To me, all the final fantasy games where brilliant, because none were the same in anyway, you had magic from items that could get stronger after each use, magic learned form materia, your weapons, even rawn from yourenemies, aswell as espers and Eidolons =] anyone who bitches and complains about final fantasy one to six are just kids who NEED their "hip" graphics to play and rate games,

@demichil no. 2 just fucking sucked. if a party member didnt take enough hits to gain hp early on they will be killed easy, if you didnt attack much and you run out of mp you are fucked. its the only final fantasy where i have said fuck it and given up.
where would we be without 1... nowhere because Final Fantasy was a far cry for success... it was square softs final game and if it wasnt successfull then bye bye square enix thats why the game it titled FINAL fantasy....

well rpg games especially japanese ones have a way of its own to paint a moving potrait in ur head. though i'm not a hardcore gamer.
when i play these jrpg the portrait gets burnt into my head. the level of detail and story focus is great
