As a former resident of the high desert, BTW That was over by Adelanto Marketplace. The city does not allow for paved roads or sidewalks or even maintenance. Lived there from 99 to 06. I watched alot of the developments go up and I am not surprised in the least that this happened.

In my opinion this is not the poster child of the Economic Collapse. Palm Bay Florida is.

Well if you think about it the elite the ones who pull the strings. They know about how the inner cities pushed out people who had low incomes. That made many people who are poorer to flock to the high desert. The Goverment is pushing for people to come back to the cities so that they can control you better. Think about it Places like Palmdale, Victorville, will be places where the poor live and there wont be much Goverment intervention. In fact it will be much better then living in the cities

Sam, George, 5 stars. Very true and informative. The high desert is a windy, sand blasted ghost town. Adelonto was like that in 1996 and God only knows how bad it is now.

Same here is Australia, our Govt has done pretty well. Things are set up differently here to the US. I find the US mortgage system strange. I can't understand how you can just walk away from a home. Different places, different rules. Put I am not betting it is going to stay that way forever here. (if anything, our house prices are far to expensive, and need to burst.)

It is such a contrast with these vids seeing the new homes, with the decline all around them. Awesome vids.
