What happened to, 'Wear something light?' Those little reflective strip things make the wearers look either like traffic wardens or nerds. Or both! Maybe a flashing beacon on top of your head, so that low-flying aircraft will avoid you?
I always hated those hedgehogs as a kid. I thought they were patronising, seriously an primary school kid who finds being treated like a child patronising lol!
She's probably just badly injured, it says "covered in cuts." The first one in the series was in the same style (ie. a kid watching his past self cross the road) and it was just like "now he's broken his legs and can't play football."
It just says "covered in cuts," but she might be dead. The other video is in the same sort of style ie. kid watching his past self cross the road, and it just says that he got hit by a car and broke his leg.

This is so utterly wrongheaded.
What have we done to sour streets that our children have to DRESS IN SAFETY CLOTHES?
The street where your child lives should be for him/her to live and play in - why are we shoving our children to the side of their own lives?
I don't even have kids myself, and this makes me mad.
Where's the vid aimed at the driver here - who is obviously driving too fast to cope with someone crossing the road?!!!!!!!
Our kids are ALREADY scared of life outside the car-bubble.

I think kids can handle more serious PIF and PSA' s nowadays.

No wonder Britain has the highest rate of childhood depression in Europe.

Guess what tales of the road replaced the hedgeogs RIP 2001-2009.

According to the Think! website, they thought that children now "grow up too fast" to appreciate being taught road safety by singing cartoon animals.

The website lists two more to come (about wearing a cycle helmet and crossing at safe places) so watch out for 'em!

I will look out for them and thanks for telling me the reason why they replaced the hedgeogs!

These are damn creepy. I haven't seen them on TV though, where are they shown?

They're available to view on the website but they are on TV too. I caught the "boy with broken legs" one on ITV earlier in the week.
