  • great job!

  • Power rangers? really? wow.

  • I've always loved this version. It puts me through the emotional wringer like no other version.

  • What a waste of a great song...

  • Has anyone seen Amy Jo Johnson lately? She barely looks like she's aged. She still looks pretty much the same as she did in her Power Ranger days.

    PURE. MADNESS.

  • Oh my god, first time listiner of this version and definitely this song is not meant to be sung by a woman. The absolutely ultimately best version is done by Dire Straits.

  • @jaskov1

    Wrong. Totally.

Who are you to say who this song was meant to be sung by? i would sure hate to live in your black n' white world.

  • You're kiddin right? this is making my ears bleed!

  • Very cute. Great retrospect. Catch ya on the flip side.

  • This version is much better than The Killers one...The feeling is so huge...I love the mixture of talking/singing moments and the south in the chorus.

  • NEETO, you have a real talent for these videos. If you keep making them, I'll keep watching them.

  • dont ever forget the original from Dire Straits.....simply beautiful

  • GO GO POWER RANGERS! this was great btw lol

  • The Killers? PRRRR

This music is by Mark Knopfler

  • nice :)

  • the Killers version sucks.............it's as bland as vanilla ice cream....this song has passion..............

  • The Killers version is better ;D

the indigo girls are good though,

  • Anybody who says the Killes version is better than this is the sort of person who sucks flacid warmed over '70s rock cock. Killers are garbage, in 10 years they will be meaningless. This song goes beyond anything they can ever hope to record.

And i am not even a real Indigo Girls fan, though this song makes me love them forever.

  • Passion can sometimes compensate for talent.

    Here, not so much.

  • i like the matt nathanson's version from at the point.

  • amy ray just gives me goose bumps......love her voice!!!

  • i really dont like this version AT ALL!

its too rough and harsh...if you get what i'm saying.

The Killers definitely have the best cover because Brandon's voice is much more soft, gentle and soothing.

The Dire Strait's original, well it goes without saying that its amazing and by far beats out all versions.

(i still prefer the killers version :] )

  • I love the version of the killers most then comes the original. seriously, how can anybody prefer this cover?

  • yup-- you are awesome. its all about passion and while I love Dire Straits and loved them while I was 16, when this was released, but this is a better version-- it was hard for me to admit when it first came out, but now I know- this is the best most incredible version. thanks for loving it . . . you don't like film noir, too? mbb

  • Ok-- I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dire Straits. Seriously-- I have listened to their version over 500 times. BUT THIS VERSION IS BETTER. Indigos take it and make it theirs-- its theirs-- its over--anyone who likes the DS version more is crazy-- seriously-- maybe you like pop music rather than serious SINGING- what is wrong with you? I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mark Knopfler. I am a huge Dire Straits fan, but how can you not feel the passion, the emotion, the love, the life-- thanks for reading--maineblackbear

  • I love each version for a different aspect of my life. This one being the most meaningful, listen to The Killers version. It is awesome. No version will be better than this but it is worth listening to!

  • @maineblackbear08 Everything you say true except "THIS VERSION IS BETTER" and "anyone who likes the DS version more is crazy". How can anybody emit emotions greater than Mark who wrote and experienced the feelings this song contains. Think.

  • @vulkanizer

I hear what you are saying. i just disagree because the sheer power of Indigo Girls presentation. I am a huge Knopfler fan, but am not all that convinced that he experienced these emotions-- after all, he was a great songwriter and artists are at times able to capture some ideals and emotions they don't experience (for example, Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska-- great tune, but I don't think he was ever facing execution for a series of senseless murders :-) Take care.

  • @maineblackbear08 This song was dedicated to his relationship with Holly Vincent. He wrote it after she broke up with him.

  • @maineblackbear08

    Go suck a big one

  • this cover sucks. balls. bitch can't sing. i'll put it this way... if i listened to ISMFOF, listening as though it were opera, it would be better opera than this is singing.

  • POWERANGERS GOGO!!!!

  • This is a RARE case where the cover is better than the original. I can't even think of another instance.

  • "I will always love you"...Whitney Houston's Version is a Cover of Dolly Parton's...

  • i found this through the song, what's this show about? when was it made?

  • Its totally the mighty morphin power rangers...

    its pretty dope :)

i can't remember when it was made though.

  • thanks!

  • The original song : Dire Straits - Album "Making Movies - 1980" Great song cover

  • Nothing is better than this original song:

it will be forever of an everlasting beauty.

  • Which original version? Do you know that this is by Bob Dylan? Also a great version was done by the Grateful Dead. Its been covered by at least 10 acts that I can think of. Just a lil info from an older sister.

  • I don't believe this is a Dylan Song... I'm pretty certain Mark Knopfler wrote this one. Also, it's awesome that bands are reviving this song because it's so amazing, but I can't say I'm a fan of them in general. Mark Knopfler has the perfect voice and guitar for this. WAY more emotion.

  • @goombaz Knopfler definitely wrote this. You are quite correct.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE Amy Rays version of this song. I think it's even better than the original one. It has such power! She's the best.

  • .. I love you till I die...

  • I'm gonna say it. Pat Cusick. College. There I said it. Best times of my life. Great song. Any version.

  • great song! :D found out killers made an excellent cover also :) too bad dire straits' version, the original isnt as "souly"

  • didn't know the Killers did a version until a month or so ago. I love it! But I love them both in different ways.

  • this song is one of the greatest ever.cassie your so correct. this version breaths life, happiness, anger, hope, love and in the end a bit of dissapointment.Dire Straits crafted a wonderful song, and then Amy Ray brought it to life!

  • i agree this is hilarious

  • this is hilarious

  • when you gonna realise... it's just that the time was wrong. sooo sad n beautiful.

  • i miss the 90's

    <333

  • I agree. Amy Ray sings it with such feeling. Dire Straits version sounds so cheesy. But that's artistic interpretation...

  • ok.......NO

    The Killers......YES

  • dire straits sings this song better

  • wow. While this version is one of my favorites...this video interpretation is pretty lame. What movie is this?

  • the killers sing this song best

  • I love the Indigo Girls version of this song much better, but it is also the one I heard first, and I think that may be the issue for a lot of the people who like The Dire Straits version better. The one you hear first is often the one we think of as the way it is supposed to sound.

  • this is maybe the first dire straits song i ever heard, and i adored it(this was a LONG time ago). it's nice to be reminded of it, but i must say i don't like this version. mark knopfler's guitar and his way of talking the song make it difficult for anyone to cover it.

  • I like the Indigo Girls' live version of this much better.

  • she sometimes screams a bit...mark knopfler has the best voice for this song..I don't like this version very much..mark has the romantic voice needed for this song :)

  • wow this was a long time ago.

  • Dire straits' version is much better, Mark Knopfler has a much better voice for it..

  • ya i agree the first word is actually kinda startling...and normally i love this song i dunno it jst sounded kinda weird. i like the killers version tho its atleast half way decent

  • I don't want to make a negative comment on this song, but i'd have to agree with siany baby that the Indigo Girls indeed "butchered" this Dire Straits classic.

Indigo Girls sounds too "boysband" to me, to sing a song like Romeo and Julliet.

  • indigo girls butcherd the classic dire straits song , romeo and juliet

  • I used to have the biggest crush on Amy Jo Johnson the pink ranger when I was a kid (lol).

  • the old version Romeo and Juliet is very nice movie... I cried when I watched that movie during my high school days !

  • This is one of the only covers I like more than the original. Of course I was an angst ridden teen when I first heard it.

The video may be a bit melodramatic but then again it is the Power Rangers.

  • she made the song sounded diff but kinda spooky for my liking...

  • may not be the best quality video...but it sure as hell brings back memories lol..and i loooove the indigo girls !!

  • Truly horrible cover!

  • i am not really a huge Indigo Girls fan, but i think this cover is brilliant. Better than the original too, i suppose.

  • I agree...it sounds terrible

  • i felt it was boring. i don't know what else to say.

  • I have to say, thank you so much for posting Emily Saliers tearing this song UP. Yeah. Nice to find it on here.

  • That's Amy Ray who covered this Dire Straits classic. It appeared on Indigo Girls "Rites of Passage" released in 1992.

  • Who are Tommy and Kim?

And when did this Dire Straits cover of "Romeo and Juliet" get released? The singer isn't all that bad -- a little whiney, compared to the original, and the tempo is a bit fast.

But who are these people on the video?

  • its the indigo girls... it came out in the mid 90s ..

  • these people are the white and pink ranger from the mighty morphin' power rangers from like 1995.

  • That's my issue with this cover. Its not bad at all. Its just really whiney

And I know first impressions have a lot to do with it. But I am usually open to covers. And if better than the original, I will acknowledge. Just not this one. JMO

  • However, to the creator of this video, two thumbs way up. Great show, great eps. Especially the "White Light" episodes!!!

  • I agree. I love the dire straits version because the fingerpicking melody is so beautiful, and also this is a bit angrier, a bit more whiney as you say.

  • Really good video. Terrible song, but I love the concept and the video!

  • i like this song. good job.

  • You keep making better and better vids for power rangers good job

  • Nice job, this was a great tribute to Tommy and Kim. I love the song for them, it's so good, "just that the time was wrong". Nice effect too, I like that you used it for the whole vid, it gave it a nice sad feel. Good clip usage too :) Great work!
