the onscreen keyboard is really good if you ask me, they have a weird algorythm for the predictive text which somehow guess the word your trying to type 95% of the time .. iphones right now have no mms capabilities ..

dialing is all touch, you can even get the old school ringers where you have to wait for the circle to come back around before dialing next number ... music is on this is second to none imo but i would wait till the end of the month since a new iphone is to be announced then ...

the SMS is pretty nice. better than my previous phone. You can make a song as your ringtone as long as it is compatible. It will say on iTunes once you plug your iPhone into the computer

The 2.0 software is free for iPhones and about $10 for ipod touch users. At least that was when it came out. I don't know if it dropped or anything, but even if it still is $10 for the itouch, Get it. It is well worth it.

The Iphone costs too much for what it does. Bad camera without zoom, flash and videos, no java nor flash, no mms... It's just an overcosted ipod touch. Here in italy this thing costs 500€, that is about 700$, and it's really too much. Samsung omnia seems to be so much better.

I don't know if I live in a "fringe" 3G area or not. Once in awhile, I'll get only one bar of 3G rarely, but I'm usually at four or five, but your issue seems like it could be a common one. Manually changing to Edge can be an inconvenience. Do you think it'd be possible for Apple to have it switch to the fastest connection whenever? An example being five bars of edge over one or two bars of 3g?
