I have used public transit to, from and in airports in the US and Israel. I have to admit that LAX is not my favorite airport to travel to, from and inside. A rail link to and through LAX is many years overdue. I am amazed that Metro did not build a rail link to LAX first.
Mexico city is the 8 riches city in the world and the city of los angeles is the 3 riches per wikipedia and its getting richer because of multiculturism
@louierperez No, there are a couple cities within the LA *COUNTY*, but the actual city of LA itself is a dump. I've lived here my whole life and Southern California is experiencing enormous change. All the 20-something year olds of the Upper - Middle class are leaving. Cali is experiencing great "white flight" as well. In 50 years, LA will become the next Detroit, I guarantee you.
@yumifukuzawa1 the reason that the Green Line was originally built the plan was to have it go to LAX but the taxi unions fought against that idea and won
World class city ? I don't think so . Los Angeles is ugly overrun by gangs, criminals, drug dealers and sex offenders . Also it is so dirty such as litter, bad smells and run down buildings . Long Beach ,Anahiem, Irvine , Santa Monica ,El Sugundo, Huntington Beach and Many others but Los Angeles Desirve a world class city. Los Angeles is a toilet city it many least favorite city to go in Southern California.
@Daniel2131990 lol dude, I don't know if you've been around but EVERY city in the world has those problems. If you're in a bad area, it doesn't matter if you're in the fucking city of Oz, there's gonna be some trouble. I've lived in an around LA my whole life and love it there, good with the bad. You wanna talk about bad neighborhoods? Try driving through Baghdad midday at 35 mph. ;) That was not fun. LA is a great city.
@phillyslasher I live in SOCAL all my life its not what you think of Los Angeles . I been there very recently a small pocket of La is nice but 89% of the city is like Mexico.
@Daniel2131990 Nah, dude, I used to think LA was bad when it came to Mexicans. Go to El Paso sometime. Holy shit man. I could have sworn I was the only english speaker there.
I completely agree with you. I'm 20 and lived my whole life in SOCAL. LA would have been better if only it were planned out, but as it is today it's hardly a couple nice places all spread apart within endless miles and miles of suburban ghettos. Day by day, LA is becoming Mexico in the worst sense (Mexico City is, in my opinion, a MUCH better city than LA will ever be). As a major CA city, LA is FAR below San Diego, San Fran, Newport, Irvine, etc. There are so many cities in Cali better.
I once took the METRO to LAX and had to change trains in a - to say it politically correct - rather challenging neighborhood. When you have all your luggage with you, going on an international flight, that isn't the most ideal situation.
So what is my vision?! BEING ABLE TO GET TO LAX DIRECTLY!
WTF? Wasn't this obvious when the Green Line was built? It's a no-brainer why public transit sucks in LA. People running Metro have no clue what people really want.
I would do "not worthy" bows at the MTA if it would be upfront with the public instead of insulting our intelligence. I would rejoice at any variation of "The LAX gap sucks. We were a big part of why it's sucked but now we're finally trying to unsuck it." It would be a dream come true. Instead I wake up to this video with an incredulity at the whole disconnect JUST NOW being realized and addressed by those brilliant minds at Metro who've seemingly finally gotten bored staring at their navels.
Time is right to overcome resistance you'll get from services shuttle bus, parking lot, taxi. SFO BART overcame it, we can too. It'd be so much better for customers...
stop bitching about LA. Los Angeles is a beautiful city, if you think is not.. go to Dallas and see how similar is to L.A.

yea and get those cabs and busses to an off site lot that would clear up a lot of room for auto unloading and loading
