American cars are not inferior. my 2004 Impala is just as solid if not more, and out performs any asian car (class matched) from 2004, in speed and efficiency.

What Obama is missing in his response is that China cheats! flat out, it doesn't matter what kind of agreements you have. We need to address the issue from within our contry.

Teagan needs to be nice to the Chinese bankers. She is truly clueless about how dependent we are on China. I hope she gets a clue and let her kids study Chinese, as I am doing right now.

Second, she says chinas government is repressive. Of course there are things China needs to fix, but there are 1,4 billion people living in China, you can´t seriously tell me that installing complete democracy and telling all those people to just do whatever the hell they want is really going to make it a better place, thing is, you hear most of these comments from people who have never even been to China. Being a student there for 4 years, it´s really a wonderful country.

I agree with what you said about supply and demand and yes, undoubtedly the one to blame is the company who sends jobs to China. However, I agree with what the girl said about the government. 35,000 people were 'displaced'(kicked out of their homes)for the 08 Olympics and water supplies were directed to Beijing from rural areas. They filter the press and when were you student there could you access amnesty international online? You can't now. Free Tibet!!

well, I didn´t really try to access them. The reason probably for that is that when I came to China I sort of had a perception that China, Tibet and all those other issues are more complicated than I thought, The students I know here tell me they find their media biased, but very few people really listen to it...as opposed to the U.S. maybe. They also see human rights differently. In the u.s. the gov. allows protests but fails to really take care of people (new orleans)

The Republican government let the people down...GM's HOPE operation did more 2 help. I blame all of that entirely on Bush, his laissez faire attitude extended to social concerns as well as the economy. Thankfully, Obama brings back government compassion. He will also spark a renaissance in US industry which solves our earlier issue about companies @ jobs in China.We should not forget that China re-values the yen regularly to undersell western factories,we should be cautious but not aggressive.

I wouldn´t call her an idiot, she´s just misinformed. She said that Chinese products are dangerous, but as Obama says, it´s really American toy companies who are moving their labor to China and taking advantage of them, and it´s really all about supply and demand, if you demand something that doesn´t cost anything, people will make it out of poison, mud and shit - regardless of what country you outsource to.
