i really wish we knew the truth, when u see madeline climbing the steps of the plane, you really wish u knew what happened and where she is... kate and gerry know more than they say,,, madeline is not as small as ppl think most pics were of her age 2 or 3,,,, but she was nearly 4 and much bigger than the first pics shown on sky news... she was put in the car boot i think, but how k and g could have done this under media attention?

at 3.05 they look so happy in the family photo, why did this have to happen. kate and gerry know what happened, if it was an accidental death they should have told the police and rang an ambulance, if it was murder , then why destroy that family that we see on the photo, there was no evidence of abduction

I guess if I was in their shoes, I would be terrified, frightened, distressed & suffering in silence, scared of truth catching up. It would be a nightmare. Confessing won't change what's happened I guess, I hope they're truly remorseful (otherwise it's sick). I guess they can only try living and making the most of their lives with the twins than in jail. If I was in their shoes, made a mistake, I think I'd do the same. I'm interested in their relationship with this terrible secret & evading law.

sad, it's a shame, poor defenseless madeline. It's so obvious they killed her, but I guess it's also understandable why they're covering it up. Their terrible secret must have made them really strong as a couple, but it must be a nightmare to live with, keeping an act up, lying, guilt, pretending she's missing, must be awful. I personally think it was accidental, and they grieve to themselves, but if that's the case they're unlikely to confess. It takes a second to 'lose it' or make mistakes.

1 gerry says it felt safe and what happened was the furthest thing form their mind an yet an abduction was the first thing they thought of that to me does not add up 2 when you are in the garden the front door is secure and locked people cannot walk in from the streets and if a child gets up and crys you can here tem and are there for them if one was not there the child could have an accident or wake up distressed

These two obviously didn't pay much attention when training in A+E: even a simpleton knows about the numerous accidents that could befall two babies and a tiny toddler when left unsupervized for any length of time- choking, falls from bed, or down stairs, drowning, a possibility in just 3 inches of water, strangulation from dangling window chords etc. As for leaving them in an UNLOCKED apartment- English people are paranoid about burglaries, and no possession is more precious than a child!

when my cild was small i was very aware of the dangers a small child could face and took the appropriate steps to protect him how do you do that well you watch them dont you keep them within sight and provide child care when its not poss to be with them your right any idiot knows that and the thing that keeps you an astute parent is love even now my son is grown up he is still my waking thought because thats what being a parent is all about what they did was wrong its a simple as that

The kidnapper is an English speaking person. The kidnapper was in the area for several days observing the habits of this family. He was looking for a specific child to abduct.

All this information narrows the police search. Why hasn't the Portuguese police done more?

I'm just wondering pontedupre321, what makes you say the kidnapper is English speaking, no one saw or HEARD them/him/her/it/they? How do you know this alleged invisible/silent person/people/alien was observing them over several days? How do you know 'he' was looking for a specific child to abduct? Because the parents said so?? They were not even there when Madeleine was taken and they felt incredibly safe...No proof there even was an alleged 'abduction'!
