Hey Jay, Im a long time owner of a Savage 25 and the old MT2, Ive had them for almost 4 years I think. Ive just bought a car her in china as I live here now. Its a Hsp Searover, AKA the Afa t-9 pro, but the engine is crap. I am on a 26 engine and it runs fast if i open the throttle slowly, but if I open it up quicky or I try to get to full speed then it tries to cut out, can you give me some tips please.

PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP my revo 3.3, to get it started i have to pull the throttle then turn of the remote so it stay's that way. then when im driving it, its not running right and when i give it throttle it accealrates really quick, and i cant drive long it just die out, still plenty of fuel just dies, and i have to keep throttle going to keep it running

This brings back memories. I went through all this with my Savage 25 and it was running perfectly until I fitted the reverse module and smashed the idler gear in it. It would be a very easy fix I suppose but it's been in a box for 2 years now and I haven't bothered to touch it. :(

@TheRockisSmokin check the gap in the carburator before you start the engine.. the gap should be no more than 1 mm or 1 1/2 at most

realy usefull vids. i have an hsp warhead, did this to is after run in, clocked 65 mph on the sat nav on 25% nitro. I know the warhead is cheap, but if you maintain it well, it will give lots in return.

i have trouble runnig my car for big periods due to it oerheating but it doesnt seem to be its like it has vapour lock it will never run for a full tank with out stalling it has been broken in properly and it is on hot days and ive heard to lean on a hot day but am to scared to as it already overheats easily

when the wheels rotate, all of the gravity is forced to the ends, and since the tires are rubber, it can easily expand when turning on full throttle

i've run my engine at the wrong settings so many times and my savage still runs great as long as there's a bit of blue smoke coming out at full throtle your good and read your instructions they'll help you out to hope that helps and have a fun time with it =D

you won't screw up the engine but shutting off the fuel supply either by pinching the fuel line or plugging the muffler. you will screw it up but running it too lean on the high end

Lean out your Low speed needle and richen your High speed needle no worries just dont go full throttle until you have it sorted

hey my car (rc10gt) first doesnt want to start and then when it dies if it gets anywhere close to idle. it will not run at rpm's low enough that the clutch isnt engaged. what do i need to do? i know the engine is not worn out because it has good compression. i know the glow plug and igniter are fine and im pretty sure it isnt my fuel too. the tube going from the pipe to the tank is about 2". could that be the problem? if not what should i do? the local hobby shop didnt really help. thanks

Ya it's called ballooning, air gets into the tires and it's like a giant air weight pressing on the outside of the inner tire and it makes it exspand, it's cool and everything untill your tires rip from there seal.

its just like nascar the faster the tires move the hotter they get and when air gets hot it expands causeing the tires to get bigger

thats not how it works in rc. the rapid spinning of the wheels causes the tires to expand. the same way water stays at the bottom of the bucket even when you swing it around fast enough. like what bittergrapeshape says. centrifugal force.

ur idle needle is too low, turn it clockwise to increase ur idle. when u let off the throttle, the carberator or however u spell it is closing too much an cutting off the engine.. but there could b other reasons.

you can also try to pinch the fuel line, if the engine revs up conciderably, its running rich on low. If it cuts out revving only little more or not at all, its too lean.

after you get it to get more revs, adjust the high speed needle first, then adjust the low speed one. as the high speed needle adjusts the low one too.

Learn where needles are. set em on factory settting. If theres a midspeed needle, leave it be.

First - idle screw, so that throttle is a tad open, even if you brake.

Then hispeed - should rev clean, no cutting out while accelerating, and smoke from pipe when hitting the throttle.

then adjust the low speed so, that you get a quick responce from throttle, and you have smoke during acceleration.

you have the low speed needle either too lean, or too rich.

look in manual where the low spped needle is.

most engines have: high speed and low speed needle, and idle screw.

idle screw physically pushes the throtle open (make the gap about 0.7mm - 1mm, or adjust so, that the car stands still on idle.

try first opening the low speed needle half turn.

if the engine still shuts down, open it one half turn more. if still shuts down. close it back the full turn, and close it 1/4th turn.

your idle if you pop your air filter of the carb you can see the air intake hole with all the radio gear setup correctly (check your trims remember) it sould have a 1-2 mm hole with it all setup right

dont worry just adjust your idle turn it anti clockwise to lower it down this should keetp your car at a standstill if the problem is still there then richben up your low end if that does not work then check for air leaks, glow plug, and if you want change the fuel tubing to a longer pipe and the exhust pipe tubing that goes to the fuel tank make that shorter this should also dismiss the half tank lean bog that plague most savages nowadays hoe this helps m8 lemme know ^^

On my nitro car, when you start it you have to drive it a little with the glow plug battery on for the engine to run nicely. And the engine is cutting out if you do full throttle right after you started it, you have to "warm up" the engine first. Do you know how to fix this?

hey i had the same problem with mine. but what you have to do is if you have just broken the engine in or had it for a while you should change the glow plug. i had just broken mine in but i had baught a spare glow plug because you have to change after. or your glow starter is not charged enough. but i would check the glow plug. cya m8

NO! Nitromethane engines CAN NOT run on regular gas. Nitromethane engines are 2 stroke engines and do not have a spark plug.

heyy boys im in need of some help kk first off its really hot and humid where i live and for some eason the lowspeed needle has to stay reallly rich because even if i go a little bit leaner thn like a turn past factory the engine idle goes nuts and for some reason if the engine is sitting for more than 3 seconds and i hit the throttle it bogs liek a bitch its a bran new engine no air leaks i replaced all the fuel lines and got it cheked to leaks by a professional so i dont no help me please thnx

it's either too rich or to lean.... if you see a lot of smoke or if there is liquid comming out of the pipe, than lean it up a bit. otherwise, it's too lean and it doesn't have enough fuel.

your best bet: reset all needles to factory defaults and then lean the highspeed around a half turn, the bottom around 1/4 of a turn

No, there should always be a little bit of oil coming out of the stinger of the pipe at all times. Yes, your needles should be set back to factory setings so check your manual....my LST2 is 3 turns out HSN & 3 turns out LSN, then you should adjust the HSN + idle screw fist. HSN should be about 3 full turns out from BDC(bottom dead center)+ 4 1/8 turns clockwise. Then adjust your LSN last, and yeah probably somewhere around 3 full turns out + another 1/4 of a turn or so. - GOOD LUCK !

Great video!! Good advice taz, if all else fails go back to factory settings adjust idle and hsn then lsn. Its a bit of a pain sometimes but well worth the effort once your nitro is cranking!
