That's what I used to think about any electronic music style. I used to listen to a lot of reggae, oldschool rock, metalcore and some other stuff, but couldn't get my head around electronic music...until I discovered dubstep, the little weird creature with its nuances that make some people question the producers' mental health. After a few good listens I started to notice all the little elements of music - every beat, drop, basslines, change of tone. House, dnb, breakbeat etc!

I haven't heard anyone playing dubstep in mainstream clubs. Usually it's played on special events. Try and find out information on the events going on near you, I'm sure you'll be able to find something. (Usually says on the poster/event website/Facebook etc)

wow dont u just love 2:09, all the tension it builds up! You see thats what i love about house/electro music besides the fact that most songs have sick bass lines and melodies, is that in house/electro music tension is built up and released. Theres anticipation till that 8th bar where the drop comes in and all the build up is let out.... I just cant really put it into words, its something unique and amazing !
