@davidM1garand not really,it depends where you are stationed at,hell any MOS can get attached to any unit,my plt serg is a 25lima and he got attached to an inf unit and right now camp buehring is in dieing need of 12Ws because they are building and constructing tents for soldiers that are leaving iraq

If you want to do construction do not join the Army. Join the Navy Seabees or Air Force. In the Army you are a soldier first. You will do more infantry tasks than construction tasks. I was a 21J (general construction equipment operator) for 4 years. Rarely ever did I do my MOS.

@vaboy2588 back in the states you will not be doing any construction, but deployed you will work long hours. i had this mos when i deployed last year and it was me and my platoon doing route clearance with the 21b's and building we also had to do are own security but not a bad mos to have.

I'm a split op and I have to go to AIT this summer. I know that the training is held in Golf Port, but I want to know the exact name of the base or camp I'll be attending.

@manny33010 I did this in 1997 but then they called it in the Airforce Structural apprentice. I pretty sur it is at the Naval Construction Battalion Base. "Seebees, who are we? We build, we fight, we kill!!!! Peace.

@manny33010 its held at a navy base NCTC gulf port mississippi your a detachment off of fort leonard wood C co 169th EN...you go to school with navy and airforce.

Its my MOS and yes I liked it. We train in Gulfport MS and I had a really great experience.

Well I went to Ft. Jackson for BCT and AIT is in Gulfport MS. Its hot there but Biloxi and the beach is a lot of fun. The only time I went to Leonard Wood was for battle focused training which is being phased out.

Well Ft. Leonard wood has females too. Apparently so will Ft. Sill here soon. Who knows where they will send you. AIT is only about 7 weeks of actual school but all together about 8-9 weeks with BFT
