  • @firstgovs It's fucklng tea! Canadians don't drink coffee. Just ignore the 10,000,000,000 Starbuck's stores, they only serve tea up there. :P :P

  • @NerdyCanadian alright captain canada sorry

Obviously, I have been duped by my own knowledge. :D

  • America: a wonderful place for Canadian comedians to take refuge in order to avoid getting arrested for failing to pay child support!

  • as soon as he said the bit about gravity and desperately clinging to trees, a spark went off! i do remember this!

and all i could recall before were craig anton's post-shower rantings.

thank you so much for posting this!

  • this is hysterical.

laughed so hard when 1st seen on madtv, been wanting to see it again forever.

    thanks for posting.

  • YES MAN!

  • *giggle* This is pretty neat. It does seem kinda out of wack though, not the video, but what he's saying.

  • All hail the emperor of Canadia !

  • Praised be the all-powerful Billy! He rules our great nation with an iron fist and a hyper-inteligent mind!

  • Yes Man from Fallout New Vegas!!

  • No one does sarcasm as well as Dave Foley (and Don Rickles).

  • It's Flik! :D

  • I'm in Canda and proud of it

  • I didn't realized until now how cute Dave Foley was.

  • @canuck21 heh, you should see him dressed as a woman...

  • I miss these guys...

  • Geography has made us neighbors. History has made us friends. Economics has made us partners. And necessity has made us allies. Those whom nature hath so joined together, let no man put asunder.

  • @capitalistpigdogus I'm american you idiot

  • @oJKBo So, you didn't get it, huh?

  • @oJKBo Let's team up and hate the Mexicans, English and French.

  • Wow. I don't think I've seen a tracking error for over a decade.

  • Dave Foley FTW!

  • I learned all I need to know aboot Canada watching Trailer Park Boys. Man, those Canadians love their weed.

  • @Larommi71 haha tht was a scripted show and yes we love our weed but you guys love ur hard drugs kinda scary i think if we werent boadering each other weed would be legal in canada

  • The KiTH + the best of Mad TV's cast would be the most epic/hilarious team up EVER.

  • Half of those facts, I don't believe.

  • AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME, yes? Yes.

  • I Don't Get Must Of This Jokes Because Im From The UK, But Could Some one Explain The Gravity Joke

    x

  • @stephaniiesweetiie the gravity comment is funny because many Americans think that Canada is wildly different than America in ridiculous ways (like thinking Canadians live in Igloos etc.)

  • @WeSellSoul

I've never heard of anyone who thinks Canadians live in igloos.

The main stereotype about Canadians that I encounter is that they are overly polite and self-deprecating (sometimes to the point of passive-aggression). Also that Canadians punctuate their sentences with the utterance, "eh?".

  • @Jcolinsol That is weird that you haven't, I've heard it so many times. If you google "do Canadians live in igloos?" a ton of stuff comes up.

  • @WeSellSoul

As a Canadian who moved to the US in the third grade, I can assure you that I had to field that question multiple times a day.

  • I use the metric system and today it is -8 C in Montreal. Yes, we do have a sulfur dioxide atmosphere and also, to keep warm, I throw a block of sulfur in the fireplace.

  • I wish we had universal health care.

  • YES DAVE!!

  • Somebody send this to America.

  • @1kash123 It's a comedy monologue, take that chip on your shoulder elsewhere

  • Big KITH fan from wabac. Literally have NEVER seen this. Thank you Magnes.

  • @DrewBludd No problem. I had this on tape from when I was a kid and just finally was able to digitize it. Thanks for the comment.

  • @DrewBludd probably haven't seen it cause it was from MAD tv :P i thought the same thing while watching it, if you look you can see some of the letters on the wall, the guy's face on a pane of glass on the window. but to me, biggest clue, was seeing "FOX" on the bottom right and never once remembering fox airing KITH

  • @DanTurismo1 I'm well aware of what its from. But thanks for telling me stuff you know.

  • @DrewBludd my apologizes then :) i misread what you typed.

  • its all a ploy to keep americans away.

  • I'm Canadian, cavestory - I agree we're more open minded, it seems like we're more accepting - the general everyday people that I know seem to be like this - especially if you/I think that TV represents US culture. But, we are warmongering - and, trust me I've taken a long time to come to this conclusion - my best friend of many years is Afghani and is hazara so I get the argument that we are trying to protect some people - but the people we have over there are soldiers and it's not our country

  • As a canadian, the last line "at least we have universal healthcare" is hilarious - it's pretty much the only difference we have. Canadianscan't deny we're pretty much the exact same culture as the US - the one fact that separates us is universal health care.

  • @hyena1972

I wouldn't say that, like for example Canada actually has a culture. Canada isn't a paranoid warmongering religious/ignorant country. Canada has a far better economic, school, and obviously a better healthcare system; and we have a better government.

As seen in surveys and studies, Canada isn't anywhere near as obese as the US is, nor do we have such a high divorce rate like that of the States. We're a far more open-minded and accepting country as a whole in comparison.

    :)

  • @CaveStoryChannel Why does having a lower divorce rate matter if we're more open-minded? lol

  • Comment removed

  • @CaveStoryChannel Well you're bragging we have a lower divorce rate, but that shouldn't make a difference to an open-minded person. lol

  • Comment removed

  • @CaveStoryChannel I'm just saying, if you're claiming to be an open-minded Canadian, you shouldn't be judging other countries on things like divorce rates.

  • Comment removed

  • @CaveStoryChannel Exactly, it's the opposite of being judgmental, and bragging that Canada has a lower divorce rate IS being judgmental, which is NOT being open-minded. Get it?

  • Comment removed

  • @CaveStoryChannel Dude, open-minded is synonymous with tolerant. Judgmental is synonymous with narrow-mindedness. If there is a difference between the terms "judgmental" and "narrow-minded", it's that judgmental has a self-righteous element to it, but otherwise, they're pretty much the same, and therefore, "judgmental" and "open-minded" are opposite terms.

  • RESPECT CANADA

  • Hahahah as a Canadian and a person with a sense of humor, this is epically AWESOME

  • I know a difference between Canadians and Americans....Canadians are smarter (and I'm a born and breed American). I'd love to go to Canada one day

  • @skatapoopy get the fuck out than. If you think that, it proves your dumb.

  • 2:10 pwned...

  • Comment removed

  • this is amazing

  • Dave is so fantastic as "Yes Man" in Fallout: New Vegas.

  • FLICK? WTF!

  • ha i liked the twilight zone reference

  • @Flinklehurst Before judging other countries, you should look at your own government

    (9/11)

I am french Canadian ( The people that you are looking for when desaster strikes)

Hope you have a nice day !

  • I don't like Barbara Streisand and I'm American. I think we have potential for the Americans and the Canadians who dislike Barbara to unite as one, and banish her from North America and while were at it, get rid of that talentless hack Yoko Ono as well.

  • @bobthefreak09 Can we add our Justin Biebier with them?? Let's send them to Greenland.

  • @MadHabber93 OH GOD YES!!!!!!!!! Through that talentless little pe-on in to the mix as well. We should score up a deal with Russia, and send them to Siberia.

  • @bobthefreak09 I, a proud canadian will stand with you

  • "At least we have universal healthcare" brilliant!!

  • Fucking Canadians don't realise that health care is part of a COMMUNIST CONSPIRACY

  • @Flinklehurst you're retarded! u hater! america wishes to have one like us...

  • @Flinklehurst I'd rather be a communist than be a slave to corporate greed...

  • @maluorno The good news is that it isn't communist, people who use that word to describe our health care system don't really understand either communism, or our health care system.

If basically all of the major corporations didn't have their headquarters in the USA we'd have just as much trouble with corporations as they are. I guess that's one of the pitfalls of having an economy as robust as the US's.

  • @BigMikeMcBastard i see your point...... and i know that we are all slaves to corporate greed...lol

  • @maluorno paranoid much are we

  • @lokaiz - yup. and you should be too.

  • And they still have Universal Healthcare-

    and we don't :/

  • I'm Canadian and I thought this was funny! I wasn't offended at a-

OH SHIT! We're out of gravity! better hang onto something!

  • @GrilledAngus Well, he is Canadian. It's a satirical jab at Stereotypes and gullibility. Basically saying, believe all this hilarious ridiculous stuff America, because you've done it before!

  • Wow, so the universal healthcare joke is 12(+) years old.

  • The ending is great. I love our universal health care.

  • -275°C is below absolute zero. This is not possible, so it brings the validity of everything else he says into question.

  • @lemonrind no doubt lol

  • @lemonrind Well, obviously Canada bends the laws of reality a little. :p

  • "in canada we're ruled by a small boy with special powers...whom we're all very fond of" lol that's gotta be a reference to the twilight zone episode "its a good life"

  • I hate gravity...DOH!!!

  • lol

  • Woah Mad TV was funny at one time?!?!?! WTH!

  • @headbanger623 mad tv was never funny. dave foley, however, was and is.

  • LOOOOOOL

  • Kids in the hall ... Bob and Doug... Don Herron, Mike Myers, Dan Akroyd (+ countless others)... gotta love Canuck comedy.

  • Oh, but yes, I have a huge fondness for any and all things Canadian. Been to Nova Scotia and it's beautiful. But the comics are just wonderful. Especially the 5 that make up the brilliance that was, is and will always be, The Kids In the Hall. :) Dave Foley is my hero! :)

  • How could you give the americans our secrets!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @nightstalker3400 yea jeez dave now everyone knows!!!!

  • Wow, something funny actually happened on MADtv? This must have been taped in some sort of alternate universe!

  • A classic from the early years of MAD TV. The first season produced many of these.

  • Thanks for uploading this! I hadn't seen this one before.....nothing quite like a Dave Foley monologue!

  • Damn you Foley, you gave away all our secrets!!

Anyone remember Dave's line on KITH when asked if he's an American? "No, I'm Canadian. It's like an American, but without a gun". Yep, that's pretty much it.

  • @Kimbahley I remember that, and then he had sex with a Filipino boy.

  • @CanOfMinus Pls tell me about Dave Foley having had sex with a Filipino boy.

  • @Kimbahley im canadian and I own 8 guns lol 1 in 5 canadians have one registered under there name what are you talking about lol.

  • @viper10011 yah but i bet you don't carry a handgun with you at all times...

  • @maluorno ya thats true I just go out hunting every once and a while.

  • @viper10011 please tell me one in five don't sound as illiterate as you... i may stop dreaming of moving there one day...

  • @ageeben ?

  • @viper10011 "im canadian and I own 8 guns lol 1 in 5 canadians have one registered under there name what are you talking about lol." that was you. any more questions regarding how that could possibly sound illiterate?

  • @ageeben it is true facts though.

  • @Kimbahley 22% of homes in canada have guns in them lol.

  • @viper10011 Hey, I'd take that over "God, Guns, and Crazy" America any day. (I'm an American and some people in my own country make me ashamed of it).

  • @Kimbahley

It's from Season 4 ('92-'93), the episode is called "Ricardo." I laughed so hard. Dave plays a Western tourist trying to eat his meal at a beach restaurant; Scott playing a Caucasian-looking "Filipino" shoeshine boy extorts American dollars from him.

  • This is amazing, thank you for uploading it.

  • HILARIOUS!

  • lol i wonder if fox news would use this in one of their shows for actual facts.

  • This guy is so funny

  • but at least we have universal health care...... hahaha

  • haha, I miss Kids in the hall

  • Did anybody else watch Dave's film "California Dreaming"? I hope not. I urge to everyone to avoid that film at all costs!!!

  • Thanks for the worning. Ill take your advice

  • He was in one called "The Wrong Guy" which was hilarious

  • I think I saw that one, I don't remember. But I assure you, this other film is so bad, it will make you forget that Dave Foley is actually funny!

  • i'll take universal healthcare any day!

  • I hate Barbra Streisand, or however you spell her name.

  • Life as you know it.

    lawl Ahh Dave.

  • I met Dave Foley at the super-market

last week....he signed an autograph for me.

    He's really nice guy!

  • Where do you live? I thought he was filming in Canada for the mini-series. I could never be that lucky. Dave is comic idol.

  • Yup- they're filming "Death Comes To Town" Dave and the rest of the group are all staying right here in North Bay, Ontario! They're always walking around at the shopping-mall....and buying food at the grocery store- where I work! It's pretty cool, man! Today Scott Thompson picked up some stuff...
  • I wish i lived in North Bay Ontario, you lucky thing! And sadly like usual us Brits won't be able to watch Death Comes To Town.

  • Why not?

I'm sure it will come out on DVD

and you can buy it on the U.K

    Amazon site!

  • yeah i know but with the kith series DVD's you need a multi-regional player!

  • Oh yeah..... I guess that's true the region codes are different over in the U.K. You can order an All Regions Player on Ebay.... Thenn you'd be able to play anything you want! By the way- over here in Canada, we LOVE the Brits! You guys rock!!!! :)
  • Ahh thanks :D SteveWalrus and big up to Canadians!

  • We're ruled by a small boy with supernatural powers :O

  • Dave Foley was the main character in a very underrated hilarious movie called "The Wrong Guy".

  • i'm starting to see some twilight zone influences in this show.

for example in this one when he says we're ruled by a boy with supernatural powers. it was nice to hear such a subtle reference, if it was indeed a reference.

  • This, which would have been average for Kids in the Hall, is probably the funniest thing ever to be shown on MadTV.

  • the quality's really not that bad. i love dave foley. he's so precious.

  • Precious is a great word to describe him. Such an angelface!

  • ★★★★★

  • Funny. -275 degrees Celsius is just two degrees below Absolute Zero.

  • I just wish I could find my copy of Kevin McDonald's monologue, it was hilarious.

  • @MagnesDrachen13 i downloaded all epeisods from the pirate bay... i wish kevin did more monologues it was awesome

  • Actually, Canada has a very active film industry. Other than that, yeah, it's all true.

  • you say canada has* a very active film industry as if this clip is very recent. this clip is from the late 80s' / early 90's ...

  • 1995. Yeah, the statement was pretty accurate at the time.

  • i believe it was even earlier as the show ended in 94, buuuuuut yes quite accurate :P

  • It was 1995 because that was the first season of Mad TV. They also had Bruce McCulloch, Scott Thompson, and Kevin McDonald make appearances similar to this one.

McDonald did "the monologue ideas the producers wouldn't let me do"

McCullouch did an offbeat random monologue where he made jokes out of what popped on the screen.
