oh gosh i love darcy's voice <3 the way he said that he loves her just like a breath ; when he said whickam with scorn and most of all ... forgive me =) !!!
and those eyes , blue like ocean ... he's handsome
Maybe everyone imagines their own version of Elizabeth/Darcy... (actually everyone imagines their own version of every book they read)
And i know their are many many people who love the 1995 version.. But just the way when both of them are speaking here... The flow of emotions not just in them but in me... It keeps u on the edge of the seat and just as the scene is ending u find urself going like "Come back Darcy! Where the HELL are u going??"
And just the way he says "I love u. Most ardently"
I know everyone thinks that Colin Firth is the one and only Mr. Darcy, and yes he was brilliant at it, but when Mathew Macfayden speaks, and with those blue eyes, and pours his heart out...I just can't help but fall madly in love with him.
Best freaking scene of the whole movie...so much emotions! This is where I was flipping out when I finally realized Matthew's Mr. Darcy have blue eyes (when he approached Elizabeth)...OMG!!!
And I was like...KISS ALREADY...they were so close but Mr. Darcy held back.
I think both 1995 and 2005 versions have weak and strong sides to them; in this version you can feel the emotions better but the 1995 version is definitely better paced
This version is so much better than the one with Collin Firth. You can actually feel the emotion and see Elizabeth's anger than that in the older version. I can watch this scene over and over again. <3
@yediveren771 you are sooo right! i have watched the 1995 version several times and today i stumbled on this version and all i can think to myself while watching this is, what was the director thinking???
gawd, i love it that after she yells at him he looks like he is gonna lean in for a kiss. but then turns and completely avoids the cliche. if ever a man could make me swoon...
He is the Rain . She is the Thunder . Two elements connected by their own Nature . Fire and Ice in the fight . Can't stop watching that video , that masterpiece. Love .
You can see the hurt on her face after he said the lines about her sisters, mother, and father. And it was obvious on her face that she wanted to say something that anger him, by mentioning Wickham. Anddd he definitely snapped, his composure changing completely when hearing that name. He's pissed to hear that name come out of her mouth. & yeahh. I love the 'almost kiss' moment.
very clear why director Joe Wright refers to this as the "Car Wreck" scene you have to do a double take when watching it's fast paced and just gets worse after impacting
and that guys is exactly what not to do when proposing to the woman you love for other anti tips see the Mr. Collins proposal
My favorite part of this scene is the conspicuous regret on Elizabeth's face as soon as Darcy utters the following line, "Forgive me....Madam for taking up some much of your time."
On her face one can clearly see the realization of forever ruining any possibility of a relationship between the two along with deep REGRET. Bravo Keira Knightley!
Sorry for my lack of vocab, but there's no other way that I can put it: Kierra has the best wtf face in this movie, usually when people are proposing to her (Mr. Collinsahem). :P
I love this scene! But is it just me or does the thunder that rumbles right after he says "your father" really seem corny, as if it was a warning from God above or something :P
god i love this scene. so. friggin. good. best love scene in the history of movies, and they dont even kiss! the way you think they're gonna kiss in the end, and yet they dont....just drives you craaaazyyyyy ans still makes this scene so much mor realistic, oh i love it! and you believe every second of it! there's jsut so much CHEMISTRY there between them oh i LOVe it, I have to watch it again, i'm sorry.
@benghbnn Well, I do. But I understand that you cannot tell such a slong story with so many characters in 2 hours. I prefer that series, but I thought the movie was well done.
One of THE best movie scenes ever! Thank you SO very much for sharing this... Lots of love from Paraguay, a little country in South America most people don't know of <3
emotion packed! i dont know if its the rain or the puppy dog face but the mix between mr darcey's words and that sad lost puppy face makes you want to scream " JUST KISS ALREADY"
Oh, my gosh, YES! That puppy dog face!!I don't know how she didn't stop and say something like, ".....Mr. Darcy...Please, do not think ill of me. I was only so overtaken with the sudden news, that I cannot say I acted well, but only with as much urgency as with that with which you have informed me. I was grievously mistaken to have spoken so, and I....beg your propitiation for it. Do not let my woeful haste, nor my weakened self deter you hence. Do speak on..."
i love it when she says you are the last man in the world i would ever be prevaled upon to marry... its my favorite scene in the whole movie :) i went and saw it pride and prejudice at bob jones university and this scene just trumped it in the ground you gotta love it
"...Mister Whi-QUACK-am?" anyone else always think that when he says it?

Keira Knightley, her expressionless face, and her bony frame are such an egregious choice for Elizabeth.
Rebecca Hall would have been so much better!

Totally out of the point but Keira's hair was awful in this film with the exception of the Bingley's ball :D
