2 months??? answer me this, my supposedly half lab half golden retriever mix is suppose to be 2 months but she`s only like half this dogs size!! Will my puppy go through a growth spurt soon?? please somebody answer me!!
I just got a 8 week golden puppy and the biggest hindrance is having another dog in the house (i.e. A double standard)... I just started on sit and stay, and unless our other dog is locked up I can't get the puppy to pay attention. Great job.
Well done man, good stuff here. My Pit pup is about 11 weeks now and I've been using the clicker for about 2 weeks or so. I got some tricks in here and there but I am really trying to get a solid ''come'' and good eye contact. I love the roll-over.
My yellow labrador puppy is just a bit younger then yours and I hope he turns aout just to be like you puppy!! He's learnt the basic tricks like sit, down, roll over, come, heal, paw, wait - that kind of thing but I really hope he turns out to be just a clever as Bella:)
@ambrosialmien Of course puppies jump naturally, but when they are being trained to jump, they jump a lot more while learning the trick and then afterwards whenever they are asked to. They sometimes also start jumping without being asked just to see if the can get a treat for it. Teaching a puppy to jump should be restricted to the puppy jumping his or her knee height, or not at all until the puppy has grown up.
hahaha!so cute when he said bang...way to go!my 2 month old poddle juz learned how to sit stay down and play dead in less than 1 week of repetition.swear it needs a lot of patience and a lot of treats!
This is great! My white lab puppy is almost 10 weeks old and thanks to a video like this I realized that she had the potential to learn quickly. I just use pieces of her dog food for treats when she's getting hungry, and she really responds. I'm ready to quit before she is! She knows many of these same commands, but I like your high five. Really cute! They are such smart dogs if you spend time with them. (Pretty cute, soft and cuddly, too!)
It's never too late, especially with smart and people-pleaser Labs. Sign up for a puppy kindergarten or other obedience class, and make sure that you work with your furbaby for about 15-20 minutes every day - consistence is key. Hugs to you both! :)
@micheri08 It's never too late to start training your dog! I rescued a 1 1\2 year old pitbull a while back and he wasn't even potty train. I began training him and I trained my 7 year old pitbull with him and they both picked it up really easily! In just two weeks they both knew at least 8 tricks.
@micheri08 It's never too late. Classes are helpful for socialization, and usually the local Petsmart has them for a reasonable price. It's all about how much time and consistancy you put in, your pup could be trained sooner than you think! Best to start young, and six months is still quite young :)
Wow, Impressive. I'm gonna look into clicker training. I just got an 8 week old black lab that I'd like to be advance obedience trained.. seems clicker training works well.
Wat kind of treads can u give her because my lab is eight weeks old and i not sure if i am allowd to give him treats what can i give him at eight weeks old??
@collier0890 you should try using your puppy's kibble, its a good way for your puppy to learn to work for his food and build a relationship at the same time! I am lucky that both my dogs get excited and work for kibble, I now only use treats when teaching them something difficult. Also toys can be great rewards, my Cavalier had surgery last Friday, and she can't eat normal food right now so I have been using toys in her training sessions, and I think she prefers that
:)! So cute:)! I just got a boxer lab puppy 3 days ago. He is 9weeks old. He was crate trained and puppy pad trained in 3 days!! Do u think by the time he is 12 weeks old he will be like this???
Awesome! I just got yellow lab. He is also 10 weeks old. I was excited and proud that mine could sit, shake and high five... Well it looks like im slackin'! Great video!
The click noise is what is called clicker training. He is holding a little box with a metal piece that clicks when he pushes it. It tells the dog that right when she hears that noise that she has done the right thing and a treat will follow.
my lab kicks any dogs ass that i have ever seen, so many people have stupid pointless tricks, like shake paw. expand that idea for your dog to tell you they gotta pee or poo. and whats with everyone with having to use motions to get your dog to listen, i use words or motion, none together, and i have only trained two dogz, i had my my dog trained to shake paw for pee and shake for poo at 7 weeks old, from getting her at 6 weeks
hiyaa, i have a choc lab who is 6 wks old called Bella too. could u tell me how old Bella was when she started to do tricks or when u started to teach her, tar =) x
@therockstarsinc she is just teething! My German shepherd did that to and couldn't figure out y.. she was like 12 weeks when she did that.. now she's 6 months almost 7 months and dosent.. just spend tons if time with her so it will make training a hole lot easier!!
its a clicker, you use it when the dog has done something you want him to do and the click is a unique noise that the dog is trained to assosiate with him doing something good and getting a treat for it
I've been trying to train my shih tzu for 4 weeks now... All I've got is sit, come, and stay (more or less). I'm going to start clicker training tomorrow.

this puppy is well trained! i have a black lab pupp and i have been trying to get him to do tricks and train him, but he is very wild and wont listen! how did you get him to learn all those tricks really well?
Labs are hit or miss. You have a good one here. The other 50% only bite, chew, are generally aggressive, and dumb. They don't mellow out until about age 5.
very sweet puppy..i hav a lab puppy too.he has been with us for a week now..but while playing he bites a lot n become aggressive..can u plz tell me how to stop him doing so.
@dnbmalikiller The clicker method is called "operand conditioning". You can use the word "yes" to "mark" the desired behaviour. The goal is to teach the exercise one-by-one, not how you see here, where there is muliple commands given one after the other. You teach one-at-time and you do alot of repetition per each exercise. Don't add more until you pup has mastered the first one. You "mark" the correct behaviour with a click and food reward, but later on, once the desired
@DivineMoments I may very well be wrong, but I've actually found that using a consistent word (such as "no" or "try again") along side the rejection of a treat can be beneficial to helping the dog understand what is the right answer, so long as no aggression or negativity is pressented. Also, clicker training is far from necessary, but mostly it's a substitution for negative reinforcement. AS long as positive response is used, you're doing it right :)
Very cute puppy! I only got one of my puppies to sit and bark. But, when they bark... they just keep going, tho. And the other one don't really care what I'm trying to teach them.

I have a golden retriever 4 months old ... How can I learn tricks without the clicker
or has the clicker? Please respond
dnbmalikiller 1 year ago
@dnbmalikiller The clicker method is called "operand conditioning". You can use the word "yes" to "mark" the desired behaviour. The goal is to teach the exercise one-by-one, not how you see here, where there is muliple commands given one after the other. You teach one-at-time and you do alot of repetition per each exercise. Don't add more until you pup has mastered the first one. You "mark" the correct behaviour with a click and food reward, but later on, once the desired

You shouldn't say 'no' when a dog makes a mistake doing a trick. Puppies can learn all those tricks in a flash w/o a clicker.

Wow, that is very impressive for a young puppy like that; I did not realize they could be trained so early for such things!
