He has not kept a single promise, he has shown total cowardliness and has governed like George Bush III.He should have ran as a Republican so we would have known who he really was. I wont make that mistake twice, he will not get another vote of confidence from me or my family.
Obama is not a facilitator of change, he's a director of change if we look at laws like Obamacare, NDAA, ACTA (which has been approved), the bail outs, stimulus, etc... How the hell is he a facilitator rather than a director?
WHAT HAS GONE WRONG IN THIS COUNTRY IS HONOR AND INTEGRITY WAS ABANDONED FOR A BUCK... the norm is dishonesty and manipulation..the entire culture is predicated on deception and manipulation....Obama is feckless and balless and is handled by the banking mafia establishment as well as the neoconzionist Military complex....
The big money is already flooding to Obama, a sure sign that the 1% have made THE decision. Obama is no fool, he knows exacyley what he's doing. He's a moderate Republican at best, just read his admiration for Reaganite economics in his autobio. This is a one sided class war led by Obama because they required a phony MLK type of actor. Where are we today? It ain't that hard to figure out. We need a n independent party based on the productive working class and oppressed.
Real easy get government out of the free market. The government plays by no rules, so we should nt even invite them to the field; when will liberals understand this.
@Doggorunning The government SETS the rules idiot. That's the only reason why you aren't defrauded on a daily basis. Or even enslaved by a private interest.
@Doggorunning I'd say it to your face 1000 times over, since you are an idiot. So idiot, you should be thankful that your country still resembles something like a democracy because it's only that way because of the US government. But yeah, right-wingers want to get rid of that. They're the truest threat to humanity and civilization. The US government outlawed slavery in 1866, created market competition via antitrust laws since 1890, etc. "get government out"? Sounds like an idiot to me, idiot.
@Doggorunning Oh and by the way, when you say "say that to my face and I would gut you" - I thought you Americans believed in freedom of speech? Oh, I forgot, you're an idiot and and embarrassment to your nation, not actually an American with sound values. My mistake - I will no longer think of you as or expect you to be a reasonable American. Solved. Ok idiot?
@Doggorunning Explain how the most liberal country in Europe, Norway, is also the richest per capita (even richer than the USA), and why low-tax countries like Mexico, Sudan and Yemen are shitholes?
@TheNavigateur Man you are an idiot, that’s like comparing a large city to a world super power. Look let pretend you have no idea what you’re talking about ok; we will keep it our little secret.
@Doggorunning Really? Ok let's look at Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, all combined. Then look at Mexico, Sudan, Yemen. Same story. Explain.
@TheNavigateur the reason low tax countries like mexico are shitholes is because there is so much corruption, and the politicians all live in beach houses and eat hundred dollar dinners and fly around on jets while their citizens don't have clean water. and do we really need to talk about yemen and sudan? people wipe thier ass with the left hand there, oh yea, they live better than we do in the USA... *rolls eyes*
our politicians are corrupt too but we are not on the same level.
@TheNavigateur i would not frame norway as the most liberal country in europe, they have a great economy thanks to their oil and regulation on banks... USA should look to see why rich countries are rich, i see a red thread of some sort of leftist ideology in all those countries
@8NCLI8 It's no accident that the most socialist democracies in the world are also the richest, while the least (Congo, Chad, Mexico, Yemen, Sudan etc.) are the most horrific places to live. It's because reason prevails in a truly representative democracy and so the more dominant that is, in terms of making the laws etc., the better the outcomes for its people. Only right-wing propagandists claim that the US system isn't based on socialism - the US constitution is quintissentially socialist.
@TheNavigateur Are you dumb enough to place Mexico in the same level than Sudan (or even imply that is one of the poorest countries in the world). Sir you are extremely ignorant...just for God sake check the economic indexes of Mexico (one of the biggest economies of the world, high human development index, tough very unequeal also). You are an ignorant trying to pass as someone that read...Of course Mexico is poor if you compare it with USA or Canda but above the world average
@Mexicano1288 Mexico is a shithole. Your crime problems were always inevitable because you don't have a strong, well funded government. A country sitting next to the USA should be MUCH richer than it is. But Mexico will continue to fuck itself until it votes for a strong government willing to pay for justice and a semblance of equal opportunities. Good luck.
@TheNavigateur The problem with your point is that you didnt give me any number, just opinions...by crime I suppose that you mean the drugwars? Homicide rates? even with the "drug wars" the homicide rate is just a little above the world average, tough i agree with your premise that Mexico should be richer having USA as a neighbor, your point of "one of the poorest" is false. The world is not black and white.
@TheNavigateur Wait I just saw that you’re from the UK.....lol your country is so screwed are you serious? Your countries liberal ideas have destroyed that entire sector of the world.
@Doggorunning Oh and idiot, europe is one of the best regions to live in in the world. And also the most liberal country, Norway, is also the RICHEST per capita, even moreso than the USA.
Look at the US - liberal states like California - silicon valley, software etc. and then the right-wing states - backwards.
You want taxes below 10% right? Well Mexico, Yemen, Sudan etc. all have that, and they are total shitholes. Send me a postcard when you get there, idiot.
@TheNavigateur yes, look at california, thier economy is broke because they cant afford all the Illegal aliens because they don't enforce federal immigration law. Look at the CA school system, 1 of the worst in the USA. Look at the crime rate, 1 of the worse in the USA. A gallon of Milk in California is 3 times the cost where I am. A small apartment in a ghetto be about $1000 a month, where as I can live somewhere else less expensive ,with less crime for 25% of that, elsewhere.
@TheJRuePerot I don't really know what point you're trying to make? I mean California is still one of the richest states per capita in the USA (around 13th highest). As a whole state it is the richest. Delaware, D.C. and New Jersey are the highest per capita.
The US is a mid-high tax economy. Low tax economies - Chad, Congo, Yemen, Sudan, Mexico, Burma - all the most horrific places by far. Higest taxed democracies - Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, France, Germany, USA - the best places.
@atheistram Everything this person THE TURKS (which btw - who the hell are they and if they're Turks - where did they come from and why do they have their own show) but anyway - everything this guy says is biased. In fact - it's so biased that
I didn't comment further because his biased "reporting" has no facts, it's his opinion - and he's attempting to claim he speaks facts - which is so woefully ridiculous - it isn't worth my breath.
I spent one half a year of the few moments I had my father wasn't working slapping SCAB signs on stop signs. I was about eight and the people he represented would have had shit but for the union; no 401, no nothing. FUCK Steve Jobs; fucking parasite
@TheNavigateur Yes the states have some rights to create their own laws and they do a constantly. Which is obvious. That's not the same as saying that the government structures are different. They're exactly the same as the fed and state level. The right to pass their own laws is simply a right, not a procedure or structural difference. But as you can see with cannabis and hemp, the feds pick and chose what state laws they respect anyway. Defeats the purpose.
i love obama, and i'm going to vote for him because the alternative (which will be mitt romney) would be so much more devastating - but these memos make my heart hurt. i'm gonna need obama to grab his nuts one time and roll some heads in his 2nd term or i'm egging the white house
WHAT IS THIS FUCKING BOOB TALKING ABOUT? Republicans are bought by corporations but democrats are not? How about Obama and general motors? How about Obama and General electric? I would love to see this ding dong have a debate with Andrew Wilkow. It would be a fucking slaughter.
Obama is smart to fear the Conservatives. Conservatives founded this country and someday we'll take it back... You progressives have had your way for over 60 years. You time is running out.
@richarddbeck None of the founding fathers were 'Conservatives'. Exactly which 'progressives' have had their 'way' with the country for the past sixty years? What evidence do you have the time is running out on progressivism, which has not only succeeded in modernizing and civilizing the country, but shows no signs of stopping and will in all likelihood carry the future? You are living in a fantasy world.
But isn't this the progressive world view? The people are too stupid. Government knows better then everybody else so we must give them unlimited power to control our lives... From the progressive world view Obama needs to protect Cenk from himself.
@richarddbeck I have never heard any self-described progressive or liberal say that the people are too stupid. You get that from Rush Limbaugh, who doesnt know anything. No progressive has ever advocated for the government having 'unlimited power'.
we are moving to the right!!!!!!!!!! That means we are winning. Take that suckas! lol We will only score when Ron Paul become President. But than again we are stuck with some middle of the road Mitt dumbass.
Cenk, you need to accept the fact that Obama is a trojan horse. I accepted that fact 1 year into him being in the white house. I grew up a republican but backed the democrats for the last 10 years. It is now clear to me that both parties are different faces on the same coin.
I now side with Ron Paul. No more Wars! No more irresponsible spending! and we need to protect civil liberties.
@spamllpitdept How is Cenk defending Obama in this video? The entire video is Cenk talking about how Obama is making excuses for his lack of progressive action. Did you watch the video?
@spamllpitdept Cenk does talk about how Obama's advisers are nearly all right-leaning but he goes on to say that the few times more progressive options were available Obama still rejected them because of his public image. Cenk calls Obama a loser in this video. He mentions lefties who are for Obama and make excuses for his lack of progressive action don't know what they're talking about. I don't see that as defending Obama.
I'm a libertarian, so Cenk and I are pretty much diametrically opposed on economic issues. But I respect him because he is intellectually honest and convicted in his beliefs. I don't, however, respect president Obama that way. At least, not anymore...
Im a Democrat, and a supporter of Obama, but i gotta say , the president looks like someone whos incredibly eager for acceptance from people who directly oppose him.
@Weazeltxting1 Your a mindless liberal robot. You will still vote for Obama regardless of what he does. Why pretend to be anything else? You fear what you don't understand. Cenk just said the less money you have the more you should spend... An you still believe everything he says...
Obama reminds me of us as kids in school. The right wing are like the girls in school. We do everything we can to appease them, but then we (hopefully Obama will too) come to realize that they're all bitches and weren't worth our time to begin with. After a while, you bump into 'em again and you realize how DRASTICALLY they've begun to let themselves go. Obama, please, stop trying to appeal to these BITCHES!!!! Why don't you go talk to the cute girl in the corner who has the big crush on you!
I think big money (one percent) knows America is done and is not interested in further investment in the USA - they're off to central Europe and leaving this BS behind.
@ccm800 The elites made a deal with China which transferred all those manufacturing jobs there. The bankers have purposely screwed up the economy and that goes for the largest global central bank in the world, the very private FEDERAL RESERVE. Politicians have screwed over businesses with all the regulation and taxes. . It's wonder the economy is in the dumps.
Once again, I'm not saying that govt is more efficient in it's current state, though many programs are. What I'm saying is just because your life vest is barely working doesn't mean you should throw it away, FIX IT! American citizens can demand that we fix the problems with agencies that have grown insanely bureaucratic, and then WE will run that business, as a nation, to suit our needs. Then we can ask business to stop BUYING our politicians and impeding our ability to exercise free democracy.
And I would personally rather not have an unaccountable private business handling an emergency where profit is the main motivating factor. There's absolutely no reason a govt agency couldn't be modeled to be just as "efficient" as any private company. The only difference between the two is govt can subtract profit, huge executive bonuses, and lobbying costs. What often makes govt more expensive is not cutting corners on cost and paying employees well.
Just curious but how are you going to keep no bid contracts from happening when you've reduced govt's power down to almost zero? Who's to stop the company you've given the contract to from raising the prices substantially? In Paul's world govt barely exists and there are nearly no restraints on private industry, which was exactly the problem with Bush/Cheney's private businesses, govt stepped back and business was unimpeded.
@LunaSeaSane Are you sure the memos weren't leaked in order to save Obama face, and have people say: "He meant well but there was way too much pressure against him"?
@LunaSeaSane And what's up with that jurassic "winner/loser" right wing mentality, all of a sudden?
That's the kind of talk companies sell you when they require "an extra sacrifice" on your behalf (which is constantly, by the way). The same people who view you as a tool; the same kind of heartless bastards who'd facilitate the current financial situation.
Considering the staggering amount of unemployed, foreclosing "losers" lead by incompetent governments, that is tremendously disrespectful.
Will it be cheaper to have FEMA privatized? Let's look at all the govt contractors that serve our military. KBR charges the govt $45 for a 12 pack of coke in Iraq, they charge $500 for toilets. There have been numerous charges of corruption by American companies taking over govt jobs in Iraq. Army bases and other facilities that used to be run by the Army Corp of Engineers are now run by private companies, they have almost exclusively came in immensely over budget and terribly constructed/run.
@senortonyful I can explain this because I was there in Iraq working next to KBR. That company is tied to Bush/Cheney's private business. There is a reason why their stock doubled over there. What I'm proposing isn't no bid contracts like you just mentioned, that's the problem. Instead we need to open the field and let the best value take the contact. You're on the right track, but you missed the no bid company, KBR and Bush ties.
Yes, he wants the public sector to take over, that's the problem. I completely agree that there are major problems with many govt agencies, but those jobs need to be done, I would argue they should be overhauled instead of destroyed. There's no law that says a govt agency can't be efficient.
So what happens when FEMA is run for profit? Will the service really be better when their main motive is to make a buck instead of help those in an emergency?
I'm not saying he is a Kenyan, I was making a joke, and yes only someones ideas should matter. As far as the American citizen thing, have you not read the constitution? Do you know that the passage is actually called the "Natural born citizen clause"? Yes, you must be a natural born citizen to be president. You can be born anywhere but you have to be born to American parents. Article 2, Clause 5 you must be a "natural born citizen", at least "age of 35 years" and "been resident for 14 years"
@senortonyful No, read Article 2 Section 1 Clause 5 please. And read it literally. There's a comma before "at the time of the Adoption" which makes both the natural born citizen requirement AND the US citizen requirement BOTH only mandatory at the time of the Adoption of the constitution (i.e. temporary), the only ongoing requirement being 35 years+ and having lived 14 years in the USA. Only if that comma is removed (via amendment) can the "natural born" misinterpretation be valid. So it isn't.
If the political climate is as is described then I wonder if the President had stubbornly tried to be a "director" of change instead of a "facilitator" of change, would he still be alive today?
I swear I think the Republicans have something on Obama. Maybe he really is a Kenyan and the Reps know it and they're holding that over his head to make him do what they want.
@senortonyful What's the crime about being a Kenyan? Shouldn't only a person's ideas and actions matter? 2ndly, even if he was born in Kenya he's still constitutionally eligible, despite what you may have heard (read the constitution if you don't believe me). Thirdly there's no way he wasn't born in Hawaii anyway because there are 1968-archived newspaper publishings of his birth there. Bottom line: US propagandists generally target those in power who they think might fight for justice.
Please Cenk, They are not stupid. Politicians know exactly what the are doing. They are doing what they are paid to do. Put on a dog and pony show for the little people. So we don't see the man behind the curtain.
Yeah I watched Keith from the beginning, newcommer, before leaving msnbc, i have a problem with ppl that complain and the fight is not over, if all this energy would have been channeled towards defeating the republicans or the tea party we would be further along, stop complaining and get in the game
if you want to go home, pull your skirt down and go, personally i thought he said yes we can not yes i can, democrates kill me with he got our hopes up, you got your hopes up without realizing that your hopes are nothing without putting in the work, stop bitchin, and lets go..obama2012
"Anytime you throw your weight behind a political party that controls two-thirds of the government, and that Party can’t keep the promise that it made to you during election time, and you’re dumb enough to walk around continuing to identify yourself with that Party, you’re not only a chump, but you’re a traitor to your race.”
@GalacticScrotum Wow... Malcolm X described Obama's presidency to the letter. It's ironic that the GOP voted more in favor of the Civil Rights Act than did the DEM. :P Yet they tend to blatantly vote for them just like a chump.
i cant see how some of ya"ll have all these problems with Obama, when he was fighting ywhere were yall. Everytime i turned on tv, blogs, complaints, what happened to the 2010 election, where you sending a message to the democrats, good strategy.. tea party mania, get off yall ass and get in the game because i guarantee the republicans dont give a crap abt what yall bichin abt..OBAMA2012..either you in or you are a republican, playin for keeps
@beez4949 What happened was Obama got everybody's hopes up and disappointed with, barely, mediocrity. The game is fixed, republican or democrat. As for keeps...it happens again in 4 years.
Because Obama is a DUMB fucking liar.... like all Progressives and Liberals!

@RussianAssassin21 - Wrong. The whole video is Cenk making excuses that the problem is Obama's advisers and not Obama himself.
spamllpitdept 3 weeks ago
@spamllpitdept Cenk does talk about how Obama's advisers are nearly all right-leaning but he goes on to say that the few times more progressive options were available Obama still rejected them because of his public image. Cenk calls Obama a loser in this video. He mentions lefties who are for Obama and make excuses for his lack of progressive action don't know what they're talking about. I don't see that as defending Obama.

shadowedge69 3 weeks ago
Once again, I'm not saying that govt is more efficient in it's current state, though many programs are. What I'm saying is just because your life vest is barely working doesn't mean you should throw it away, FIX IT! American citizens can demand that we fix the problems with agencies that have grown insanely bureaucratic, and then WE will run that business, as a nation, to suit our needs. Then we can ask business to stop BUYING our politicians and impeding our ability to exercise free democracy.
senortonyful 3 weeks ago
And I would personally rather not have an unaccountable private business handling an emergency where profit is the main motivating factor. There's absolutely no reason a govt agency couldn't be modeled to be just as "efficient" as any private company. The only difference between the two is govt can subtract profit, huge executive bonuses, and lobbying costs. What often makes govt more expensive is not cutting corners on cost and paying employees well.
senortonyful 3 weeks ago
Just curious but how are you going to keep no bid contracts from happening when you've reduced govt's power down to almost zero? Who's to stop the company you've given the contract to from raising the prices substantially? In Paul's world govt barely exists and there are nearly no restraints on private industry, which was exactly the problem with Bush/Cheney's private businesses, govt stepped back and business was unimpeded.

Army bases and other facilities that used to be run by the Army Corp of Engineers are now run by private companies, they have almost exclusively came in immensely over budget and terribly constructed/run.
senortonyful 3 weeks ago
@senortonyful I can explain this because I was there in Iraq working next to KBR. That company is tied to Bush/Cheney's private business. There is a reason why their stock doubled over there. What I'm proposing isn't no bid contracts like you just mentioned, that's the problem. Instead we need to open the field and let the best value take the contact. You're on the right track, but you missed the no bid company, KBR and Bush ties.
shadowedge69 3 weeks ago
Yes, he wants the public sector to take over, that's the problem. I completely agree that there are major problems with many govt agencies, but those jobs need to be done, I would argue they should be overhauled instead of destroyed. There's no law that says a govt agency can't be efficient.
So what happens when FEMA is run for profit? Will the service really be better when their main motive is to make a buck instead of help those in an emergency?
senortonyful 3 weeks ago
I'm not saying he is a Kenyan, I was making a joke, and yes only someones ideas should matter. As far as the American citizen thing, have you not read the constitution? Do you know that the passage is actually called the "Natural born citizen clause"? Yes, you must be a natural born citizen to be president. You can be born anywhere but you have to be born to American parents. Article 2, Clause 5 you must be a "natural born citizen", at least "age of 35 years" and "been resident for 14 years"
senortonyful 3 weeks ago
@senortonyful No, read Article 2 Section 1 Clause 5 please. And read it literally. There's a comma before "at the time of the Adoption" which makes both the natural born citizen requirement AND the US citizen requirement BOTH only mandatory at the time of the Adoption of the constitution (i.e. temporary), the only ongoing requirement being 35 years+ and having lived 14 years in the USA. Only if that comma is removed (via amendment) can the "natural born" misinterpretation be valid. So it isn't.
