We are not worthy to assume we'll go to heaven by preaching his word. We are not worthy to assume God is happy with this way of spreading his word. God does not care for what you do or say, he cares about your heart. And you may find that when you're at heavens gates God may say, "You're heart is not worthy to be in my kingdom."
@Sazroy If God is the only one to judge someone's soul explain to me John 7:24 and 1 Cor 5:12? Judging isn't a right, it is a privilege, and being unworthy of using that privilege does not exclude you from using it otherwise no one would be saved because all are unworthy to be saved! You are right that we cannot assume God is happy about this style of preaching, it must be measured by Scripture, like all else. The heart is wicked (Jer 17:9), but it can be restored in Christ (Eze 36:26).

It appears you're reading mainly from Old Testament. Aren't we as Christians supposed to live as Jesus did? Jesus was a listener. He waited for the people to come to him.
@Sazroy - You must have missed the first examples I gave of Paul, Peter, and Christ himself, all were New Testament examples, but as far as your comment about me reading from the Old Testament, the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: - Meaning we have the use of OT and NT passages for our example, learning and instructions. It is amazing to me that those who do not believe what these people preach are so scared of it.If the message is of no consequence, as the drunks appear to think, then what does it matter if it is proclaimed? If out of all their days of drunkeness there is one in which they hear something like this, how does it hurt them? @Sazroy Seeing one of these men was staggering as he walked, I think he was drunk. If not drunk, he sure made a good effort to appear that way. My father owned a bar and I spent a great deal of time there in my youth. When I got older I drank there and the only reason to drink is to get intoxicated to one extent or another. Come with us to a pub on the weekend and then tell us the same thing. How is faith to be imparted but by "hearing of the word of God...and how shall they hear unless there be a PREACHER?" (Rom 10). As for grace, John Newton had it right when he said it saved a "wretch like me." Paul knew that (Rom 7:24), so did Isaiah (Isaiah 6:5) and so did Job (Job 42:5). Until the unconverted know their wretchedness, why should grace be amazing?
@TGreen927 Actually the pre-eminent and most oft repeated attribute of God in Scripture is His Holiness "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord..." Why didn't you mention that? In fact, the love of the Father is not even mentioned in Matthew, Mark, or Luke's Gospel. It appears for the first time in John 3:16 and is contextualized by the cross (Rom 5:8, 1 John 4:10) which itself was God's judgment upon sin by death penalty. @TGreen927 Actually no, soul-winning is not the biggest end. Glorifying God and obeying Mark 16:15 is what matters. Jesus made it clear "Go" (don't stay), "Preach" (public herald, proclamation) "All the World" (nowhere is excluded) "every creature" (no person is excluded). Obedience to Jesus first, evangelistic passion second. Noah only had 8 in the ark, Jeremiah was a failure by modern standards, and Jesus had only 120 in the upper room. Besides that, yes, souls are being saved.

That verse is very clearly referring to believers restoring other backsliding believers - it is not a reference to our evangelistic conduct. A more appropriate verse would be 2 Tim 2:24-26 which I would link with 2 Tim 4:1-2. "Reproving, Rebuking, and Exhorting," then, may be done with meekness and gentleness, and a motivation of love (Rev 3:19). "Open rebuke is better than secret love." (Prov 27:5)

The greatest evidence of the Holy Spirit is a Holy Life, and bless God, none of our new Christians speak in languages that don't exist. @TGreen927 Victor doesn't need to see miracles of the type you are propagating. Those miracles were to give evidence to the fact that Jesus was the Christ, and that the Apostles had the spiritual authority to write inspired revelation (our Bible). Miracles were always a means to an end, and that means is not required before preaching the Gospel. If someone rise from the dead they still wont' believe (Luke 16). They need an uncompromised Scripture-saturated Gospel, and that is the miracle power.

@TGreen927 Thanks for your comment. The Pharisees were not the only ones rebuked harshly for sin. In Matthew 11 we hear of a city to city tour on which Jesus 'upbraided' them (in Greek it means to 'scold as a little child') and he did this because 'they didn't repent'. The cities included Tyre, Sidon, Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum. That's like visiting all the Australian capitals with a scorching rebuke because of impenitence. These cities were the ones He had performed His miracles in too

Not only this, but the media are reporting on everything we do at current, and to avoid being misrepresented we ensure a filmed copy of all we do. @DomsDaOne We do know that they are not born again, so they tell us, and according to Jesus in John 3:3 they're going to hell unless they get born again and repent (Luke 13:3). By ones fruit, one may know ones heart. If they spend their time drinking at a pub, I very strongly doubt they go home to sing hymns and pray, let alone read their Bible that possess enough dust to write 'damnation' with your fingers.
Its christians like these preachers that make so many people repel from God. What makes you preachers think you can go out and rant about how everyones going to hell. NO ONES PERFECT, and I am positive that these preachers have “sinned” so what, does that make them exempt from hell because there out there spreading the “word”. @Sazroy If God is the only one to judge someone's soul explain to me John 7:24 and 1 Cor 5:12? Judging isn't a right, it is a privilege, and being unworthy of using that privilege does not exclude you from using it otherwise no one would be saved because all are unworthy to be saved! You are right that we cannot assume God is happy about this style of preaching, it must be measured by Scripture, like all else. The heart is wicked (Jer 17:9), but it can be restored in Christ (Eze 36:26).

If out of all their days of drunkeness there is one in which they hear something like this, how does it hurt them? @Sazroy Seeing one of these men was staggering as he walked, I think he was drunk. If not drunk, he sure made a good effort to appear that way. My father owned a bar and I spent a great deal of time there in my youth. When I got older I drank there and the only reason to drink is to get intoxicated to one extent or another. If you think it is judging to say this, you have no real understanding of what judging is.

As for grace, John Newton had it right when he said it saved a "wretch like me." Paul knew that (Rom 7:24), so did Isaiah (Isaiah 6:5) and so did Job (Job 42:5). Until the unconverted know their wretchedness, why should grace be amazing?

In fact, the love of the Father is not even mentioned in Matthew, Mark, or Luke's Gospel. It appears for the first time in John 3:16 and is contextualized by the cross (Rom 5:8, 1 John 4:10) which itself was God's judgment upon sin by death penalty. Jesus made it clear "Go" (don't stay), "Preach" (public herald, proclamation) "All the World" (nowhere is excluded) "every creature" (no person is excluded). Obedience to Jesus first, evangelistic passion second. Noah only had 8 in the ark, Jeremiah was a failure by modern standards, and Jesus had only 120 in the upper room. Besides that, yes, souls are being saved.

That verse is very clearly referring to believers restoring other backsliding believers - it is not a reference to our evangelistic conduct. A more appropriate verse would be 2 Tim 2:24-26 which I would link with 2 Tim 4:1-2. "Reproving, Rebuking, and Exhorting," then, may be done with meekness and gentleness, and a motivation of love (Rev 3:19). "Open rebuke is better than secret love." (Prov 27:5)

Those miracles were to give evidence to the fact that Jesus was the Christ, and that the Apostles had the spiritual authority to write inspired revelation (our Bible). Miracles were always a means to an end, and that means is not required before preaching the Gospel. If someone rise from the dead they still wont' believe (Luke 16). They need an uncompromised Scripture-saturated Gospel, and that is the miracle power.

In Matthew 11 we hear of a city to city tour on which Jesus 'upbraided' them (in Greek it means to 'scold as a little child') and he did this because 'they didn't repent'. The cities included Tyre, Sidon, Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum. That's like visiting all the Australian capitals with a scorching rebuke because of impenitence. Jesus emphasized love for God first as a priority, and then, love for others. You've got it backwards way. God is not fooled by your enlightened self interest. If you don't love God, you have nothing to boast of whoever else you love, or whatever else you do. God is everything.

However, you have proven the truth of Proverbs 16 and 20 where it says 'most men proclaim each one their OWN goodness,' but as Jesus said 'you go about to establish your OWN righteousness, being ignorant of the righteousness of God.' Isaiah 64 says all your own righteousness are like filthy rags. The Gospel reveals GOD'S righteousness (Rom 1:17) by faith alone in Jesus.

Funny thing is if you'd spoken on common terms i would have remembered your point whether i agreed with it or not, but since that stuff doesn't mean a thing to me i'm gonna instantly forget it. Use scripture when you're arguing with someone religious, it just doesn't work on me i have an intolerance for bullshit. To me it's the same as quoting Harry Potter to prove the existence of magic.

Opinions fluctuate and change, but God's absolutes are fundamental and forever. Get used to it now, because eternity is a looong time to be wrong.
