But... this was the theme that played when he lost... Or maybe it was Dedede. All I can remember was this song playing while someone walked sadly into the sunset.

@khafrin In Kirby Super Star, it plays after Metaknight's airship crashes.
In its remake, it plays after King Dedede get's beaten by Kirby.
I guess it would be weird to have Metaknight win with music that plays when he loses.
