You will have a problem installing your mud guard if ever you decide to use one.

Ah another electric vs mechanical mechanism arguments.
Electric system are always lighter than mechanical counterpart (linkages, actuator, springs & etc.), but mechanical system doesn't need battery.
If the battery could last longer than the race then Suntour should look into Electromagnetic Suspension too.

My only concern with electronics replacing wires is what happens when they fail on the track. What are the chances of repairing an Electric lock out when in the middle of the forest and with what type of tools?....
