I saw this video only once before in the early 80's on german television (Formel 1) and immediately thought it was excellent. Tried very hard to get more information about the band, but failed, because nobody seemed to know them over here. What a nice surprise to find them here almost 25 years later. I would love to hear some more music from the band and will try out the Email link.
I used to see this band around Liverpool a lot in the 80's - Thought they were brilliant. I think the singer, Mark V did a solo album when he left the band. If anyone know where I can get hold of any more of their stuff, please let me know.
hi - Contact that email address i have put on the info part of the video and Phil Hargreaves will send you a cd out, plus check their web site - again in the info box - Thanks John
what a great band, i am so excited seeing this stuff and that of the persuaders, i had an audition for persuaders, dont think you will remember me though John, I lived in next road to the other John, Portelet rd, have you got all this stuff on dvd
Glad to hear Mark was chuffed..but deservedly so..still a great song. Things that stick in my memory are the guitar synth intro..half speed gtr in the mid8, vocoder in Bridge, backwards guitar at end of mid (I was very into backward FX!), huge reverb on snare at end of mid8 and delays etc.
You should all be justly proud of your contributions on this record... with more promotion from Stiff it could have been a "biggy".
Hi -It was a great single - Email Phil Hargreaves at the email address that i have posted in the info box with this video - He has promised to send out free CD's to anyone that contacts him - Just tell him John J told him and you saw this on youtube - he will be chuffed - Best Wishes John
Wow. It's been a long time since I heard this. I actually bought it after hearing it on John Peel, 1984?? I think. They did a Peel session as well which was excellent. Great B side to this single was called Here's Looking at You. Wonder what happened to them. Still got the 7 inch single.
saw this band in Liverpool around 1984 and to this day remain one of the best i've ever heard

Saw this band in Blackpool in the 80s. They should have been huge. This song is relevant today what with the id card debate. A true lost gem
