This is a pretty good video. Well put together and I like there isn't a cheeseball song like Jump from Van Halen like the 82nd videos have. Been a JM for only about 6 months now, but I got to say it's really an awarding job.

@bilsy28 The yellow straps are 'static lines' that are clipped to an anchor line cable inside the aircraft. As the trooper jumps, the line pulls the 'd-bag' from the pack tray and the parachute feeds out from the d-bag. The static line and d-bag are left attached to the plane. When I was jumping ('85 to '93) we didn't have such big aircraft and the space was cramped. Also imagine carrying a weapon and about 80 pounds of gear during the jump.
Lot's of respect to the fellas who do this - was in 101st 20+ years ago (dope on a rope) - always wanted to do this, never did. Just brings tears to my eyes watching this stuff.

@spartan300ish it depends on what Air Force plane you jump out of. Today, most paratroopers jump out of C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemasters. C-130s can take 64 paratroopers, and C-17s can take up to 102 paratroopers. When I was in the 82nd Airborne in the 70s, we jumped out of C-7s, C-123s, C-130s, and C-141s.
This was a bilateral exercise with paratroopers from India, they are the ones with the mustaches...

i had 2 jumps out of a c17...most fun i ever had in the airborne. for the 1 sec on the outside platform, i was flying.
