@hjerthinfarkht I missed the start and assumed that this was the end of a longer match. I watched again and realised that I thought that the ref said "time" but I think now he said "tap" as in "the guy has tapped". So yeah, sorry for the mistaken comment.
I was training with Monroe and was in his class after this fight. He tried to act like he wasnt upset but it was written all over his face. Monroe is one hell of a competitor, I will start training with him again as soon as I come full circle from this injury/forced career change (from injury) that i am going through. Much respect for Monroe and Duke. I miss your school guys. Keep it up. I cant wait to get back.
lol random when he finished the gogoplata it reminded me of this inside mma episode where the coomentator is like inside mma im here with bas wake-me-up-before-you-gogoplata rutten haha idk weird thought
id assume from the video monroe had ryans right arm pinched in his armpit. even tho it was getting through it never seemed fully sunk in. Butttt idk im a little high...haha and that leg control...hah
@dimi887 The guy on bottom's arm was on the wrong side to fully cinch in the choke, Ryan abandoned it as he was not going to be able to finish it from where he was. He needed to pass the arm he had trapped under his body, but his leg was still trapped so he couldn't do that without giving up valuable base...
His opponent has obviously done his homework, because Ryan love to pull guard, so why not switch it up on him?
Ryan is so confident from his guard that he was willing to give his opponent the sweep in order to fight from his back... But his opponent was smart enough to not take the bait.
Why does ryan rip on 10th planet in his dvd sets and then he uses rubber guard in his fights?

@G0DatC0D
He was setting up the gogoplata. I hardly call that using using rubber guard/10th planet BJJ.

Why did Ryan let go of the Darce Choke? It looked like he had it in....If he didn't have it...... what was the guy on the bottom doing to defend?

i think ryan voluntarily let go his choke. he definitely didn't have the right angle.
since his opponent was in a good position to sweep, ryan probably thought it was beneficial for him to let go of the choke, and keep his top position.

Good match

Pulling guard's fine. But the dude sort of pulled a fast one by using the handshake as the "grip" he needed to obtain in order to do so.
