  • Wow that sucks. Sounds like you blew the motor tho.

  • dam do you have a short shifter?.. i think the risk of mis-shifting with a short shifter is greater.

  • Ikeya shifter for you

  • The 3rd to 4th shift on the rsx s sucks. Extremely easy to accidently go into 2nd.

  • @marksranger

really? in the s2k happens some similar thing.

i dont know this on dc5

  • sounded like at least 11k... thats a certain death for every car's engine

  • damn lmao

  • wtf. I have a 2002 turbo RSX I've over revveed an it never blew up

  • Nice to see the S14 in front of him DIPPING OUT!!!!!!!! YEAH 240sx ftw

  • Sucks mate, it happen to the best of us. Shame the syncro in that box didn't put up more of a fight and stop you sticking it into second instead of fourth. Nothing against you bro. but ...

    VTEC aint all that, yo!

  • ouch

  • 0:27 Popcorns ready!

  • I like how everyone here comments on how these drivers should stay out of cars or stay off tracks and so forth like their shit doesn't stink or something. People fuck up sometimes, the human mind is not without faults and shit like this can and will happen. Just muse at this man's misery and move on jeez.

  • this is why you don't belong on a track if you dont know how to shift

  • damn.... what a shame.

  • atleast it broke down at a very convenient spot

  • Lots of stinkin' shit talkers on here who think they are professionals, a good number of which I'd wager don't even drive. What's up with that? I smell a lot of poser punks on here. One word for you: SHUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPP.

  • jesus... why is there so much negativity? we all are watching the same thing... so there is something we all have in common, so i dont understand why so much negativity! the guy missed a shift. it sucks. oh well! it could have happened in a camaro, chevelle, civic, any car with a manual trans! we have all missed a shift at some point in our lives, so why persecute this guy?!?!

  • @tat838805 Because people are ignorant, and half of them probably never drove lol, Youtube trolls

  • UH OH, LOOKS LIKE THAT'LL BUFF RIGHT OUT THOUGH

  • How can you miss from 3rd to 4th? o.O

  • he needs 2 learn how to drive a manual again

  • what that the gear box just falling to crumbs?

  • money shift

  • Maybe if he wasn't a ricer and didn't bang the rev limiter before he decided to shift, this wouldn't happen. LOL JK, THAT WAS JUST AN INDICATION OF HOW CRAP OF A DRIVER HE IS

  • 2nd instead of 4th, shit happens. Great car !!!

  • 0:29 is my favorite part of this video :)

  • now me and the mad scientist have to rip the engine apart amd replace.....GOD DaMN...EVERYTHING

  • @niggatwista LMAO!

  • DOH!!!

  • RHD RSX? Nice

  • Get a straight cut trans so all these morons will stop talking shit ......

  • every dumb fuck rednecks answer -"wouldnt have dat problem wit a v8..." :)

  • ring knutstorp? Har oxå haft problem på den banan :P

  • idiot driver

  • ahahaahaaa

  • I misshifted before on my first car but I guess I hit the clutch fast enough where no serious damaged was caused.

  • @SupaDupaStatus You werent going fast enough lol

  • everyone miss shifts! I have done it. bent a valve.

the best you can hope for is your clutch to slip and save your engine!

unfortunatly, people usually have fresh expensive new set ups, and your new clutch will be the death of you if you miss shift.

  • @heaverrr only "miss shifts" ive had result in grinding into the gear i wanted to go into. So no, not everyone doesn't know what gear comes next.

  • @heaverrr and it's usually honda drivers that can't remember what gear they were in..

  • @ronh129 Yeah. It's just Honda drivers. (you fucking idiot)

  • @ronh129 Nhaa, its because: 1. Honda drivers do race on the track so once in a blue moon while concentrating on a pass, corner etc they misshift. 2. You Muscle cunts don't use manual.

  • @obbyb1

You can tell by the traffic in the video that this was the session for the slow grocery getters like Hondas. They have a seperate session for the real cars because they are soo much faster it would be dangerous to have them on the track at the same time as Hondas.

  • @01Z06guy ahahahahah sweet

  • @ronh129 its more a matter of jamming your gears at a lightning speed and sometimes it just goes in the wrong place, and at 3 am its hard to catch that quick enough so you have usually dropped the clutch by that point and you get fucked.

  • sounds expensive :p

  • ....This has happened to my car. I wasn't even driving it either :'(

  • Ouch

  • i did this in my built b16 ej1 went down to second gear at 75 mph.. luckly nothin happend tho :)

  • i think he went down a gear????

  • please don't be broken, please don't be... (clunking noise)... ahhhhhhhh :'(

  • DAMN POOR CAR

  • Nice shift.... LOLOL l2drive.

  • that wud fucking suck! also why i love my transmission it wont let u in gear if ur speed is higher than the top speed of the last gear u were in ;)

  • god cried later that day

  • Suks man time for a k24 :)

  • this made me lol .. that's what real life is .. shit can happen and most people telling he's an idiot will probably end up doing this one day ..

  • sorry, mate!

  • Well, we all make mistakes but damn...this is an epic failure.

  • fucking idiot

  • damn, do you know what broke? thrown rod? valve float? sounds like there were some chunks hitting the bottom of the car.

  • OMG !! tats hurt ...... i mean de engine

  • If you get the "correct" clutch, it will explode from the rpm's and mis-matched engagement before your engine pops.

But pray your scatter shield holds...lol

  • learn how to shift man i do this all the time and never miss a shift.

  • @TheRevlimiterfreak

ok so you´re saying you blow up engines all the time ?

  • ouchies, no fun.

  • Gutted man, I admit always poke fun at Hondas but I feel so bad for you right now.

  • ouch !!!

  • k20's arent designed by god and built by jesus, people over estimate these engines too much. they are awesome engines, but that gets a little irritating..

  • I used to own a DC5R and the shift gate is so close on them. it is easy to go from 3rd to 2nd or 5th to 4th, I did it myself and got away with it luckily.

  • i love the little white CRX that passes him at the :33 mark lol

  • moneyyy shiffttttt :[ r.i.p. k-series

  • crx sounds nasty!!!! i like!!!

  • Proof that a k20 can rev like an f1 engine! once. Ouch.

  • Fukkin ouch. That had to be the worst sound to ever hear in your own rig.

  • haha, dont u notice most of the mis shifts on youtube are shitty hondas? im noticing a trend.

  • wanna be racer. like i said in another comment.

  • @bigorangetrucker

You are a fucking idiot. Rev limiters wouldn't do shit in this scenario. As others have said, even if you cut off the spark and fuel, this can still happen. This is because the clutch is a DIRECT MECHANICAL CONNECTION TO YOUR ENGINE !... Your wheels, for all intents and purposes, are directly connected to your transmission and therefore your clutch disk. His wheels are going to fast for that too low of a gear so the wheels "speed up" the engine causing it to over rev.

  • @mymakins yes mymakins is right rev limiters only keep the motor from revving higher by cutting off fuel and/or ignition. this will keep the motor from naturally revving higher but not if u misshift to a lower gear.

  • @mymakins so say u spent $150k on modifying ur engine and u do some amatuerish misshift.. u just blew $150k away? can u make the same mistake with SMG/DCT or it won't let u downshift if the revs will exceed max line?

  • @AntDX316 Well, potentially yes, you will have to do major repairs of some sort. For stuff like smg/dct, I believe a controlling computer SHOULD realize that you are going too fast to down shift and SHOULD prevent you from doing so or something to that effect. Otherwise, I would reckon you would see a lot of dumb people complaining to the manufacturer that their engine blew.

  • @mymakins if ur engine was built super tough it can withstand a couple misshifts before failing?

  • happend to my first b16 3_to2 all 13000 rpm then poof she wus gone

  • I did this on my gsr before

  • It sucks to know that 1 misshift can destroy your $5000 k20

  • christ, that has to be a horrible feeling! "FUUUUUUUU!!"

  • I did this in my old GSR... Hit around 13k and got away with only a few bent valves. Car still ran fine for a month before I got it rebuilt.

  • That is farked up, just for a mis gear = engine blows up, crap as.

  • its called a rev limiter. ever hear of it?

  • @bigorangetrucker

Rev limiter wouldn't have stopped this from happening. Seen alot of K's do this, Redline in 3rd gear and then downshifting into 2nd by accident puts the motor to 13,000+rpm mechanically, not by way of fuel and spark. None the less, it sucks balls.

  • @bigorangetrucker It's called a mechanical over-rev, ever heard of it?

  • @bigorangetrucker LOL, Yes and what about it?

  • @bigorangetrucker

Maybe you need to learn to drive before talking smack

  • I do know how to drive. And I don't drive an import piece of shit that i brag about, and how its the coolest car covered with stickers and wings and a coffee can muffler that echoes off of buildings.

Dont bring show to a go fight homo.

  • @bigorangetrucker

Dude, im not trying to be a dick at all....really, but do you not understand what is going on here. Do you have a car or truck that is a stick......Okay, imagine your driving down the freeway doing 100 mph.....you push in the clutch and "turn off your motor". Now your motor is completely stopped 0 rpm, and then down shift to 2nd gear and let the cluth out.......kiss your motor goodbye.

  • what kind of idiot would do something like that. only a wanna be racer.

  • pure ignorance ...

  • @bigorangetrucker

do you seriously think the rev limiter would have prevented this? You do realize the rev limiter only works if you over rev the engine using the accelerator, dont you? This is a mechanical over rev, when he accidentally shifted down into 2nd from 3rd, the wheels were turning far too quickly for 2nd gear, therefore, forcing the engine to mechanically over rev.

  • hey...chill out dude....whats going on here?....

  • Is this the swedish Knutstorp course??

  • but the hilly racetrack is looking nice where is that ?

  • hahaha 3rd gear upshift to...2nd? Bang! No "pro" racer does that cuz that's not the way you shift. I never force the gear in, especially on the upshift. Admit it, he's not used to driving on the right side. DC5 tranny is such a smooth tranny, it's one of the slickest trannies ever, next to the S2K

  • @AccordGTR i did this on forza i hit the revlimiter i press LB on accident and the engine went to 10000rpm in my type R

  • sounds like a rod shot straight thru the engine and bounced around the engine bay a good 20 times... ahhhh that sucks

  • OUCHH .... ! XD

  • did he try to get from third to fourth and only get to neutral and tried to accelerate and blew his engine?

  • @abodigibine69 Nah, looked like he went from the top of 3rd, put the shifter into 2nd, and let out the clutch. Over-revved by, oh, 2-3K (just my guess, anyway). If he had put his hand on the left side of the shifter, it would have been a lot harder to misshift into 2nd.

  • fuck thats scary shit :O hahaha

  • what happened was he completely missed his gear initially, then he went back to neutral and tried to throw it back into 4th in a rush, and in his haste he didnt make sure his hand position was correct and didn't pull the shifter towards him, and he money shifted and destroyed his engine. Mere mental mistake, but it cost him.

  • let me know if im wrong but isnt the dc5 a k24....

  • @sealsponge DC5's have the K20A

  • @sosu88 okay, so what does the k24 come in again?

  • @sealsponge Depands which cause there are around 11 versions of the K24 series but they come out in the CR-Vs and Accords.

  • @sealsponge tsx, accord, element, and crv

  • @TaffetaEJ6 including the tsx-s?

  • Noooo, k20a down the drain just like that

  • Money Shift

  • Fuck dude I would frkn cry if that happened to my rsx I love my car

  • jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja learn to drive

  • fuck man.. that sucks.

  • lollllllllllllllll

  • ouch....

  • Listen up racers. If you are serious about the sport, this is going to happen to you eventually. It's called a money shift, for obvious reasons.

EIther get a sequential shifter, or learn how to backhand shift.

This dude isn't a jackass, every pro racer has done this, most of them in the big leagues too. There are guys making 10,000,000+ a year racing that still do this.

At least he wasn't doing this while trying to show off in a parking lot like most of you youtube faggots

  • @cyberslick18 tell em how it is!

  • this just happend 2 me yesterday..bad shift 3d to 2nd still don t know yet whats fucked:(

  • @cyberslick18 nicely said... ive been there done that... im not a pro races... but it has happened and ive been going to the track twice a week for 6 years...

  • @cyberslick18 well put slick, hopefully the kiddies don't take your comment personally and go to the parking lot and try what we've just seen

  • @cyberslick18 I totally agree with you, I just got my s2k and I am not used to using 5th gear in my del sol let alone the sk2's 6th gear and I've been back hand shifting just to make sure I don't mis-shift. :P

  • @bastec666 Yeah, I'm the same way with my corvette. The sixth gear is just a reduction gear, unless im on the highway no real reason to use it.

Plus, 6th gear usually makes your exhaust sound like shit. I started backhand shifting with my m3, they are kind of notorious for being easy to over revving. I was going around a sweeping turn in 3rd, went to hit 4th on the way out, and jammed it into second, luckily it was one of my first laps so I was taking it easy and let the clutch out slow!

  • @cyberslick18 word! lol. I can't wait to learn more, just got my s2k so yeah, new to rwd and new to 6 speed lol.

  • @cyberslick18 just did it to my car with a fresh rebuild =( i think i just bent valves tho. my fist time ever doing the money shift. I blame myself and bad shifter bushings.

  • @cyberslick18 just did it to my car with a fresh rebuild =( i think i just bent valves tho. my fist time ever doing the money shift. I blame myself and bad shifter bushings. still embarrassing

  • @cyberslick18~ really?!.... they slot the wrong gear when UP shifting??

I thought they only ever overrev an engine when they down-shift too early.

This guy is just shit!.... u only "backhand" 1st to 2nd...... NOT 3rd to 4th!

  • @marek0086 Look up backhand shifting dumbass. I didn't say anything about upshifting. Back hand is a way of holding the shifter, nothing else, you simply hold the shifter backhand style and shift like normal. The awkward angle makes its very hard to accidently shift toward your body, aka, wrong gear. I think this guy did a 4th to 3rd rather than 4th to 5th, although I don''t really know.

Do you even know why this is a bad thing? Is your moms Kia minivan a 5 speed, why are you bothering me?

  • @cyberslick18~ U gotta learn to read.....and COMPREHEND!!

YOU'RE the dumbass, because u cant even understand what i wrote!

  • @marek0086 You are right, I can't understand what you are trying to say lol. Get one of your smarter friends to re-post it so I'll be able to understand this Youtube 13 year old gibberish. Thanks.

  • @marek0086 I never said anything about slotting the wrong while upshifting, what are you talking about?

You "backhand" shift every single gear, every time. First to second is actually the ONLY gear it wouldn't matter if you wanted to backhand shift for. Go look up backhand shifting please, you obviously dont understand what it is.

Man you need to get off of Need FOr Speed and into a real car before you come on here and run your fucking mouth.

  • @cyberslick18~ You said even Pro racers do what this guy did...ie. accidentally down-shift when going for an up-shift!.

In a RHD car, the only backhand shift u do is 1st to 2nd!.

  • @marek0086 No, that is not true. IN fact, the only time you DONT need to do a backhand shift, is first to second.

Please look up backhand shifting, you are confusing it with something else.

    shortshifter. com/techniques2. htm

  • @cyberslick18~ u fucking MORON!..... can u read?!

I said, in a *RHD* car!!!

And in this video its a RHD car!!

  • @cyberslick18~ Another reason you're a dumbass is that u cant even figure out that he shifted from 3rd to 2nd !

  • @cyberslick18 so how many pros do you know that make 10mil+ a year that race cars with sticks?

  • @xCaLeBxx It was a typo, I meant to say 1,000,000.

But, to answer your question, every single driver in nascar for starters.

  • @cyberslick18 if i could like this a million times i would

  • @cyberslick18 HAHAHAAAAA 100% real man. i could not have said it any better myself!!!!!

  • @cyberslick18 actually, wouldnt he want to regular shift from 3 to 4? because hes on the right side, he'd want to pull it towards him (towards R, because you cant go into R going forward) rather than push away from him (which would make it more likely to go back into 2nd).

  • @cyberslick18 what is backhand shifting

  • @poop4256 like backhand masturbation

  • hmm i hear noises, is that vtec pistons on the ground?

  • good thing k20s are cheap!

  • bye bye engine

  • xD ah hahahahaha... what a jackass... Been there, but he owned himself in front of other racers... that sucks penis.

  • @Ghostixe Bah!

  • LOL

  • the car sound weird haha

  • damn that suckks

  • Damn...That CRX Said ''Its About Time I Pass That RSX'' lol

  • noob question but what can you do to save the engine once you misshift?

  • @darealinviz not much. just pray it'll survive it. its why i always says, make sure your stick is locked in to gear before you slam your foot back on the accelerator.

  • damn how sad

  • good 'ol honda reliability lol, ya no way to save a car from a miss shift

  • I did mishit in my Euro R (K20A) once. There was about 8000RPM on 4th and i step back to 3rd. RPMs jumped to about 10500-11000rpm but I manage to press clutch really quick. Nothing wrong happened. It was maybe 0,5 of a sec. Scary.

  • this is why they made rev limiters....

  • @xKILLZONAx Rev limiter doesnt work when you downshift. Its not like he removed it or anything

  • @xKILLZONAx Sir, you have no knowledge

  • hahahahaha

  • I almost cried.

  • wow. i bet theres a hole the size of a baseball somehwere in that block

  • fail -.-

  • Just blew his gearbox, sad to see this tho SMFH

  • my buddy did the same thing in his DC5. 8500 down and time to get another one.

  • Haha leg out of bed and no more 3rd gear!!
