can please someone help me? i downloaded the free trial and every time i log in, its ok for a while, with 600-800 ping, and all of a sudden it goes up to 40k ping and then i cant preform any action and start lagging which gets me killed, then i get logged out becuse theres an error with the server, please help me if you know what to do, i really want to play this game
Play the game before you knock it, watch pvp videos on it before you just look and say its shit. Anything can look great and be shit, anything can look like "shit" and be gold and this is old. Darkfall has changed dramatically and a Revamp is on the way aswell to make it even more rare of a game. It is of course tho not for everyone, and others may not like it just because they don't like it, or just say it and say it about all games that they are shit.
Darkfall is not for the feeble, its hardcore PvP in a huge world (which might make one think population is scarce, but as soon as you need some resource others need you will find out that there is more than enough competition around.) . UltimaOnline pre-Trammel with great sound and graphics, and FPS controls to add! (no auto-aim here, buddy)
To clear things up, ive played this game several times and quit, its not bad, its just you have to be good to get anywhere in it...which requires a lot of time, mostly because people WILL kill you, in the game you get the feeling everyone is againsed you, although, being in a clan is good, the full scale wars DO HAPPEN and the fighting animation has cleaned up a bit now.

You can turn off the bloodstains, and you can turn off the blood spatter, but they're too different things.
The only way to turn off blood spatter is to reduce max particle effects to 0, but this also means you lose smoke effects and the game generally looks less pretty.
if it's any consolation I left WoW for nothing, primarily because it is a boring, repetitive and requires very little skill to play. It rewards even the most inept player, you can have top dps or healing but you'll still wind up losing your roll to the jackoff that did a fraction of what you did.
In the end it's boring with no action, yea target mob, press a button to use an ability, press another button, oh don't stand in the fire, repeat.
have you ever played wow. yes all mmos you play is target a mob and use skills dont stand in fire. but there is also more to that in every game. if you think that is all to wow you need to play the game so you at least you know what you are talking about. ad if you do play then play it right. if that is all your doing then you have wasted your money and are stupid. i can say every game in the world is just pixles moveing and doing something. but thats not all it is.

@themightyquinn28 I think you should try Guild Wars or EVE online. But if you wait till summer 2011, you MUST try Guild Wars 2. EVE has a monthy subscription fee, but if you know how to play you can earn youre RL money for the subscription ingame and play for free forever if you're a miner, but you need 2 months to get the whole thing started. Guild Wars has no subscription, you just buy it and play forever, it requires a little tactics while playing and it's a shitload of fun.
@themightyquinn28 oh, and if you don't like thinking much, but only like tactics, you should try GW2 when its released, just watch the gameplays from gamescon 2010...its will be biblical ! :D I played wow for 2 years from begining till wotlk was released, thats when i stopped because i saw where the whole thing is going, blizz just milks wow for money, and GW just pulled me in. Also, you should check out Continent of the Ninth, it has the best combat system ever, but the story is kinda random.

Sure, the graphics aren't that great. But this game looks amazing. It has unrestricted PvP, player run cities, and skill based character development rather than level based. The game looks very deep and really complex. I cannot wait to try it as soon as it finishes downloading. Graphics aren't everything!
Well, the game had a lot of flaws when I was playing. Mostly, there were no real consequences for murdering and stealing from players. In addition, characters could force you to engage combat by getting in the way of your melee attacks. It was full of griefing.
It is really easy to not fall victim to that. Simple hold down parry for a few seconds until you go blue again . .. if the ass continues, you can hit him intentionally in the back every 10 seconds while parrying and dodging. Just make sure that you do not hit him twice or you are rogue for 2 minutes. Usually I can clear out a spawn pretty fast by doing this lol
This game is better than ever! It was extremely buggy and had lots of problems when I started playing but I am so glad that I gave it a chance and did not leave! It's incredible.
It is growing and DEVs are doing a great job with patches and updates and listening to what their players want.

They'll sink arrows in you from a distance, so you're thinking about cover and range, they might switch to melee when you get closer, or they may run away and keep shooting you, and if they're loosing they'll flee away, trying to dodge your sword swings as you chase them down, and if YOU flee for safety they'll switch back to ranged
I've seen how they move, they move with some amazing AI that reacts to what I do
What you're referring to are range and health "switches". When an enemy that uses Ranged Attacks as their main source of attack is a certain distance away from you, they will use that. When you get too close, they'll melee you. When they get low on health they'll run.
Just about ALL of the ranged mobs in WoW do the same exact thing, except at higher levels, they stop fleeing from you.
It's not "some amazing AI that reacts to what I do".
I wouldn't even assume this game has fun PvP either.

No, 2001-2009, but with low budget. WoW, on the other hand, has tons of budget and the graphics aren't all that great, since they didn't improve since 2004.
Game is the biggest shitfest I have ever seen. I waited forever for it to release and yet longer to finally get an account only to quit within a week. The community is the biggest gathering of douchebags you will ever encounter anywhere, and the game doesnt even deserve to be out of beta.. everything you see in that video isn't in the game. Server crashes non stop so no-one will build ships. No epic battles just naked gankers. I could go on and on, but plain and simple its not what was promised.

It is really easy to not fall victim to that. Simple hold down parry for a few seconds until you go blue again . .. if the ass continues, you can hit him intentionally in the back every 10 seconds while parrying and dodging. Just make sure that you do not hit him twice or you are rogue for 2 minutes. Usually I can clear out a spawn pretty fast by doing this lol

This game is better than ever! It was extremely buggy and had lots of problems when I started playing but I am so glad that I gave it a chance and did not leave! It's incredible.
It is growing and DEVs are doing a great job with patches and updates and listening to what their players want.

Warrock is a Mix of degraded freeplayers and paygamers who have more accuracy & effext in gun cos they pay real money.
(*degraded: paygamer can BUY accuracy and effect, which is like payin to get better knowledge of enemys cards in a pokergame )

"Look how the monsters move" - I see how they move in game. They'll sink arrows in you from a distance, so you're thinking about cover and range, they might switch to melee when you get closer, or they may run away and keep shooting you, and if they're loosing they'll flee away, trying to dodge your sword swings as you chase them down, and if YOU flee for safety they'll switch back to ranged
I've seen how they move, they move with some amazing AI that reacts to what I do
It's freaking awesome.

What you're referring to are range and health "switches". When an enemy that uses Ranged Attacks as their main source of attack is a certain distance away from you, they will use that. When you get too close, they'll melee you. When they get low on health they'll run.
Just about ALL of the ranged mobs in WoW do the same exact thing, except at higher levels, they stop fleeing from you.
It's not "some amazing AI that reacts to what I do".
I wouldn't even assume this game has fun PvP either.

WoW is still the best MMO. Nobody works as hard as Blizzard to support and update their products and that is why WoW is still very fun to play. This game looks very interesting too, I am definitely looking forward to trying this one out.

I dunno I just did a big siege yesterday and it felt like a real battle; I've played 10+ MMO's and this is the best one yet....but all you guys woulda lasted on mordred maybe 15 minutes before rolling to a blue server. How about admitting its just too hardcore for ya?

Game is the biggest shitfest I have ever seen. I waited forever for it to release and yet longer to finally get an account only to quit within a week. The community is the biggest gathering of douchebags you will ever encounter anywhere, and the game doesnt even deserve to be out of beta.. everything you see in that video isn't in the game. Server crashes non stop so no-one will build ships. No epic battles just naked gankers. I could go on and on, but plain and simple its not what was promised.
