lost and forgotten rock of the '90s.
totally. beavis and butthead played a lot of underground tunes they wouldn't play in regular rotation, you could discover great bands from the 80's, and current music..
lakewood is pretty much tacoma. the video is a tribute/homage to soul asylums runaway train. its about runaways and they have pictures of missing ppl throughout the vid
Funny, cause everywhere you look says they're from Tacoma, I guess its close enough. I grew up in South Tacoma, which they also show lots of images from my old neighborhood as well the 66th street bridge at 1:30. I had a good friend who played football for Lakes, I went to MT Tahoma
Cheers to the poster for putting up a truly great video! This brings back to many memories. 1994, senior year of high school, kickflips and ollies at our local skate spots, basement beer parties and seeing Seaweed play at First Ave. I don't know what my favorite part of this video is...the greasy hessians stealing the bikes or the fact that it totally slags that lame video by crappy locals Soul Asylum.
I think this video was on Beavis and Butthead, it's surprising how many great bands i've discovered through that show.(Seaweed, superchunk, archers of loaf, the jon spencer blues explosion, pavement, etc.).
Im not usually into old school skater music, but this band KICKS ASS. I saw this video on beavis and butthead then searched it on youtube, and found this. It's still awesome. Everytime I watch it, it makes me want to steal a bike.
Saw them open for Bad Religion and Green Day in Minneapolis. Blew both of them off the stage....which is saying a lot. Amazing. (Thanks for letting us embed this..more people got to see it).
I'd like to point out that this video was making fun of one of that year's biggest hits, Soul Asylum's 'Runaway Train', and its dramatic video about missing children.
From their 'official' myspace page: All rumors are true. Seaweed is getting it together to do a reunion show at Bumbershoot, Seattle's greatest music festival... The band is shockingly thrilled to get back together and play in front of our friends and fans once again. All members have returned except they are now playing with long-time friend Jesse Fox of Polecat and Leuko...
Also Jesse and I are working hard on new tracks...
dang, i miss arcades. most malls don't have them anymore. too much space taken up by corperate fashion stores that try to make you think that you need that crap. anyway, sorry about the rant. love this band!
Beavis and Butthead make a video for this song lol

It makes me mad people say that this is grunge music, this is so not grunge. It was just on a grunge label.

The abandoned building at 3:19 is in Lakewood, WA. That's where I grew up and where Seaweed formed as a band at Lakes High School. Local pride :)
