I saw Doyle for the first time at my church ( Westminster Church of God , Westminster, MD ) in 1980 or 81....our pastor announced that he had guitar picker coming for the Sunday evening service. We always attended the Sunday morning & evening services in those days. When Doyle got up to play, all he had was his amp and his guitar. When he started to play, my dad & I both started looking around for the rest of the band. We couldn't believe that all that sound was coming from one guitar. Amazing!
You are so right . He was such a blessing when he conducted the revivals at Northport. We cherish the memories. I had my video camera and it just so happened that he was in the mood for picking after service that night. This bit of footage has become a treasure.
@MrBluekeytony I have only the two more that you can find on Preservingmemories2. Doyle is indeed one of the most talented persons i have ever known. I'm sure you are aware that he is world famous now. When he was a full time evangelist, he conducted two revivals at Northport Church of 'God. Not only is he a super talent , he is wonderful Christian example as well. Thanks for the kind words.
It was about that time that I first saw him at Alabama Campmeeting. we are were blown away He is fantastic.
