  • thinking about doing this to one of my 65 f250s... does the engine have power??

  • @PBALLPLYR01 I don't think the 4

bt would have enough power unless it would be used for the road with no towing. A 6BT would be an excellent choice.

  • @jghflys You can get an easy 4-500 hp out of a 4bt. Those things are stout and all you need is injectors, some pump work and a good set of turbo's. Maybe some head work to hold it down as well and you would have a hell of a motor.

  • hella clean nice job

  • Very nice! I'm sure you aren't using a T90, or even a T19 (no OD). What tranny?

  • @BlakeMason2 The trans is a NP431 with a granny low.

  • would you please give me advice as to how to mount the engine to the frame I have a 77 thx

  • Nice looking rig! I have always loved diesel engines. How about fixing the brakes and then taking it for a more extensive drive. That'd be awesome!

  • nice neat package, man!

  • the engine has more torque than a302 and pulls very well. I can idle through most obstacles. Still haven't burned a tank of fuel so I don't know MPG. the turbo discharge pipe can be routed around the front of the engine. I would still have some mods to do because of valve cover and hose interference though.

  • so is the engine peppy? what kind of MPG do you get? Can't you just re-route the turbo intake pipe for hood clearance?

    Nice Job! I want one!!!

    Cheers!

  • How difficult was this swap?

  • Plenty of space in the engine compartment. Use a Ford chassis 4BT and match bell housing position to the original engine then fab up: motor mounts, move the passenger side frame support, notch the passenger side frame about an inch for the starter, with a 3.5 inch lift and 1 inch body lift, notch the oil pan for front differential clearance, install a thin electric fan for the radiator, custom upper and lower radiator hoses, and raise the center of the hood about 3 inches,

  • ( continued from below) run wiring for starter, alternator, run solenoid, and instruments, build custom turbo down pipe and intake, add a hydraulic clutch setup or modify the mechanical clutch. Start and enjoy.

  • I'm still working on the hood.

  • that engine runs REALLY well!!!! sounds like a brand new engine?!

  • I miss my 73bronco. nice truck

  • Thats awesome, thanks for sharing. Might wanna work on that brake situation, haha.
